I'd be fine with it if they used PC as a 3rd party. PS4 and Xbox One are utterly worthless machines outside of a rare exclusive here or there, and Nintendo shouldn't waste their time with them.

What's wrong with the PS4 and Xbox One?
I can't see Nintendo on PC, or at least not primarily. Considering their focus on the living room (or on the go, in case of handhelds) and often casuals, I think console is a better market for them. I don't see many building a gaming PC to play Mario or Pokemon.
@kkslider5552000 Well, potentially even less hardcore content than Wii, cos all the 3rd parties are keeping their hardcore content away from Nintendo because of the Wii and the Wii U sales. Lack of graphical parity is what caused it, me reckons.
You guys had me at blood and semen.
What better way to celebrate than firing something out of the pipe?

That's actually impossible. Even if Nintendo tries, nothing they will do will ever be as casual as "old people playing Wii bowling."
Also, that's blatantly not happening since their casual stuff is going to mobile anyway.

Except Pokemon seems to be pushing those audience into their main consoles....Probably why Nintendo is trying the mobile market......?
It's kinda pointless to not focus on hardcore to some degree anyway, imo. Wii would not have had the same level of success if Wii Sports was the only thing it had going for it. And tbh, it isn't like Mario Kart or anything is exactly that hardcore (even Smash Bros is considered one of the easiest fighting games to get into).
So my other point would be, who cares? Wii still got 2 more Metroids.
Actually as a side note, it's interesting how opposite the 2 most popular consoles of the past 2 generations have been. The Wii succeeded by being casual and all the hardcore gamers had to come along to see what the big deal was about (though obviously hardcore Nintendo fans got it regardless). PS4 became the blatant winner to everyone at E3 beforehand for hardcore gamers and that made it the only console worth even acknowledging for more casual players. People's worries about NX become irrelevant nonsense to me when you realize how quickly console success isn't the same every single time (which we should've learned going from Wii to Wii U).
I think if Nintendo actually tried to target kids and casuals more, they would be making more games like Call of Duty and less like Splatoon. I think average console players are the casual audience now. Before people get upset, I said average console players, so that probably doesn't mean you since you are on a gaming forum reading this lol. I honestly feel like Nintendo is getting a tighter focus on certain markets and will be targetting "core" players with their next console. They have mobile apps and games in the works, it would seem odd to target them with a different machine too. We will see what happens but we still don't know anything about the NX.
People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

I suppose it depends what you deem a "success". Based on console sales alone (and I wouldn't be surprised if the 360 and PS3 managed to sell more games than the Wii), Wii was the most successful of last generation, but one could argue that Xbox 360 had the most success, selling a large number of units (multiple times that of the original Xbox), helping to establish the Xbox brand amongst core gamers, and for being relevant for over a decade. PS3 was also a moderate success in staying fairly competitive, but probably considered a failure going by Sony's usual standards. Wii was successful at the time, but may have actually been somewhat damaging to Nintendo's reputation amongst certain audiences.

Japanese games are selling terribly on those machines. Going third party on them wouldn't solve Nintendo's problems. It would make them worse.

Kinda hard to judge as there haven't really been many high profile Japanese games this generation. Street Fighter V has sold poorly, but has found most of its success on consoles. Bloodborne has seen great success worldwide despite being a Japanese title and PS4 exclusive. MGS5 has also done fairly well. It doesn't seem to me that the consoles are the issue — moreso the output of the Japanese developers.
You guys are losing faith in Nintendo.....maybe you might want to give up on them and move over to something else cause I sure as hell am a Nintendo 99% fan. (the one percent is a fan for some third party devs out there....like SEGA for example).
The second opinion..... Stories these days are not well written on games anymore...and yeah I can get used to that when it comes to Nintendo as long as the gameplay is great. But in that case, why even have a small plot to begin with....it looks as though only Adventure games and Visual Novels seem to do justice for stories because even RPGs are starting to fade away in the story department.

@Yellowkoopa What certain games? Are you talking about the just spin off ones they released last year? If so, then why blame Nintendo for that when the Wii U's market is already niche to begin with?
So its not ok to lose faith in third parties but its ok to lose faith on Nintendo?
@Socar why do you have to lump all third parties as one entity? There are dozens or hundreds of developers, are you saying we should lose faith on them all as one?
@diwdiws Yeah why not? After all, majority of these devs aren't what they used to be and when its so jarring that many of these devs are stuck with dumb executives that can't seem to get the idea of games anymore (I'm looking at you, EA)
You seem to make justice that Nintendo doesn't care about its audience anymore with you stating that Devil's third microtransactions are as bad as any AAA game from third parties.
Next thing you'll say that last year Nintendo made horrible games when in reality, not only did we get a lot of good ones but also the fact that last year wasn't Nintendo's great year at all. Yet you won't give a damn about Satoru Iwata's death and that you'll say that "They didn't give me what I wanted, so I'll rant about them!"
What can they possibly give you at this rate? They already have almost nothing on the Wii U, they already tried getting third party support, what do you want them to do? Cancel the Wii U now and disappoint people like you or serve you better when you get the NX?
Really, the complains that Nintendo gets are so damn petty that I don't even know where to even start?
Having split paths on Fates is a bad thing....yet for something like Ys Book 1 and 2 to be divided as two games instead of one, that's ok eh?
Who said I'm a zealot? I'm not forcing anyone to agree on me here, this is what I think and what I personally feel. If you don't like the opinions, you can just ignore them since you already know my opinions mean nothing.
