@Princess_Lilly This is why people need to run far away from AAA gaming. Much of that part of the industry has entirely given up on anything but a handful of trendy AAA game ideas. (which is a big reason why people went nuts for games like Hi-Fi Rush and Baldur's Gate 3, which aren't that)
@NeonPizza demo and full games is a different things. Why you hated one of the best game of this year?
But Spider-Man 2 more like original Spider-Man then Miles Morales. More of it, I like Spider-Man 1994 TV series and I feel happy that I finally can play Spider-Man in black costume. I never saw a disrupting and uninteresting cutscenes in Miles Morales
Spider-Man is definitely a game with enjoyable fighting system and great web swing. It's not a interactive movie like Until Dawn and Detroit Become Human. And it's one of the best game in this year for sure.
Everything from the depressing UI funeral music, hideous controller with tacky touch pad lights and staleness of it all makes this one of the worst consoles I've ever owned.
It's really sad that you can't enjoy the best modern console and the best controller that was ever made.
The way I see it, Nintendo is the only company left with half a soul.
Well...I never felt a "soul" in Nintendo games, but I felt a soul in games like Persona 3 or 5, World of Warcraft (till Pandas), Bloodborne, Death Stranding. I feel a soul in FF XVI right now.
I've always felt bitter towards PS2 since it was partially responsible for DC's demise
I understand you. Dreamcast have a many great games like Sonic Adventure 1-2, Crazy Taxi 1-2, Soul Calibur, Spawn, Skies of Arcadia, Jet Set Radio, MDK 2 and etc. I remember then I firstly saw a game on Dreamcast. The models was round and it really shocked me after PS1. And it's really hard to accept that PS2 was just better...But then you discover PS2 more and more, you'll understand why it happend. PS2 had a huge of lifetime and tons of great games. DC is just too small if we compare them. It's life was too short, but it gave us a lot of nice memories.
I have a plan to buy PS5 Fat machine in year 2024 as I can boost my budget from my salary in December 2023.
I cannot wait to play my cute PS5 games that I have collected since July 2022. 😊
Why peoples hating PS5 for cliche reasons?
I mean I can consider PS5 for the best machine to play cute kids games in 60 fps.
Not everyone buy PS5 for ultra HD realistic games.
@NeonPizza: the remake of 2 actually botched the scenarios. The original game had four actually-distinct scenarios, or to be more specific, two very distinct campaigns where the actions of the first character affect the course of the second character's story. While all four versions largely follow the same story beats, they still were worth checking out.
The remake "streamlined it" down to them being pretty much the same scenario. The main difference between Leon and Claire's sides of the story comes from their respective companion characters (Leon follows Ada, and Claire follows Sherry), and the main difference between the A and B scenarios (besides the remixed puzzle solutions) is simply how they begin and end (with A showing you the full beginning, and B showing you the full ending).
So while in the originals you had two different takes on the same story (divided in A and B scenarios, for a total of four) where both Leon and Claire did different things, on the remake you have one story where both Leon and Claire somehow did the same things twice, but with a few unique sections per character.
@AnVold
PS2 is my best machine to play DDR games and other Konami's Rhythm games such as Para Para Paradise, Beatmania IIDX, Guitar Freaks & Drummania, Pop'n Music, Keyboardmania + Martial Beat PS1 games.
PS2 is also my best machine to play The Sims Bustin' Out, K-1, Monster Farm 4, kids franchise games, etc.
@Anti-Matter I got my PS5 Fat then I discovered that PS5 Slim will have a detachable disk drive. It was unacceptable for me.
I got my PS5 for games that I want to play. I don't care if they'll be ultra realistic or not.
Just interesting, why you collected games on PS5 before buying a console?
@AnVold
Well, the machine can be wait until got price cut but the games, you have to get them before they are gone especially the underrated / unpopular games that being stocked with very few supply from the game shop owners.
So when I can get PS5 machine, I already have the games so I can immediately play my PS5 games.
I did the same thing for other machines like Switch, PS3, 3DS, Wii U, PS4, etc.
Get the games first then buy the machines.
My PS5 will also for playing some PS4 games that got 60 FPS boost such as Ratchet & Clank PS4, Cars 3 (Disney Pixar), Crash Bandicoot 4, Paw Patrol Grandprix (I supposed to get PS5 version but the PS5 version stock was sold out in my country Indonesia due to late to buy the game).
I called them grade promoted games, just like in the school. They are considered as "PS5" games also.
Also, I heard PS5 Fat will be still better than the Slim model in term of the cooler inside the machine.
@Anti-Matter I see. It's like I got my Nintendo Switch just before cartridge with Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna – The Golden Country was sold off.
I also use my PS5 for playing PS4 games. Many PS4 games you can upgrade to PS5 version. Even if they didn't get PS5 patch, they run as PS4 Pro version (I own PS4 Slim). So it's better if you just use your basic PS4.
@kkslider5552000 yeah, I get your point with Hi Fi Rush and Baldur, but at the same time, people somehow didnt go nuts with many other fantastic titles, and they still buy AAAs en masse. We know they will get worse, and we know people will still buy them, unfortunately.
