This is perhaps more unusual than unpopular, but I find the Flounder Heights stage in Splatoon really depressing. For some reason I find it really bleak and it makes me sad when I play it. I can't quite put my finger on why, it may be the lighting.
Unusual is an understatement here

Mighty No.9 just needs to come out and then pass away so we can forget this sadness.
If the Duke of Bad Games aka Sonic the Hedgehog has to have his Twitter make fun of it, and people agree, then it's becoming too embarrassing.
Well I guess when I say I hope people forget, is I'm looking forward to the day we mostly move on from the terror we're in now. It's like purgatory. It's after we've found out this is a disaster but before it's released, so we can actually have the disaster in our hands, we know what's coming and we can't stop it. Nobody can.
Random other opinion; I'm really bummed the WiiU didn't get a real Animal Crossing game and actually surprised they didn't at least pull a City Folk and give us a "almost like New Leaf" kind of game. That little AC app they turned off at the end of 2012 or 13 had really good looking animal models. The abysmal amiibo game, looked visually really good. I hope the NX gets one soonish after launch since New Leaf is roughly dead imo.
I mean people play it still, but it's so beyond it's prime and it gets no new attention.
@Buizel Look. I don't want to be negative ok and we can always look for games that have our tastes and play them. But the way the industry and these damn third parties are behaving to the gaming community nowadays is really stupid.
Recently....Capcom is now telling us that they are going to make finished games even if it means a delay.....do you have any idea how dumb that sounds when its suppose to be like that? That's like saying you're not doing your job well and all of a sudden, you tell your boss that you'll work harder when YOU'RE SUPPOSE TO DO THAT FROM THE BEGINNING!!!!!!
I want to stay positive I really do. I'm not bashing SEGA like how I used to do because I'm trying to be nice to SEGA. I mean, The latest Total War game went out fine so I got no issues in that.
I'm just saying this. Maybe third parties need to think twice like Nintendo before doing something dumb.
Maybe make their games accessible so that well, gamers won't get lost or something into forcing other players to get the game. Or how about not putting microtransactions on a AAA game?
Sure even Nintendo makes mistakes at times but those mistakes are just bare bones compared to these parties.
I get it ok. I get that there's that variety that third parties have that Nintendo simply doesn't. I get that people like Dragon Quest compared to Pokemon because Dragon Quest has something valuable that Pokemon doesn't. I GET IT OK!?!!?
But I simply love Nintendo games better because I'm too used to it. That's that. I know that if Nintendo makes a game, whether the story is shallow or dull or whether I expected more doesn't really matter because I get fun out of their games...that's all that matters to me. I didn't like much of Birthright or Revelation but they are fun games to their own right.
@DarthNocturnal@jump I've played the remastered original of tomb raider. It plays a lot like Zelda in control wise and it has that similar exploration and solving puzzles like Zelda. The only difference here is that it has that depth of realism that Zelda games don't provide simply because Zelda is fantasy and Raider isn't.
Rant:
Gettin real tired of Skyward Sword controls and some mechanics now. The robo pirate on the ship protecting the Lanayru Flame, wtf was that.
I never had to use the shield much but every time I'd try and counter his attacks, it was like only a 25% chance it was going to actually shield the way to motion controls wanted you to. Lost 2 shields and 3 heart potions just trying to actually do anything. Then soon after when the helper robot that likes Fi, when he "helps" carry the water basin to the top of the volcano. Talk about not helping. He'd go directly toward enemies instead of evading/stopping, and do his usual HELP ME HELP ME WHATS WRONG WITH YOU LETTING ME GET HIT!?!? I had to redo that 3 times, luckily enemies do not respawn.
Then I hate that every time you restart the game it feels the need to alert you of when you find relics/bugs that you've already found like it's a brand new thing. I'm being pursued in the Twilight Realm and you want to stop and be happy about a relic sthu!!!!
Enemies are all lame, tired of the all the Bokoblins, random stupid Deku Baba that doesn't get sliced even if you slice in the direction of it's mouth and Lizaflos that have a bizarre defense you can't penetrate. Miyamoto must have had a heavy hand in this since there are no new enemies.
Opinion: this is turning out to be the worst Zelda game for me. I like the story and the art and everything else but a lot of these details and minor annoyances are really adding up.
I played TP Wii barely a year ago and it wasn't as ridiculous in any sense as this can be.

