Skies of arcadia. The part where you first start having battles in the air ships. I couldn't figure out what i was doing wrong and kept dying so i just gave up and never touched the game again. It just seemed overly difficult and i was like, I'm out! That game is supposed to have this huge cult following? Not impressed.

Warframe, The Plains of Eidolon expansion. From 2013 to 2017 I had put over 3,500 hours into Warframe. But the shift from a corridor-action game to an open-world-action game broke my spirit. I dropped the game, cold turkey, no regrets with the time I spent.
One of my favorite games of this generation of platforms, but I'm never going back.

@sixrings A little off topic, but my brother and I tried to rent that game like three times from our local video store as kids, and every time we got it there was a different game in the case. I remember one of them being Super C, don't remember the others. I have still never played Who Framed Roger Rabbit? I guess that's the moment that made me give up: the third time we got the wrong game made me stop trying.
@Xyphon22 I enjoyed it... my first open world game... sucks I couldn't finish it but eventually just watched it on YouTube... BUT I LOVE GAMES BASED ON MOVIES or TV SHOWS... so I have a bias
Another moment that made me stop playing: Mega Man & Bass's second King Fortress level. Good lord, this level is garbage. For starters, it's needlessly long and drawn out, partly thanks to having, like, a bajillion boss fights. The tank fight is already bad as it takes wayyyyyyy too long to beat, but the jet fight was the final straw. It is borderline impossible!!! While fighting, you're constantly jumping from one platform to the next - need I remind you that they can get destroyed, too? I lost many lives on this fight, and then some! Don't get me wrong, I like a good challenge, but this level - especially the jet boss fight - is absolute misery. This is the only classic series game that I haven't finished (I've finished Mega Man 1-11), and I pretty much just said why in this very post.
I totally agree with SomecallmeJohnny - it is an abomination of a boss battle.
@Apportal i have been play a game called RICK DANGEROUS for nearly 30 years and still hav'nt finished it. they call it trial and error to find your way around the game. it is rock hard but i still like loading it up on my zx spectrum and try to get futher, i have finished three of the four level's and am just into the start of the fourth. say hello to tessa. i had a dog called tess and one before here called trxie.
I got to the end of Final Fantasy X and didn't beat it because I liked it too much and didn't want it to end.
No, nothing bad at all, I just wanted the game to keep going on forever.
