Hey Canis, I haven't been home (been with a sick relative for the past few days) so I haven't had time to play my PS3. Sorry. I'll most likely be free over the weekend though.

On a side note... I have been able to play GGXXAC+R on Vita and its awesome! I hate that Ino chick though...

Boss I-No's not so bad outside of the one attack that has a chance of being completely unblockable. If you get unlucky, you could be screwed...but the other two forms of the attack are actually avoidable with practice.

Th new Killer Instinct looks awesome! Are people still hating on it? I remember such a knee jerk reaction to its E3 reveal. But I've been watching some videos and it looks so fun and faithful to the original games. The character designs seem like a perfectly natural evolution for most of the roster. I'd love to play it but I really don't want an xbox one. I think it really sucks it's a microsoft exclusive. It would have gotten a lot less initial heat and probably be even bigger right now if it wasn't.

I think it being DLC: The Game "Free-to-Play" is the bigger issue here...

Yeah I almost bought an Xbox One for KI but then that right there plus all of MS online and DRM polices at the time made me go with a PS4.

Oh yeah now I remember that.. I was pretty excited for it, then saw the free to play thing and said f*** it and stopped following the game. I thought that was somewhat remedied with a disc release or something though? I noticed some retail copies for the new Killer Instinct on eBay a few times recently.

Yeah if I want KI I will just download the Arcade version of the original KI.

Although they didn't promote it particularly well they did release a retail version a while ago for season one. It's pretty cheap now, if I recall.

Ah-hah! Knew I wasn't crazy. Well that kind of remedies the main issue I had with it. The other big issue is I don't want an Xbox One over the PS4.

I should get Killer Instinct for my SNES, really want to play some KI now. My local arcade has it but it'd be easier to get friends over at my place than there.

Or that new Android console I heard about, the Nexus Player. Any decent machine that uses Android tech should be fine, but the OUYA seems to be sold out at the moment. I can't find anywhere where you can buy it...

Yeah a friend of mine mentioned that too, he wanted to get one after seeing mine. You cant even get one from the OUYA site.

I wouldn't go for Android. Go for something to run retroarch on the bare hardware. (There is a big writeup about why Android is bad for retroarch on the libretro site).

The new raspberry pi 2 with controllers attached straight the gpio's will probably be perfect pretty soon now.

Isn't the Raberry Pi just a learner's kit? Hell, it doesn't even have a case, it's just an open frame. :/

The second one has significantly more power (The GPU was always pretty damn good).

If you want to just pay somebody I suspect before long someone will do a case plus something like this (Obviously at some sort of markup).

Maybe the MIPS Creator CI20 will be another option it depends on whether a community develops around it (PS1/PS2/N64 are all mips so a mips board might be advantageous).

I did read about those performance issues when I looked into the Nexus Player, actually. I have a PC that I can readily hook up to a 32" LED TV, so I don't need something like that, but if I wanted a cheap emulation machine for anything older than the PS2, I wouldn't mind either of those platforms (But I wouldn't use Linux, still pretty sour about the last time I tried that. A "do it yourself" OS does not appeal somebody like me...)

Been playing Garou: Mark of the Wolves on my PC (Via MAME) with a Saturn-Style USB controller I bought from eBay, and it is great. Still a blast to play, and having a decent controller makes it 100x more playable. I'm sure a stick might make it better(?), but considering I only spent less than $20 on this controller, I'm pretty happy.

Also, just noticed that The King of Fighters '98: Ultimate Match and The King of Fighters 2002: Unlimited Match are both on Steam now, which means I no longer have to put up with the lousy 360 controller just to play them, nor do I have to bother with the PS2 port of '98, which wasn't the best, IIRC. Plus I'll have more to flex my new controller with...once they go on sale. Really hoping there's one by the end of next month, since I also want some other stuff that I'm itching to play...

Also hope Mark of the Wolves joins the other SNK games on Steam. It's on XBLA and came out on mobile phones two months ago, so it might not be too far off...
