Let's face it, many of us were not able to give a moment's silence to Satoru Iwata so what happens when these guys die?
Yeah, I know that life will have to move on and so but here's the problem, games today aren't like in the past where the moment you see the company's name, you would get an awesome game. Nintendo has been doing that over the years. But majority of them are from these guys. Who's in charge of Mario, Zelda, Metroid and Smash when they are gone?
The worst part is, I've never seen them in person. I want to like atleast say hi to them in person and just be happy with it. The fact that my dream of seeing Iwata-San is now gone makes me wonder just how these guys are going to stick around? who knows, by the time I get the opportunity to see them, they are like gone.
well hopefully by then they would groom the next batch of great game developers. Nintendo will just have to move on....there nothing else that could happen.
Playing: Wargroove on Switch and Fire Emblem on GBA
It's not as if Nintnendo aren't nurturing a younger generation of dev. talent to eventually take over from the old guard. It would have been like speculating whether Nintendo will be able to survive in the portable console market after Gunpei Yokoi left. He was the guy who almost single handedly is responsible for NIntendo having a presence in the portable market. Yet in his absence NIntendo had further success with the GBA and then the DS family of products. The reason is that even without Yokoi Nintendo was able to create portable consoles that appealed for much the same reasons that the OG gameboy did just with more capability. And it is certainly possible that NIntendo can continue to make quality hardware and software when guys like Miyamoto, Aonuma and Takeda are no longer at Nintendo.
Some random dude on Nintendo Life.
Toriel left for a while, so Freaky Fred took over her place!
Not changing this part of the signature until Nintendo announces Super Mario Sunshine 2.

Wow.......You literally aren't concerned about all this and yet, most of you guys weren't able to give a moment of silence for Iwata-San's death........
Its like the world pretty much wants Nintendo dead.
@Artwark: I was being blunt because you said the question like what happens to nintendo. when any of them dies I WILL BE UPSET and sad and mourning but what will happen to nintendo is fundamentally nothing.
Edit: I dont know why you are trying to make it seem like we dont care
@NightmareEater: WOW! You are just the EMBODIMENT of unpopular gaming opinions, aren't you?
Anyways, anyone paying close attention might have noticed. We've already seen a glimpse of what will take over when those guys die/retire/other. It's very noticeable in this fun little title for the Wii U called Splatoon. We know these guys can build quality games for all their formulaic titles, but when Nintendo took off the reigns, they REALLY delivered a heavy hitter. Yes, it has its problems, and here's hoping the new guard is more receptive to overseas criticism than the old guard are, but if Splatoon is any indication, we don't have too much to worry about in terms of game quality for Nintendo's future. I'd be more worried about their business decisions in the near-to-mid future.
@UGXwolf: That's exactly the point. Whoever decides Nintendo to go straight to mobile will indicate that they are doing what majority don't want them to do. Its the business decisions that alters the game quality as we've seen MGSV going to have microtransactions and such.
The only reason that's not happening suddenly is because the ones I've listed are very honorable to Satoru Iwata and as long as they are alive (except Sakurai-San because he's not part of Nintendo anymore.) this won't happen. The time these guys are gone is the time that drastic things will happen.
Just tell me one thing. Who now in Nintendo working within a few years and such understand what Nintendo wants to do in the long run and will lead them to do it as such. Nintendo till now has made new ways to make games. What if one of these young employees decide to just not do anything innovative and stick to the old way of playing games with just a controller? Honestly, I feel as the controller setup is outdated as there really isn't a lot to do with it except just do standard gameplay in it. I want to see something beyond that and Nintendo is the only one that does that right.
Your mind is in a bad place dude, this isn't healthy stuff to mull over. Like @Megumi said (jokingly) consider your own fate, if you can resolve that you'll worry less about trite things.
