RIP to my cartridge of M&L: Dream Team, which got lost right as I was about to beat the game 😔

Sorry if I have a low mood, I’m just not doing great right now, I’m dealing with something tragic I do not want to go into on a nintendo forum site.

I have an idea to make short story telling about two teenagers who have great skills in computer which got tricked by mysterious man that lying to them to do his dirty job and when both of them realized, the bad guy try to escape with their stolen stuff but suddenly the little brother try to defend his brother after that bad guy hurt his brother. I want to make some dramatic scene, very eye tearing moment by make his younger brother sacrifice himself to protect his brother and defeat the bad guy. The next scene showing the young brother is get injured and say some last words before passing away. His brother hug him by crying and the final scene showing the peoples commemorate his young brother as the hero who saved the city. I really want to make my original short story that can make some of young kids grade 1 - 3 crying for the dramatic scene, guess I have to practice my acting skill in crying and quick change the emotional feeling for next scenes.

@Anti-Matter If I were you, I'd:

  • Make them sisters, the audience will get emotionally attached more easily
  • Make the younger sibling not wanting to die and crying that everything gets dark, before they pass away. It will traumatize the audience 100000x more than a grand speech
  • To add some salt to the wound, the people would commemorate the villain as the hero, because ultimately his plan would work and nobody except for the older sibling would know that the guy is a villain

Oh, if you want to know my plan for this brotherhood themed storytelling, I already planned those teenagers have opposite personality.

I named the older brother Dexter (15 years old, grade 9) for having right handed, friendly, confident, playful personality.
But the younger brother I named him Sinistra (13 years old, grade 7) for having left handed, sarcastic, rude, indifferent personality.
Despite of their opposite personalities, they still getting along well.

His younger brother Sinistra has better computer skill than Dexter despite both of them are genius in computer skill.
From my story plan, Sinistra actually already sensed something suspicious from that stranger by offering them some mysterious invitation.
That mysterious guy I named him STEALTH as their boss when they accept the offer to help in cyber world and become spies to get something "stolen", the ideas that I got from cartoon series like Kim Possible / Totally Spies.
They worked as spies by mysterious guy until once day Sinistra noticed something suspicious with the assignment they got when being spies. I'm still working in this idea as the next scene happen is they realized their assignment to get the "stolen" stuffs is actually helping the STEALTH to do his dirty job to terrorize the whole city with his stolen stuffs (still working the ideas what are the stolen stuffs) and it made Dexter and Sinistra really upset for being fooled by that mysterious guy. Sinistra who have better computer skill can detect the location of STEALTH when they try to stop that evil plan.
They are facing with the mysterious guy who is their ex-boss face to face. I'm still working with this situation to involve other characters such as the police, the mayor and their Dad who realized his kids become spies. As the villain try to start his evil plan, Dexter have initiative to attack that bad guy first but he got attacked back by STEALTH. It made Sinistra really angry and when STEALTH want to harm his brother, Sinistra try to stop the STEALTH evil plan. Some scenes happen, still working the situation that will happen but anyway after the STEALTH get defeated, it made Sinistra get injured so bad to protect his brother Dexter. Dexter comes after him and Sinistra with some words try to say something before he passed away. Dexter was so despaired to lose his brother and cry aloud, this scene I have to perform my crying acting that will look so convincing and probably will make some of my students crying for that death scene.

But after the storytelling finished, I will explain the decision of Sinistra to protect his brother despite of the cost by losing his life is something that they can learn, willing to sacrifice something to help other people that can be like these simple examples: helping their parents to clean the house despite they will lost their playing time, share their stuffs to other peoples to help them despite they have to lost their stuffs. I have ever watched kids movies like Doraemon adventure movie at Utopia, I saw the sacrifice scene to protect other characters. It was beautiful bittersweet scene that can be learned.

