No. That's how I remember them all, at least...am I wrong? I'll admit I haven't played through a Metroid game in at least 6 years...
Nnnnooooooo... I'm pretty sure all of the Ridley fights, even back to Prime 1, are about weak points. Corruption's Meta Ridley elevator shaft fight is more of an early game set piece than a boss and it still has points you're supposed to target.
Ridley in Metroid: Zero Mission is one of the most bizarre boss battles. While Zero Mission is the easiest Metroid game (which I feel is almost clever, considering it's a remake of the first game that is also the first game chronologically), at least the other boss fights are usually actual boss fights. Kraid is still Kraid, Mother Brain is still Mother Brain. Ridley is missile spammy in the 2d games but in both Super and Fusion, it still takes long enough to spam those missiles that you need to dodge some attacks! There's still effort involved. Zero Mission Ridley is almost like a joke boss, except they forgot the joke. Whispy Woods I think takes longer to beat in most Kirby games.

...I'm aware of that. I just mean...attacking those parts was usually easiest when he grabbed you. But I'll admit that I've only played through Super Metroid once, so maybe it was harder in that one and I just forgot. Metroid Fusion I've played through twice, but not recently, and I barely remember any Ridley fight in that one, and I could've sworn it was near the beginning, and requires very little effort. Nevermind, it was the one near the end. That one was tough, just like every single boss in that game.
I never beat the original Metroid, but I got far. That one I remember being tricky, but mostly because getting hit in that game is a royal pain at any point, since you can't easily recover it at save points like you can in the rest. I don't think Ridley ever showed up in Metroid II, but I got majorly lost near the end last time I played and I could never beat it...
I don't recall them being very complicated in the Prime games, but I could just be remember it wrong. Obviously MP3 was the most recent one I played, so...
@DarthNocturnal But Nintendo needed to take down AM2R so that they can release their own Metroid II remake that's nowhere near as good .

For everyone complaining about the FFXV delay, since when did people go from "who cares about Final Fantasy XV?" to "I was so excited for Final Fantasy XV!" ? Either way, Square Enix did it. They made people actually give a crap about Final Fantasy XV.

People need to realize that remaking copyrighted material and distributing it to other people is stealing. To download said copyrighted material is a passive participation in the theft. There is nothing worth discussing there, that's just how it is. Whether or not you think it's okay to steal is another question, but let's not pretend that's not what is happening.
^Unless Episode Duscae was a complete and utter lie, you won't have to worry about that. If FF13 was a field trip through London, then FF15 should be like Backpacking through Europe in comparison.
Here's a list of things that gaming needs to get over:
1. Using feminist as an insult. It's a generally vague term that only means that a person believes in women's rights.
2. Freaking out over anything that sounds even close to tangentially related to an insult to games.
3. Looking at everything related to games through the rose-tinted goggles of nostalgia.
4. Accusing people who like different platforms of gaming than you of being "fanboys" and "blind followers" of whatever platform they use, even if it's not their preferred platform.
5. (this one's a Nintendo specific one) blame specific members of Nintendo's TreeHouse staff for decisions they never made.

Mechanical keyboards are inherently less responsive because of the throw on the keys. Insistence among gamers on the usage of them is some strange kind of collective hysteria...
...for similar reasons the gamecube controller with its eight-way gated thumb-stick is basically more responsive than any kind of arcade stick will probably ever be...it stands to reason...it's just dependant of the laws of physics.

On this topic...I have no idea why the 8-way analogue stick didn't stick. It makes playing 2D games, or anything where you need precise directional movement, so much easier.
@Buizel I think it's mainly because thumbsticks brought analog control along with them, but yeah...the only fighting games I have bar (.hack because it's 3D) and Ultimate Marvel V.s Capcom & BattleFantasia (for the art-style and design) are all on Wii, basically because of its eight-way gated stick. Until the gamecube adapter works with more than just Pokken and Smash Bros I'm going to be hanging on to my Wii...
...but totally: for example, Skate would be so so much better with an eight-way gated stick...don't give me a plastic skateboard, give me an eight-way gated stick as an optional skate game peripheral.
Here's a [cropped] list of things that gaming needs to get over:
1. Using feminist as an insult. It's a generally vague term that only means that a person believes in women's rights.
Yes, unfortunately that is an unpopular opinion. Many gamers need to chill and stop exploding into sexist vitriol whenever women are brought up in or around the medium. The stigma ascribed to feminism is a problem larger than gaming, unfortunately. But even in the industry there's a lot of sexist people who would tell you otherwise, and they need to be brought into the fold (the fold being equality and mutual respect).
And I say this as someone who has a bad relationship with my mother. Like, JFC, guys, get it together! This may still be the boy's treehouse, but there's no reason to throw a "no girls allowed" sign on it.
@Haru17 Exactly. Also, here's some additions for every gamer who's used "feminist" as an insult who's about to rage over this:
1. We know that you are talking about Anita Sarkeesian when you say that.
2. "I know a girl who doesn't think it's sexist to say that!" is not a legitimate excuse.
3. "WAAAH! POLITICALLY CORRECT!" is an even worse excuse.

I liked Sonic Unleashed more than both Colors and Generations.
Completely disagree with Generations (I reckon it's the best Sonic game in 20 years!), but I definitely prefer Unleashed to Colors. In fact, I never really understood why Colors received so much praise... I just find it very bland and tedious whereas Unleashed and Generations have more moments of exhilaration.