I honestly think gaming media are to blame. Media sites and mags are just ad pamphlets with no backbone. New gamers will see them and just think that this is indeed the best the industy has to offer and buy another overpriced copypaste. Its really sad.
@NeonPizza The only exclusives I want are Rift Apart and Spider-Man 2…which unless I decide to dip into others on multi platform like Sonic Superstars, isn’t enough of a library for me uh the future.
@Eagly_lmtd_xmasskin NP at all lol. I will say I still haven't got around to Future Redeemed yet since I hit my gaming budget this month. Part of it went towards Christmas presents. Hopefully I'll grab the DLC next month unless any winter sales really persuade me. XD
@Sunsy Yep, the Oregon Trail games I have played had different occupations. Not much difference between them outside of how much money you start with that I recall. Though it has been a LONG time lol.
Yep, I'm intentionally picky with sugary things since I like...a lot of it. I will definitely eat many forms of brownies, muffins, and cupcakes too. Except carrot cake. Whoever came up with that combination is crazy. I quite enjoy cheesecake and most kinds of pie too. Not a big fan of some cream or meringue pies though.

@Eagly_lmtd_xmasskin I just ordered Spider-Man 2 and waiting for it's arrival. I plan to add Baldur's Gate 3, Sonic Superstars, Like a Dragon Ishin! and, maybe, One Piece Odyssey. If we talk about unreleased games, I plan to get Stellar Blade, Kuro no Kiseki, Ys X Nordics, Phantom Blade Zero and second chapter of FFVII Remake. Maybe I forgot something.
So I’m an idiot and now I have to buy a new TV. Is 60 hertz fine enough on a 65 inch display? Also the one I’m looking says it displays 60 hertz but has a motion rate of 240, does that mean it can go at 12 hertz? As you can tell I am kinda lost on this.
@blindsquirrel if you plan to use a modern consoles with it, I'd recommend to get TV with 120 Hz. A few games (like Ghostwire Tokyo) support more then 60 fps in HFR modes.
@MarioLover92 Oh, that's super lovely. Those Mario kits look really nice. I think it's a bit of a shame they didn't go for pretty dioramas as well, but if the current ones sell, Lego company will prolly do more. I had no idea that PIKO of all the manufacturers would have Christmas sets, they specialize in those super realistic models https://www.piko-america.com/collections/christmas
The speed controller with only 2 speeds sucks, but I have a fluent controller somewhere, that tool is possibly older than me, lol.
I'm a child at heart when Christmas comes around, not ashamed to admit it.
Also, Christmas Tree already? We usually set ours up right before the Eve. They remain fresh until Feb 2nd that way if we water it.
That'd be cool to see Lego Mario-themed dioramas, as well. Those Piko trains look nice... good to hear you have a better train controller, my Disney train set came with an analog speed controller as well. It was made by Lionel.
You and me both! Yeah, we have our Christmas tree all done. All decked out with lights, ornaments, and of course, the train! It's a faux tree that has branches you could insert or take off. We've had that same tree for many years, and it's still in nice condition. It's the same tree from my childhood, as well. Your tree is a real pine tree, huh? That's cool, I remember we had one for one Christmas long ago.
@MarioLover92 Thanks! Toon Link is a good choice by the original artist since I still consider him to be the most expressive Link. My method of blowing off steam works for about anything including programming lol. Just getting up and walking away for a bit or shifting gears gives the brain a nice break, or at least gives it something else to focus on. Programing mistakes are pretty common, especially when first starting out. That's why practice makes perfect; believe me, there is no perfect programmer (or perfect person in general). Game development - or anything you deem as fun TBH - is a good way to learn programming! Especially if it's something you really want to do. I've actually made an Arkanoid clone before in a now defunct dev environment called DarkBasic Pro. Same with an oil panic clone, the idea of which I borrowed from an old Game & Watch title. Wish I could still run those....
Shovel Knight: Shovel of Hope - played it on the Switch - was hard, but...well, sometimes fair. Unless you happen to die over a pit and lose a ton of loot. I did enjoy the game overall, but I have no desire to try the other games and expansions. I wonder how well I'll receive the liberation missions in MMBN5 now that it's been many years. I just recall not really caring for them much back in the day. There are much better SRPG implementations, though I don't think it was a bad one. Just way different from what I was used to then. I played all FEs up to the Switch. I own Three Houses but haven't gotten to it yet. And Fire Emblem Engage is on my Christmas list. I love the series but am a bit behind on the titles.
Anytime, I do like Toon Link quite a bit as well. I think he's the best Link for the holidays too. Ah yeah, I've definitely made mistakes when I first learned programming... I kind of thought it would be a walk in the park, at least the introductory class, but I was dead wrong... lol. All righty cool! I've had prior experience with C++, so good to hear that game dev is a good way to learn (or in my case, relearn) programming. I've been wanting to make games for a good while now, or at least trying to make games. That's cool. I know there's a tutorial that shows how to make a Mario clone, as well.
