@gcunit How can you not get any fun or pleasure from playing Tetris?

I've never found Tetris to be enjoyable, either. The most fun I've had with Tetris was Stage Racer from Tetris Party Deluxe, and that plays nothing like actual Tetris! XD
When all is said and done PlayStation and Xbox will be apps you install on your tv and pad. Nintendo will make the last physical console and while the few who buy it will love it, it will fail.
@kkslider5552000 are you in Europe? In the us that thing was everywhere during its launch holiday season and came bundled with Mario kart. Nobody wanted them was the issue.

Have you tried Tetris Plus? Best version of Tetris. You have to clear away blocks so a little man can reach the bottom before the spiked ceiling impales him.
@faint They released that thing after the Wii U was out. Also, everyone and their grandmother had a Wii already. After all, the Wii was pretty affordable compared to the competition.

@MrMario02 it was also 50 less than a Wii when it came out but nobody wanted it. How would you feel opening a new console with online Mario kart and realizing you can't connect?

they didn't market it well and besides, who cares if it came with Mario Kart? EVERYONE ALREADY OWNED MARIO KART WII. IT LITERALLY SOLD 35 MILLION COPIES.
Not to mention most people had stopped caring about Wii during 2011. Comparing Wii's popularity from like 2007 through 2012 is like a go to example of how dramatically things can change in popularity of products.
Also it came out a year later in the US. It debuted in Canada first. Trust me, no one cared about Wii Mini a year after it was announced. NO ONE.
But considering this is a failure of the concept is the dumbest thing ever. It's like saying first person shooters suck because Homefront: The Revolution sucked. It's like if you opened an italian restaurant, had it be in an awful location, told no one, and then when it failed said "WELL I GUESS NO ONE LIKES ITALIAN FOOD."
@kkslider5552000 how about the 2ds? That's another failure of the same concept. It's only sold 2 million in the us to date. It came out in 2013
in the context that it exists as a product for a niche audience of people who can't deal with 3D (mostly very young children) yet still want a 3DS and that it is literally a 3DS that's not called a 3DS, 2 million seems somewhat reasonable to me. If Nintendo was expecting it to do even half as well as 3DS classic, that'd be another thing though. I don't know what they expected.
@kkslider5552000 are you kidding? It's unlikely that 2 million units did anything other then cover rnd. It's a stripped down device to save money on cost to the consumer just as the above person was suggesting the industry do.

maybe? But like, it was called 2DS. Its named basically exists to confuse a general audience. When people see: 2DS vs. 3DS, most don't think "oh 3DS has 3D and 2DS doesn't". They think "why would I get this when the 3rd DS is out? 3DS right?"
I think the ultimate problem for a lower costing version of a console though, is that even ignoring Nintendo not getting how to do this (and barely trying), it's very difficult to do so. If people can't afford as much, they're presumably not spending as much time focusing on the newest technology. So you'd need even more broad and seen by everyone marketing, but that costs more and more of course.
I'm saying it should happen, I'm not saying it is remotely easy, I should've clarified. I just think Wii Mini was bad at this even ignoring that.
But Nintendo has done well usually when that's the starting point instead. Like I assume one of the reasons consoles sell their best in their 2nd and 3rd years is that people seriously will save up for quite a while, and sometimes mostly for the sake of getting that 1 or 2 game/s. So it's not like it would be some genius way to make short term profit, but I do feel finding a way to really grab people with a smaller budgeted version could have long term benefits. Especially in terms of handhelds.
I think Wii U having a basic version was a good start, but unfortunately it wasn't enough of a price difference to matter much and also it was Wii U.
I have to say: the first time I read your comment, I thought that bit was your reponse to "how can anyone enjoy Tetris?" I think my mind nearly imploded trying to comprehend that.
I've never really cared for “stack da blocks!“ puzzle games, so, Tetris is kinda meh for me.
The only games of that type that I've actually enjoyed somewhat are Meteos and Puzzle & Dragons (so much so that I own P&D Z / P&D SMB Edition, although I havn't played the mobile game in a while).
Same for me, honestly, except I also enjoy Tetris. But yeah, outside of those 3, I never really cared much for the genre.
@faint
1. Price doesn't matter if the console is irrelevant.
2. Price doesn't matter if everyone and their grandmother already owns it.
3. Okay, maybe add back in the online functionality, but no multimedia features.

@Haru17 Why do you think it's the worst? I personally think Echoes is the least enjoyable of the lot, as I didn't like, for example, the limited beam ammo and shooting crystals for light.
