@shadow-wolf Funny enough I dislike 3D world for similar reasons. I felt it was massively overrated, especially the music.
Then again, it was designed to be played in multiplayer, so obviously playing alone wasn't the ideal scenario to experience it in. Still, I found the music and level design to be too familiar for my tastes.
Not to say I -hate- it, but it's definitely not the followup to the Wii games I was hoping for, haha. But Odyssey seems to be what I've been longing for, at least in terms of how epic it looks
I don't think you can have one Oracle game without the other, they're like two halves of a movie or book. But they are certainly the best 2D Zelda games.

I hate the Fire Emblem series (I've played Awakening and Fates, although I marginally enjoyed Heroes)
Generation II (Gold/Silver/Crystal) is still the best Pokémon Gen
Speaking of Pokémon, Pokkén Tournament was a pure letdown
Breath of the Wild aside, Twilight Princess is the best 3D Zelda adventure
Super Mario 64 is better than Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2 (though I still LOVE the latter)
Mario Kart: Double Dash!! is the best Mario Kart after MK8
Mario Party 1 & 2 are amazing games and possess the best Mario Party formula to date
Perfect Dark 64 is better than GoldenEye 007 (though again, I loved GoldenEye)
Smash 4 is a superior game than Melee (I grew up on Melee and have always played Smash since it launched in '99)
On the topic of Smash, once you get into it, the likes Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat become mundane (I love - and always will love - these franchises, but I just can't revert to extensively playing a traditional fighter anymore due to Smash's insane level of freedom)

@Oat IMO the DS4 is "serviceable" at best. Which is more than I can say about the DS3. In terms of controller design the XBox 360 and XBox 1 have always been leagues above the Dual Shocks to me in terms of ergonomics. The WiiU Pro did a commendable job, and I feel like Switch Pro is finally an equal to the XBox controllers....though the triggers on the One are still superior.
The only problem with the XBox controllers is the sticks are made out of whatever material swords in BotW are made of. They break themselves every 20 minutes and fail to track/center properly. And the battery compartments on the 360 controllers were VERY sketchy and failed to mate on all units. Though they did run, even on AA batteries a lot longer than the 5 hour special that is the DS4.
@Operative2-0 Personally I LOVED Rosalina's ship in Galazy. It might not have had much to do, but the theme, visuals, music, and the way it lit up more and the music added instruments with each big lum added, made me want to just stay there forever. 2 was missing that charm that held the first together.
People spend way too long on the subject of controllers. Sure, I prefer the 360 pad over the DS3, but I've never used a first party controller that didn't feel fit for the job (though the triggers breaking on the original Xbox controllers was a bit of a bind considering how much Project Gotham got played in my house).
You guys had me at blood and semen.
What better way to celebrate than firing something out of the pipe?
@DarthNocturnal Hm, thanks for your advice, I may do - I've heard the same from others too!

All opinions folks, all opinions...
I only disagree with 2 of them... that's pretty good considering it's the unpopular opinion forum! XD (I've never played Perfect Dark 64 or GoldenEye 007, so I didn't count that one).
The only differences are:
*Generation IV is my favorite Pokemon Gen
*I didn't like Mario Party 1 and 2 that much... my favorite Mario Parties are the Gamecube ones
I personally think the dual shock 4 is the most comfortable controller I've ever played with. That controller is BEAUtiful. The gamepad is surprising more comfortable than I initially gave it credit for. I hated it at first and then I played BotW for more than 140 hrs and it really was like the gamepad was invisible, that's how comfy it was
The DS4 is comfortable, but I'm not sure I like the width of the area where the sticks and buttons are. If that area was as wide as that on the X360 controller... then I'd consider it as one of the best controllers I've ever used. Otherwise, I think I prefer the GamePad. @NEStalgia really? I've had my X360 controller for about 7 years now and the sticks still feel very solid. Granted, we may or may not have used the controller as much as other controllers but I feel the sticks are premium. And the battery life... I think it's more convenient to remove the batteries in the X360 controller when you're not using them (wait... it's not... but you get the point... I think). I don't know why, but its "battery" life seems to increase when you do that. @shadow-wolf Well, I've already given reasons as to why I think Galaxy/2 are the best games I've ever played (not even sure I did enough justice, lol), so feel free to read over them on the previous page or two. At least we can agree that 3D World was amazing. Variety of that game, regardless of linearity or not, was just phenomenal.
@Vee_Flames Sheesh I went through like 5 of those things! I still rank it #1 (really #2 now) for ergonomics, but in terms of build they had some serious QC issues. It was Mad Katz quality junk, and they were clearly sourcing random parts bins from whoever was cheapest for a given run. Each new one FELT entirely different in terms of stiffness, button/trigger feel. The first one had the worst D-Pad I've ever used, and then eventually the left stick lost tension....it wasn't even in tension in all directions. Got a new one. New D-Pad design, better! A few months in the left stick was out of center, it developed a drift and a wide deadzone so I'd fidget with it to get it to center....until I moved it again. Third one, the right trigger had an audible spring snap, and eventually the left stick, again, was out of center and developed a drift. Forth one, the battery compartment didn't mate right, it would shut off randomly and fidgeting with the battery pack would fix it. Fifth one was the last I had and didn't use it as long as the others.
To be fair, my Gamepad also developed a left stick drift eventually, however that was last year after many many hours of severe abuse between Bayonetta/2 and Splatoon. I expect a stick to wear after that kind of abuse over that many hours. But not a few months like the 360 controllers.....they have a special kind of poor quality. But I loved the ergonomics (and loathed the DS3.)
@Blue_Blur Ha, that is pretty sweet! GC MPs were also good, but they just couldn't top the N64 ones for me! Don't even get me started on the Wii and Wii U ones though. Super excited to see how Ninty could possibly resurrect the franchise with MP11 on the Switch!

@ZeldaFan50
Yeah but Twinrova appears at the end of each game, so it leaves the story unresolved. If she didn't then I would definitely agree that they could be judged separately.
