@Socar rambling rambling blah blah blah. If you didnt want people disagreeing with you and replying to your opinions then why the hell post your opinion in a FORUM???

diwdiws

Socar

@diwdiws cause its unpopular, what's there to agree or disagree on? I disagree with most opinions here but I don't often reply back now do I?

After so long...I'm back. Don't ask why

@Socar so what if you dont reply?! Its not all about you! It may be an unpopular opinion thread but its also an venue for discussion. Thats basically the purpose of a FORUM. What you want basically is for people to post their opinions and no one is allowed to reply? Well tough luck guy.

diwdiws

Socar

@diwdiws Um...news flash for you, the first page of this thread specifically suggest to not reply to the opinions so if you didn't catch that, well, you might as well now.

@Socar
first, he did not specifically suggest to not reply to the opinions he implied it.

Second, as you said it was a suggestion not a rule

third: who cares what he said, is he the moderator? this is a forum, as far as im concerned I or anybody else can reply to whoever they wan

diwdiws

Socar

@diwdiws Yeah well, if you go through the history of this thread, many seem to argue countless amounts of times even outside of me. So in that sense, that suggestion might be handy for this tread.

Honestly....I don't see why we even need this tread seeing as how worse its become.

Would it be an unpopular opinion to posit that the Unpopular Opinion thread has become unpopular?

You guys had me at blood and semen.

@gcunit not sure if the thread has become unpopular or the constant posting of a particular member. I don't have a problem with it but it seems others do

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

LaserdiscGal

The only reason why we keep this thread open is so people don't complain and derail other threads.

That and this thread is good for a laugh or two.

@Danksparce That's very good reasons. XD Particularly the first. I don't really see many threads get too derailed, but perhaps I'm just not looking for them.

But yeah. The irony of the unpopularity is quite funny.

Ontopic, I honestly don't think Skyward Sword is as deserving of the backlash it got...

If it were unpopular, there would be fewer people here

If we could just downvote silly posts this thread would go smoother, it's just too hard to ignore the propaganda Ninty is god and third party is the devil statements.

I disagree with the SS controls backlash (although it does make it hard to lie down in bed to play it) but the linear backlash I do agree with.

Ehhhhh... maybe. Sometimes downvotes themselves prompt a reaction, from what I've seen on other forums.

It's an option, but it may be a double-edged sword.

It's a pretty bad idea, I personally think it'd just cause more arguments.

In this case Artwark just posting makes a reaction, this way you can disagree without having to reply.

Since when did I say that Nintendo is almighty. I'm only defending Nintendo on things that people think they did horribly wrong or are bad for the industry and rant at dumb things like Fates having two games instead of one.

I am tired of the extreme level of backlash Nintendo often gets when the things they do don't really affect so much in terms of quality and yet, its ok to not backlash third parties because third party logic. Blame Nintendo for being kiddie but don't blame third parties for not giving kiddie games. Blame Nintendo for rehashing games over and over but don't blame third parties for rehashing them over and over.

You guys seem to lose hope on Nintendo to the point that you're losing every optimism to support Nintendo even. Sure, they screwed up the Wii U, they aren't giving us F-Zero and they are using Amiibo in inconvenient ways but if they make fun games, does it really matter?

@Jump I kinda agree with the linearness, but I think it's more a case of too few side quests. Both Twilight Princess and OoT were incredibly linear, but they have sidequests in between, to break it up a bit.

I think the "Song of the Hero" section is unnecessary, and the Imprisoned could've been better, but I actually quite like the fights with Ghirahim, so I think that says more about the Imprisoned's boss fight than having a repeating boss. It has one of my favourite dungeons, in the Ancient Cistern, so it's really a game of two halves. Excluding the very final boss, the story was pretty decent, and the dungeon collectables were actually usable, rather than being shiny medals that sit on your collection screen to do nothing. The items were on the whole, good, especially with the control scheme, barring the gust bellows, which could've been utilised a bit better. But that's nitpicking.

A puzzle solved is its own reward.

I think I actually prefer linearity in a game. The size of my backlog says I don't want to be spending time wandering around wondering where to go and whether a particular path is going to get me to the goal any quicker.

I've not played much of Skyward Sword, and I agree with the common complaint that the introductory stage was too long/slow, but in general I like it.