@EaglyBird I enjoy scaring (or at least entertaining) people, and the great thing is they pay for it! XD The reactions are the best. I don't even care if someone is scared as long as they enjoy themselves and aren't being a jerk (We have security just in case). You sound like you'd be fun in a haunted house ( ), though never feel pressured into doing anything you don't want to. One thing we're trained on is how to gauge if someone is truly done (if they don't outright say they want out) and then escort them out the nearest exit. I've been doing this long enough that I know the signs. Some are escorted out for medical reasons, though this is rare and usually a result of someone not paying attention to the rules...or thinking they can handle it.

On my nephew: Thanks! He will definitely be introduced to gaming in time. Whether or not he likes it will be up to him. Right now he's mostly interested in eating, sleeping, and filling diapers like a champ lol.

Currently playing: LoZ: Tears of the Kingdom, Mario's Super Picross (NSO)

Hope everyone here at Nintendo Life is doing well. It might be kind of a busy week for me, my family's been coming to town for a visit. So I'll be spending some time with them in some way.

Gah, the new Direct was good! A new F-Zero, Tomb Raider remastered trilogy, the Mario Kart 8 Course Pass' final update, Princess Peach Showtime! I'm so glad that's coming out right before my birthday in April. Between the game reveals, the new F-Zero, and the new Trolls Band Together trailer, watching Elemental, I had a great day.

Nice, I always have the habit to pre-order a few weeks before release if I pre-order a game. I think I'm going to get the Steam version of Trolls Remix Rescue first, just in event I get the Switch version for Christmas. It's basically tradition, a friend and I get each other a game every Christmas, so I'm going to wait on the Switch one in event that that is the game. He loves Metroid, I surprised him with Metroid Dread.

He did, and he is not wrong, lol. The arcade version is brutal because of the cheating CPU, even when set to very easy. It makes me wonder about other versions. I don't have the SNES or Genesis version to try, but I do have the DOS version from GOG, and very easy is easy, I can get to the second to last fight no problem, while the arcade version destroys me from fight three on. Yup, it's kind of funny given pay to win is a term some use for F2P games, but it can be applied to arcades. You're welcome.

Yeah, I could think of a couple of cartoon and movie tie-ins that were good too. The Cars games, they ended up being good racing games. Jimmy Neutron Attack of the Twonkies ended up being faithful to the cartoon it was based on, and so on. I don't think all licensed games are bad, some can be great experiences when care is put into the gameplay and being faithful to the source material. It does suck, that's why I love DRM-free PC games the most.

Yeah, it's just a fear I have. Yup, kind of like that. I watched someone play flight sims on PC, and it seems like an interesting genre. Piloting a plane, and I got a taste of it with the classic game Strike Commander.

Transformed had some players online up until Mario Kart came out, I played it online when I got my Wii U 9 years ago. Plenty did play Sonic & All-Stars Racing on Wii, some nights the lobby was packed.

Yeah, honestly, I haven't seen many live action remakes, only a few, and one in theater, being Aladdin.

Indeed. Also, how about that Princess Peach: Showtime. All the abilities Peach is going to have looks so much fun!

I enjoyed the Direct as well, there was some good announcements in it. I love how Daisy Circuit's coming to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, been wanting that course to come back for some time now. I didn't think that Nintendo would even consider doing anything regarding F-Zero... yet they made a battle royale game out of it anyway! Hopefully a new game will come out of it eventually. Princess Peach: Showtime honestly looks fantastic, I'm excited to give that game a shot. I like how they're remaking Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door as well. Though I've played it a ton on GameCube, I actually wanna try to get it on Switch since it was one of my favorite games growing up, and it's been a long time since I played it.

That sounds like a good plan. That's cool, I love Metroid as well. The 2D ones, at least. I did love my time with the first Metroid Prime, just haven't played enough of the other Prime games yet.

I think Mortal Kombat II was one of the first times I tried out a fighting game. It was via Midway Arcade Treasures 2. I don't recall what difficulty it was set on, but it was super tough right off the bat for me. I did try out Street Fighter II around the same time with a Capcom arcade game collection... the name of that collection is escaping me, I think it was called Capcom Classics Collection? Anyway, SFII was a bit easier, but still pretty tough. Didn't get quite into Street Fighter, but at least I got into Mega Man, lol.

