@Moffo Yeah, being out of the loop is like that, no matter if you are 25 or 39. Being remembered is what counts.

@TeaCatherine yeah that's too bad about the roof, but I think nothing ever gets done as much as planned, that's the way universe works.

@MarioLover92 Oh, that's super lovely. Those Mario kits look really nice. I think it's a bit of a shame they didn't go for pretty dioramas as well, but if the current ones sell, Lego company will prolly do more. I had no idea that PIKO of all the manufacturers would have Christmas sets, they specialize in those super realistic models

The speed controller with only 2 speeds sucks, but I have a fluent controller somewhere, that tool is possibly older than me, lol.

I'm a child at heart when Christmas comes around, not ashamed to admit it.

Also, Christmas Tree already? We usually set ours up right before the Eve. They remain fresh until Feb 2nd that way if we water it.

@Definitely-Not-Leon thank you very much, I hope you'll have much fun here too!

@Princess_Lilly Not me, I donโ€™t care if people still remember me or not when I pass on decades from now.

@IceDomino well, the pic was about being remembered during your lifetime.

But that's honestly interesting. I heard once that "your whole life, you are just gathering people to your funeral". I'm not doing a great job with that, but that aside, I don't really believe in it. people have this immanent fear of being forgotten. โ€œThere are three deaths. The first is when the body ceases to function. The second is when the body is consigned to the grave. The third is that moment, sometime in the future, when your name is spoken for the last time.โ€ - David M. Eagleman

There will come a day when the last star goes off and the universe will be just infinite space with big circling rocks in eternal darkness, but the fun and love we had when we were alive will never be erased, even if there was nobody to perceive it.

@Princess_Lilly I am sick of people pressuring me into starting a family for the sole purpose of having someone take care of me or have my (nonexistent) accomplishments remembered for centuries. Whatโ€™s wrong with staying single for life?

@Anti-Matter Haha, thanks! I do like the Toon Link design. It isn't my favorite version, but I have yet to find an official Link design that I dislike. I did like The Wind Waker HD. Tri Force Heroes...I probably would have liked that one better if I'd played it with others. It's very unbalanced in single player.

@Eagly_lmtd_xmasskin I don't think I did see a response. I believe my last response involved me wanting to really condense future replies though; it's nothing personal, I just wish to spend less time posting. The days where I wanna write forum novels are mostly gone.

@MarioLover92 Thanks! Toon Link is a good choice by the original artist since I still consider him to be the most expressive Link. My method of blowing off steam works for about anything including programming lol. Just getting up and walking away for a bit or shifting gears gives the brain a nice break, or at least gives it something else to focus on. Programing mistakes are pretty common, especially when first starting out. That's why practice makes perfect; believe me, there is no perfect programmer (or perfect person in general). Game development - or anything you deem as fun TBH - is a good way to learn programming! Especially if it's something you really want to do. I've actually made an Arkanoid clone before in a now defunct dev environment called DarkBasic Pro. Same with an oil panic clone, the idea of which I borrowed from an old Game & Watch title. Wish I could still run those....

Shovel Knight: Shovel of Hope - played it on the Switch - was hard, but...well, sometimes fair. Unless you happen to die over a pit and lose a ton of loot. I did enjoy the game overall, but I have no desire to try the other games and expansions. I wonder how well I'll receive the liberation missions in MMBN5 now that it's been many years. I just recall not really caring for them much back in the day. There are much better SRPG implementations, though I don't think it was a bad one. Just way different from what I was used to then. I played all FEs up to the Switch. I own Three Houses but haven't gotten to it yet. And Fire Emblem Engage is on my Christmas list. I love the series but am a bit behind on the titles.

Currently playing: Layton's Mystery Journey: Katrielle and the Millionaires' Conspiracy (Switch)

@IceDomino If they pressure you, tell them they can start their own families. Also, nobody will remember their great grandfathers/mothers in like 20 - 50 years after we return to the stars.

Saw Trolls Band Together for a fourth time Monday, and still loved it. This time, I got the Viva cup to have my drink out of. This movie is now my most watched movie in a theater. Also, because everyone went back to work and school, I had the whole theater to myself. Nice, though, it was cool seeing the big turn out for early access and the fan event. Especially early access, I can't remember the last time I've seen a theater applaud a movie.

Also, Christmas avatar is a go!