I don't actually think you get it or you try to not be negative as you post the same things over and over again to the point I don't even understand why and what you get from it.
1. Its too expensive to bring all three games to one: Think about it for a second. Either one of these games alone costs about 1 GB which is the same size as that of Kid Icarus Uprising. Adding three games in one is going to make it expensive because its basically three games bundled in one.
I can say the same thing about Metroid Prime Trilogy which just basically modify's the game engine and only makes the graphics better. Yet, for the time of its release, it ended up being too damn expensive unlike now where its cheap.
But for Fates, unless the next generation comes, its impossible to expect the game to come at a cheap price for 40$ because again, you get three individual games and since the special edition is sold out, it'll be even more expensive to restock them and make them cheaper. Removing the art book and some other goodies can't possible cutshort the price tag.
2. There's no definitive ending : I've played all the three games and they are made in such a way that the games have their own independent story. Yes, some chapters play similar and there's some reference in the other paths as well but they don't do enough to make you think that the games are the same nor do they do anything ridiculous that you need some knowledge from the other game to play this if you want to get a better story because these are just minor and really don't ruin the path that you choose to play.
3. Its to please fans: Those like me who loved Awakening is where Birthright is all about and those old fans who want Fire Emblem on what its suppose to be is Conquest. That's it, its as simple as that. Its to please us that this is being done and rightfully so because I'm glad that I got Conquest first and then Birthright because well....Birthright has some flaws atleast for me.
And as for Revelation......honestly, I can't think why they even decided to do this path because its basically to satisfy the Fates players and it doesn't feel like its a standalone game and since it tells you to play both Birthright and Conquest, I'm going to say that it acts as a DLC rather than its own game.
And finally it comes to this.
4. Its not Pokemon! : Think of it. If it does feel like a cash grab, then how is it that when you choose a path, you can't recruit units that are against you? For Pokemon, for whichever game you pick will have certain pokemon exclusive to each version so you require to trade in order to get those pokemon so in a way, Pokemon is kind of a cash grab even though these Pokemon aren't really required to fully enjoy the experience unless you wish to catch all pokemon.
Here, it does none of that. You pick a path, you're stuck with the units that you deal with. And the units that you get on either side are balanced enough that you won't feel any regrets that these guys are weak on this side compared to the other. The only thing is that the designs of the character may affect whether you will like this path or not and for me it did because I didn't find the designs of Birthright all that great except for a few so I picked Conquest instead because I like the designs there better.
And really, why are you ranting over this? We should all be happy that Fire Emblem is getting the fame that it rightfully deserves. We should all be happy that an IP that was once a niche one next to F-Zero, Advance Wars and many more is now a Major IP for Nintendo!

3DS Cartridges are capable of holding all the games at once. They can save space by reusing assets from one version. I seriously doubt you'd have to put all 3 games in separately.
I can say the same thing about Metroid Prime Trilogy which just basically modify's the game engine and only makes the graphics better. Yet, for the time of its release, it ended up being too damn expensive unlike now where its cheap.
Why was it too damn expensive? What evidence supports this?

Nintendo chose $80 because that's what fans would pay for. They could sell it for $60 if they really wanted to. Granted there is enough game to warrant the $80 price tag.
Because you're trash-talking most 3rd parties like they're all the same while Nintendo never seems to do anything wrong. I believe most of the responses are examples to point this out.

It is my professional opinion, not sure if unpopular, that people here need to look up the definition of microtransactions.
Though to be honest mistaking amiibo for microtransactions is just so funny that I would honestly like to hear what sort of logic ties the two together. It isn't good logic I'd wager.
@Lzeon Tell me one game that is capable of storing a lot of data. Don't include the New 3DS here as that is a much more powerful system.
There are reasons as to why it is not that simple to simply do as what it seems to see fit. Its called budget limitations. If this game were a New 3DS exclusive, it would be a LOT easier to put all three games in one since the system is more powerful than the older ones. Thing is, Nintendo didn't want to do this realizing that they have a great userbase so there is the reason for that.
@DarthNocturnal Xenoblade is New 3DS exclusive which obviously can store more data than the original models. Its that reason that the SNES can only be played on New 3DS and its that reason alone that Fates was split into three.
Tell me one 3DS game besides chronicles that can store more than 1 GB cause other than maybe Uprising, I can't think of any.
I will agree however that Nintendo can release the three games bundled digitally and give a cheap price for it. But I don't think that will happen.
As @TheLastLugia said, there's a difference between DLC and Microtransactions.
All Microtransactions are DLC, but not all DLC is a Microtransaction.
"Microtransaction" refers to a sub-category of DLC that is well, micro. An example would be 99¢ for a one use item (many F2P games use this as a crutch, making it difficult to progress without said items, while making them hard to come by during regular play, so people are encouraged to pay & pay again to progress. They have even been used on the 3DS, in a more optional manner, as I believe you can buy some sort of potion in this manner in Bravely Default, but the game never relies on them).
Now, the ethics of Fates' 3 paths being sold seperately, amiibo locked content, and extra map packs aside, they aren't Microtransactions. They are one time payments for something you can use (and often benefit from) time and time again.
Currently Playing:
Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)
@RR529 Couldn't have summed it up better myself. Microtransactions are by their very purpose potentially limitless in nature, to provide a constant source of income for the greedy companies who employ them in their games (many that already cost at least $60 to even posses day 1). If you're selling even hundreds of pieces of DLC in you game, whilst unquestionably a questionable thing in and within itself, you're just selling extra content that the player can buy and download. Hence the term DLC. There is also the physiological manipulation that occurs in many games that use microtransactions, making games more of a grind or more difficult in order to test the players' patience and make them cave in.
Say what you want about Nintendo's DLC practices, the overpriced Smash ones, the Fire Emblem map pack or even amiibo, but they're not microtransactions, not like they are in the Badge Arcade, because it's as deep as the player's wallet. Though the fact that the Badge Arcade is free-to-download makes it far less insidious than the many, many games this gen that have had the nerve to charge $60 up-front only to then employ physiologically manipulate microtransactions to squeeze as much money as they can, often to the detriment of the quality of the game.
Until the day Nintendo do release such a game (I do think it will happen eventually with how well most of these games have done unfortunately) then I have that much more respect for them.
@Socar fair enough, i have all those games but I mainly play single player so those microtransaction goes unnoticed by me. however, mcrotransactions in those games doesn't really affect any gameplay or give any advantages (most are just cosmetics) so i don't really know what your complaining about. Nintendo's Devils Third has worst microtransactions than those games you mentioned