There's also stuff like DuckTales for the NES. That was another Capcom-made game, and it's really good. I have the remastered one on the Wii U. I wanna get Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge at some point, I did hear that one is fantastic. I remember the first arcade game being pretty good, as well.

I didn't have Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing, just its two sequels. So I didn't know that. On the Wii, I pretty much just stuck with - you guessed it - Mario Kart Wii. lol

Agreed with you on Princess Peach: Showtime... loving the transformations that Peach can have! It looks like there's gonna be quite a lot of variety in its gameplay. I'm excited to see what else Peach will be in her play adventure... plus she looks adorable as a baker! <3

@MarioLover92 IMO Some of the world's best views are from an airplane; it's almost like a whole other world up there. Even if you're above (but not in) clouds, the sun shining on them makes it look like you're looking down at a fluffy white continent of hills and valleys. But yeah, I'm definitely not a fan of being processed like a commodity in security, and flight delays can seriously mess with everything.

My first roller coaster was a smaller yet classic wooden roller coaster when I was in the ballpark of 6 or 7 I think. No loops - most wooden roller coasters don't have inversions unless it's a steel/wood hybrid these days - and the track used some of the local terrain to great effect. I quite like the speed, and I do enjoy air time on roller coasters. Though I'm not someone who loves raising my arms lol. Light spinning rides are fine, it's just if they're spinning with a lot of force that bothers me. Depends on the center of force too. I can handle revolution type rides, but things like tilt-a-whirls seriously bother me.

SML1 didn't age very well IMO, but SML2 on the other hand did. At least the former introduced us to Princess Daisy. I think I vaguely recall playing either Wario Land II or Wario Land 3 temporarily on the bus back in the day; some kid was playing it on their Game Boy. I just remember being confused that the character kind of looked like Mario but wasn't lol. I have them all on the VC in some form or other. II is my favorite Wario Land title, but IMO it's hard to go wrong with any of them.

Oh I agree for sure. Those sky views are amazing for sure... they're my favorite part of flying for sure. It's one reason why I got more comfortable with flying as time went on. I remember having to wait seemingly forever the last time I dealt with a flight delay. That day, I had to get up super early as well, I think I had to get up at 4 am, so it wasn't pleasant. I really wanted to go back home.

That's cool, so I was about your age when I tried them out. Too bad I didn't take them very well... you handled it a lot better than I could, that's for sure. That teacup ride I mentioned didn't spin a whole lot I don't think, they would just slide around at high speeds. I didn't try out tilt-a-whirls. From the looks of it, I'm not sure if even I could handle it too well, lol.

Yeah I think SML2's the better game overall, too. SML1's a decent game, but its controls are pretty rough. It is a pretty short game too, which is all right since it was a Game Boy launch title. I like playing as Daisy, I picked her last time I played Mario Kart online. She's a cute and cool character for sure. Years ago, I did see someone from school playing one of the Wario Land games, I think it was WLII given the time frame. It was my elementary school days, and anytime I saw a kid with a Game Boy, most of the time it was Pokemon Red or Blue. Pokemon was everywhere back in the late 90s! I'd say my favorite Wario Land title is the first one. It's more similar to the Super Mario platformers and it was fun finding treasures in that game, so I felt quite at home with that one.

A lifelong Mario and Nintendo fan since the 90s!

I was today years old when I heard of a peculiar tale of a game called Mirror 2, thanks to a demo on a PS5 that caught my all perceiving eye.

Apparently Mirror 1 was a hentai game, and Mirror 2 was sold as a 16+ game so male perverts thought it was going to be the same. Now I do enjoy the suffering of others as much as everyone else, so I was delighted to see that that most people who bought it were like "oh no, the game is no hentai game so baaad".

What I didn't like about the situation though, was the fact that because of that, the developers of the game went bankrupt. And it's a shame since the game is actually quite nice. Sure, it does have some saucy content with girls in questionable poses and stuff, but it also features a couple of pretty well written and animated stories. With less sexappeal and more polished writing, longer stories and no male characters, it could have been a very nice visual novel entry. I mean every scene was animated, and nicely. You don't get that often.

Six pack dudes are still selling for different audiences.