MarioLover92 wrote:

@Sunsy Good to hear you started decorating your Christmas tree. I haven't got to the ornaments yet, but I did get the lights up. They're white lights. I also got to listen to Mario snow music while putting up the lights, and played some Mario Party 3 afterward. I got to play as Peach, as well.

Great to hear it's one of your favorites. Yeah I remember you told me that, the early access was on the Trolls series' anniversary! Me too, I enjoyed Wish quite a bit. Fun fact, that was the third Disney movie I've seen in theaters. Previously, I've seen Frozen II when that came out in theaters, and the first Disney movie I've seen in theaters was The Lion King. Although that was a long, long time ago... I was a toddler back then. I recall seeing that Wish star popcorn bucket, though I just settled with a regular large-sized one. I had popcorn and a red ICEE drink. That's awesome, the first N64 game I had was Mario Kart 64. I played it a ton back in the day.

I think I did as well, I recall I had a bit of a rough experience with Smash 3DS's online. I remember being matched up with someone who seemed to be from Japan, and the match kept stopping and going. It's partly why I haven't been playing Smash too much these days after getting my fill with Smash Ultimate... that, and I'm not great at it, lol. Actually, I've played the test drive for Mario Strikers: Battle League last year, and its online actually ran pretty good from what I've played. And I played a pretty good amount of matches, too. Plus I recall hearing that a lot of players were having trouble with Splatoon 3's disconnections back when the game first came out, and right now, the disconnections aren't as often as they used to be. So that's good they don't happen as much, at least. Just depends on your internet connection, it seems. Yep, Jon Cartwright is part of Good Vibes Gaming now, yeah I believe he runs the channel.

Thanks, I sure will. Just been busy as a bee with various things lately.

Yeah the co-op and vs. mode would be cool to check out, I've only played Sonic Advance 3 solo. Actually, I just remembered. I played a bit of Sonic Advance 1's multiplayer, but not too much of it. I've played Sonic 2's multiplayer, as well as the multiplayer in Sonic Adventure 2 Battle. Those are the two that I especially remember.

I wanna get a picture of my Cat Mario ornament once I get it on my tree. Gotcha, I still haven't got the batteries in my train yet, as I said earlier, I just have the lights up on my tree right now. Thanks! I'm excited to have my train under my tree in due time. Trains add a lot to the holiday atmosphere, honestly... to me, anyway. They make Christmastime quite a bit more heartwarming.

Ah gotcha... we have a Halloween decoration that could be inflated, and we've had it for a long time. Not all of it can be inflated, unfortunately... only most of it. I guess time wasn't too kind to it. That's awesome, I'd like to have more Disney-themed clothing in general. Most of my clothes are Nintendo-themed.

MarioLover92 wrote:

@Sunsy Whoops, I forgot to write up a reply to the one you've made for my other post. My mistake. Yeah, the past few days have been busy with me as well, cooking Thanksgiving dinner and doing other stuff. That's cool you got that Trolls shirt on that Black Friday sale.

Sounds nice, that's the kind of lights I tend to use, it just makes everything look brighter. I still need to decorate the tree a bit more and set up the train, otherwise, I'm pretty much done. There's still some more ornaments to add to the tree.

Nice. My first Disney movie in theaters was Dinosaur, saw it with a class trip. Then the second was Ratatouille, which was my first Pixar movie in theater too. Other Disney movies I've seen in theaters include Toy Story 3, Cars 2 and 3, Finding Dory, Zootopia, Inside Out, and Frozen II. Yeah, it's a cool bucket. Sounds like a nice theater snack. I ate lunch before the movie on Monday, so I just got a drink in a Viva cup this time (pictured above, I got Poppy along with the popcorn bucket on day of release). I like these cups, they make going to see this movie feel more special. Plus, they can be washed out and saved. AMC even had a light up projector cup for Wish.

It was like a slide show. I don't play Smash much either, as fun of a game it is, I enjoy playing other games, and the only time I play Smash online is with my IRL friend, since I know the connection won't have too much issue. It has to do with distance I believe. It's weird too since Mario Kart and Splatoon have some decent net code that rarely lags. That's good Mario Strikers has good online. It's so weird how some games have good online performance, and others don't. Not like the games are bad games, just poor performing online. That's good news on Splatoon 3, I was waiting for them to fix the disconnection issues before buying the game. Yeah, I knew it was him on the channel.

