Let's face it, even if Nintendo maintains a good relationship or possibly the best relationship, there is noway that third party games can sell just as well as Nintendo games exclusively on Nintendo systems.

They don't need to sell as well as the exclusives, they just need to sell well. I wonder if Nintendo could shift their game releases to not as busy 3rd Party months, like how the big 3rd Party games come ot in fall and winter, could Nintendo still have successful software launched in Summer? Maybe they could strengthen their 3rd Party support by not directly competing with big 3rd Parties titles for a few years.

Do you know why Sony and Microsoft have no issues with third party relationships? No, its not because they make their systems powerful. Its simply because their main IPs sell poorly/ are nowhere reaching to the sales of third parties out there that's why no matter how poor the Vita sells, devs will gladly support it because they know that Sony doesn't give a damn about their main IPs nor do they have any interest in making more of them.

If Microsoft and Sony ever cared about their IPs, then why are IPs like Banjo-Kazooie screwed up?

As for Nintendo delaying games, I don't think that will work either seeing as how Nintendo is the only one who can convince people to get their systems in the first place.

Urm, what? From just a few quick google searches...

3 of the top 5-selling PS3 games are 1st party exclusives.

At least 2'8".

@Buizel I think I should rephrase that a bit. Their IPs when compared to third parties sell less than third parties.

And also the fact that they don't expand their IPs more than what Nintendo does very often.

No... That isn't how this works. 3rd Parties and Microsoft/Sony titles are all geared towards the same demographic (mostly) and this helps them target their audiences. 3rd Parties don't care about out selling each other when they can just sell well and make profit. Sure EA and Activision have competing franchises, but neither of them have cancelled Battlefield/Call of Duty because the other one has sold more, they just care about selling well.

Devs support the Vita because software sells pretty good and it is easy to support the system.

Nintendo has selling power on their system, and releasing their games during busy seasons will cause 3rd Party games to be over looked, that is why releasing their games during slower months could help improve Nintendo's 3rd Party situation and not harm them very much since they seem to be able to sell their games during any part of the year lol

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

I just bought Sticker Star yesterday, I've been playing it for about 4 hours and I absolutely love it!

I was having a conversiation about gaming classics in a forum thread in a nintendo centric site and i find it hard to believe that many Nintendo gamers have no knowledge of classic pc games. Heck no one there knows The classic black isles games such as planescape or icewind dale series. I find it weird since before i got a wiiu many nintendo gamers always suggests to me that PC and Nintendo is the best combination.

@DarthNocturnal i do get that but i just assumed that seeing the current situation there would be more pc gamers(i mean old ) that are nintendo fans out there.

Yeah i love AOE. Huge fan of RTSes and grand strategy games! Rise of Nations was good. Currently replaying sins of a solar empire.

@AlliMeadow Pleased to hear it about Sticker Star. I've never tried it but I think I'm going to pick it up now it's had a price drop for the Selects edition.

You guys had me at blood and semen.

@gcunit it almost feels like a 3D platformer with focus on turn-based combat. It isn't much of an RPG though, so I get why some people don't like it, but for an action-adventure game it's great.

Fire Emblem fates wasn't as good as Awakening, in my opinion. Awakening had much better characters that I got attached to. Fates just doesn't have that. There is almost too much to do and keep up with. I bought Birthrite and Concquest when the first released and gave up on both of them a long, long time ago.

tbh, I feel like pre-2000s at least, there's a massive gap between console and PC gaming in terms of anyone knowing anything about each other (even more so when you take into account differences between American and European markets).

If it's any consolation, that comment was the first time I've ever heard that anybody preferred Fates over Awakening. At the very least, Metacritics, Famitsu, and a limited circle of fans that I've conversed with outside this forum seem to agree that it's not as good, though most seemed to still enjoy it mechanically, though some had a multitude of complaints even there. I've haven't played it, since as far as I can tell, the whole "three versions, three experiences" thing was a total bust, so I'd be stuck having to pay a lot of money just to get the Revelations version that...probably should've whole game in the first place. (BTW, sorry to everyone I argued with last year about that, since it seems like you guys hit it on the nose...)

For as much as people are mad about Mighty No. 9, (DISCLAIMER: I haven't actually played it, I'm just going off of the general consensus of the game) people should remember that ComCept was starting to behave dubiously since the kickstarter for Red Ash. This isn't 100% undisputable proof that Yooka-Laylee and Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night are going to be mediocre, this is probably just a one-off case.

Despite that, the sad reality of it is people irresponsibly using their phones too much and not being cautious of their surroundings.

Pokemon GO quite simply destructive. I know there are many responsible users of the game, but it has been made clear already that there are also many irresponsible users (many of which are presumably children as well).

Destructive? Really? If a girl can find a dead body while being glued to her phone, ya got nothing. Especially when you're constantly warned to "look out" by the game.
It's common sense, and people pay more attention to this warning because a Pokemon is telling them.

If someone isn't paying attention to their surroundings when playing Pokemon Go, that is completely that person's fault if something happens.

It's like saying that it's Nintendo's fault that people didn't wear the Wii Remote wrist strap and then broke things when they threw the remote by accident.

And people did blame Nintendo for that. Because people are dumb, and/or scum to varying degrees. But in the end, all Nintendo can do is try their best to be careful while making their entertainment products, and they did. Heck, it sounds like they did more than most companies in their position. But at the end of the day, all the warnings in the world amount to nothing if they're blatantly ignored. We all just have to trust that the end-user is intelligent enough to put their personal safety above their immediate gratification, or barring that (children are Pokemon's main target audience, after all) they're being overseen by a responsible adult who will look out for their well-being when out in public...and deal with the consequences when some of them fail to hold up their end of the bargain...

@CreamyDream I'd argue it's the same discussion, but I guess it's still too heavy for a general thread like this. I had a long post written up, but I think I'll save it for another time, there's a lot to it, with the biggest point being that people have bad priorities, and smartphones being treated like necessities rather than a privilege earned through hard work (just like every other luxury item) is a big example of that, the consequences of which have been exemplified through our discussions about Pokemon GO...

...it was really long...I hope I get to post it someday...
