Topic: The NintendoLife VGM Tournament: Best City / Urban Theme (Round One)

as someone who loves Megaman 3's music, yeah even I have to admit that's a bit much to start a song, especially outside of the context of the game

For the Super Mario World theme, I kinda love how it fakes out the conclusion several times. It’s like it doesn’t want to end.

From our opening set of matchups we have Skyward Sword moving on at 7-2, Super Mario World at 9-0, Splatoon 2: Octo Expansion at 6-1, The Great Ace Attorney 2 at 7-1, and Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna The Golden Country as well as Super Mario Galaxy 2 winning 4-4 tiebreakers. Since this round was a little late I’ll leave voting open until Thursday.

Some great matchups here. T&T's End Theme is one of the all-time greats in my opinion and I'm hoping that one will go pretty far in the tournament.

Mario 64 and Great Ace Attorney's staff rolls are both masterpieces in my opinion. Definitely some endgame competition there if you ask me.

I've never played any splatoon game, but I really like the music from 2's Octo Expansion. I kinda wish they sold that campaign as a standalone game.

@Eel Octo Expansion is phenomenal. It's almost worth buying Splatoon 2 alone just to play it. That would be awesome if you could play it separately, like Xenoblade 2's Torna or something.

I’m super late on this but props to whoever picked the Three Houses credits theme. Love that game so much

It's a shame the first half of that Pokemon one is nowhere near as good as the second half, but Kiseki is one of my favourite credits themes so I voted for it anyway. And of my two nominations in matchup 6 I definitely prefer Night in the Woods but it seems I'm the only one. Oh well, I can't complain whichever one wins there.

I always found the Resident Evil 2 one hilarious because of how corny the entire scene is. But I just can’t not vote for Wario Land 3’s.