Sonic Advance 3 is so much fun in two player mode. Nice, I think I played Sonic Adventure 2 Battle with my friend a few years back, he has the Xbox port.

That will be nice, I only have two new ornaments so I'll get a picture of them. Technically three, I forgot I got the movie Sonic when Hallmark had clearance on ornaments last year. Indeed. My room is a lot nicer at night since I have my small tree up. At night, my room has a nice calming glow.

Yeah, inflatables don't really lasts. Not sure about decorations, but toys usually don't last hence why I have the microphone put away in it's packaging after inflating it for the picture. I pretty much wear only my favorite characters, so most of my clothes save for a few plain shirts, are that. Trolls, various Disney, some gaming ones with Peach and Sonic.

The holidays kept us busy. Yeah, usually I pay $20-$25 per shirt since I can only get adult sized character shirts online (try finding a shirt with Poppy on it in adult sized at a department store, it's impossible), so it was a really good deal. Plus I didn't need to leave home... even though I did to get some cold cuts from the local deli.

@Sunsy I experimented with different occupations in the Oregon Trail games. Namely to mess around with difficulty lol.

That completely makes sense; that's why I try to be "picky" when it comes to sugary things since I'd rather it be something I truly like and/or don't get often. I like many forms of cookies, though I dislike sugar cookies; they're either too sweet or too plain and taste like cardboard. It's hard to complain about brownies at all. XD Some of it is I do like trying new things too.

I don't think I experimented with occupations, for some reason, I always chose the default from what I remember, it's been so long since I've played the game, lol.

Indeed, this is why I rather just save the one sweet thing for something I really like. I sometimes do eat sugar cookies, but it has to be something I need to be in the mood for. I'm just happy with either a brownie, cupcake, muffin, or a cookie.

@Sunsy
How was the schedule of Trolls Band Together at your local cinema?
Because here in my hometown Surabaya (East Java, Indonesia), the movie only got very few airing schedule.
It just only two malls in my hometown that still airing Trolls movie after 2 weeks later as it looks like Trolls is not a famous franchise for Surabaya peoples. Even WISH by Disney suddenly only four malls that want to continue airing WISH at cinema XXI after 1 week before it was on almost every malls in Surabaya.
Blame the taste of Surabaya peoples in my hometown that only want something too mainstream and famous, really don't have that much appreciation for underrated stuffs and because of that, the other movies have more priority than Trolls and WISH.

@Anti-Matter AFAIK, it usually comes down to how popular a movie is. Trolls Band Together at my local theater nearly sold out seats over the holiday weekend (I didn't go, but I checked seats on Fandango, the movie ticketing app), as a result, my local theater added another week for the movie. They added the week of December 1st-7th.

Though, going in the middle of a work or school week, the theater is quiet. Monday I had the whole theater to myself, lol.

I guess it might be different in other countries, also some countries did get Trolls Band Together early. Wish practically just came out, I hear it isn't doing well at box office. Though I have a friend who saw Wish and he liked it, so between here and my friend, I'm glad to hear the movie is at least good. I'm glad you got to see both before they disappeared from your local theater.

The one thing Iโ€™m surprised at is the fact that the new Trolls movie got away with mentioning a certain creature with not-so-kid-friendly origins.

@IceDomino I just saw the movie a fourth time on Monday, and I'm having a hard time remembering. The only other creatures I could think of are the puppet-like creatures of Vacay Island, the Mount Rageous characters who resemble Betty Spaghetty dolls, and whatever Crimp was.

Then again, they did put some jokes and mentions that adults would catch in this one more than the last two movies.

@NeonPizza if it helps you get extra enjoyment out of them, all modern Resident Evil games are built for speed-running and repeated playthroughs.

Not only can you learn better routes and get better at the game, but by replaying them to beat the in-game challenges, you can get points to unlock rewards that make future runs even quicker.

RE4 in particular added many little bits and secrets that can be used to totally skip certain areas or sequences, and RE3 can be blitzed through in less than an hour.

@NeonPizza I feel you. I feel like very few people are trying to make anything worthwhile on PS or Xbox. Almost every notable game of 2023 was a remake or remaster. Every truly new game is a high graphic interactive movie with script written by ChatGPT. I won't drop video games entirely, but I feel that I won't be interested in anything new for a while. It's like the industry has collapsed long ago, but I only realized just now that it won't ever stand back up.