Ah yeah... it's worse if you die again before you get to your lost gold. Hate when that happens. I've played a decent bit of another one of the other games... I think it had Plague Knight as the protagonist? I know it was the one where you're throwing bombs as your main attack. That's cool, I've played a fair amount of the Fire Emblem games. I know you also recommended that I play more of Fire Emblem Echoes... been a while since I last played it. I don't recall getting stuck in that one just yet.
Sounds nice, that's the kind of lights I tend to use, it just makes everything look brighter. I still need to decorate the tree a bit more and set up the train, otherwise, I'm pretty much done. There's still some more ornaments to add to the tree.
Nice. My first Disney movie in theaters was Dinosaur, saw it with a class trip. Then the second was Ratatouille, which was my first Pixar movie in theater too. Other Disney movies I've seen in theaters include Toy Story 3, Cars 2 and 3, Finding Dory, Zootopia, Inside Out, and Frozen II. Yeah, it's a cool bucket. Sounds like a nice theater snack. I ate lunch before the movie on Monday, so I just got a drink in a Viva cup this time (pictured above, I got Poppy along with the popcorn bucket on day of release). I like these cups, they make going to see this movie feel more special. Plus, they can be washed out and saved. AMC even had a light up projector cup for Wish.
It was like a slide show. I don't play Smash much either, as fun of a game it is, I enjoy playing other games, and the only time I play Smash online is with my IRL friend, since I know the connection won't have too much issue. It has to do with distance I believe. It's weird too since Mario Kart and Splatoon have some decent net code that rarely lags. That's good Mario Strikers has good online. It's so weird how some games have good online performance, and others don't. Not like the games are bad games, just poor performing online. That's good news on Splatoon 3, I was waiting for them to fix the disconnection issues before buying the game. Yeah, I knew it was him on the channel.
Sonic Advance 3 is so much fun in two player mode. Nice, I think I played Sonic Adventure 2 Battle with my friend a few years back, he has the Xbox port.
That will be nice, I only have two new ornaments so I'll get a picture of them. Technically three, I forgot I got the movie Sonic when Hallmark had clearance on ornaments last year. Indeed. My room is a lot nicer at night since I have my small tree up. At night, my room has a nice calming glow.
Yeah, inflatables don't really lasts. Not sure about decorations, but toys usually don't last hence why I have the microphone put away in it's packaging after inflating it for the picture. I pretty much wear only my favorite characters, so most of my clothes save for a few plain shirts, are that. Trolls, various Disney, some gaming ones with Peach and Sonic.
The holidays kept us busy. Yeah, usually I pay $20-$25 per shirt since I can only get adult sized character shirts online (try finding a shirt with Poppy on it in adult sized at a department store, it's impossible), so it was a really good deal. Plus I didn't need to leave home... even though I did to get some cold cuts from the local deli.
I actually wanted to use colored lights at first, but they didn't quite cover the entire tree, so we went with the white lights. We have a lot more of those. I'm all done with the tree now... it's all decked out with the lights, ornaments, and train! My train is all set and ready to chug along. I placed the railroad tracks around the tree and installed the batteries, and it's working great. There's still other decorations that gotta be put up though. Best of luck on finishing up your tree.
Nice, you've seen quite a bit more than I have. That Viva cup you have looks cool. Is that a Trolls bed you have here? That looks cool, I think I've seen that in your other pictures.
Yeah I think Smash's online depends on how far away you are with the other players. I'm the same way, Mario Kart and Splatoon has always been my go-to online games for a good while now. Simply because I've gotten a good grasp on how they play, and it helps that I've played the Mario Kart series since 64. I'm all right at Smash Bros., I just can't play very well competitively. I think Splatoon 3's worth picking up, especially if you liked any of its predecessors. It's also got a very good story mode. The Side Order DLC will be coming out next year as well. I'm holding off on getting Splatoon 3's DLC until Side Order comes out, all it is right now is another hub area in the form of Splatoon 1's Inkopolis Plaza. (Really, Nintendo? The first half of the DLC is just an alternate hub area? Come on, guys...)
Nice, good to hear that Sonic Advance 3's multiplayer is good fun. It's been years since I last played it though... so I may have to relearn its levels. I only played Sonic Adventure 2 Battle on the GameCube. Wouldn't mind seeing it on the Switch, though I'm not sure Sega's too willing to bring it over there right now.
Oh, here's my Cat Mario ornament. I purposely placed him next to a certain other ornament in the background...
That's cool, that little tree you mentioned sounds nice. That's cool you got the movie Sonic ornament as well.
Nice, I do have some plain shirts as well, and they're all long sleeved. They're good for wintertime, as well. Most of my shirts have Mario on them, which I'm totally proud of, lol. Yeah, I've seen graphic tees that go for around that price range you've mentioned, good to hear you got a good deal.
@AnVold
Honestly gaming is the least of my worries. I’m perfectly fine with 60 fps and I don’t think I even have any games that can do more. More concerned about watching sports and movies.
