Well, it's been a long long long time since I dropped anything in here. So much went down and so little time.

Got a forklift license yesterday, so that's dope, and terrifying. Still undergoing physiotherapy for knackered spine muscles, but walking is a lot easier now, as is lifting, granted bending is still a no go, but it's far less pain than back in the summer when I could barely move.

Honestly, don't work in retail, it'll age you like milk. Most people think I look to be in my mid 30s but I'm only just turning 28. And don't be management in retail either. I reckon within 6 to 12 months I'll either transfer out to another store (Current one is huge and the job has become rather easy after doing it in that environment for so long) or move to another business all together. I need a challenge and short of promotion or a new environment, it's not happening where I am. Sad really, but that's also what growing does to you.

Now I need to try and not flatten anyone with this several tonne death machine. We had to watch videos of that....and it really does drive it home how dangerous it can be, but it also could never overstate it either. It's terrifying.

@Haruki_NLI damn, I'm really sorry to hear all of that, best of luck with everything, and make sure to always stay strong!

@Haruki_NLI Hello! Congratulations on your Forklift License! You are now extremely powerful. Don't worry about flattening anyone, that's what forklifts are for.

Also, word up about retail work. I never did and no amount of money will convince me to get a job at retail. Dealing with people in normal work is stressful enough, but dealing with customers is a horrible fate.

@Princess_Lilly Yeah, I'm very cautious on the forklift at the minute. Still getting the hang of where the forks are relative to a pallet because YOU CANT SEE THEM. But apart from that its fine.

And yeah, retail sucks. There are some genuinely lovely people you meet and work with, as well as some great customers, but this past christmas was just full of jerks. Proper aggressive ones too. It was disheartening.

Thankfully, my current position nets me a lot of warehouse time now so I can dodge customers, plus I open the store 5 days a week, so that also gives me some time away from them. So I don't mind that much. I'm a very stock focused person overall, less so customer service, more getting it in, worked, and looking hot.

@Haruki_NLI avoiding the customers is the ony way to survive, I believe. Don't worry, if someone didn't escape the forklift in time, it's on them.

@Eel yeah, at the end of the 4th book I knew something was wrong, the 5th one was a train wreck, I didn't touch the 6th one.

Coming from someone who really liked the series. Whenever a new one came out, I'd just read it and everything from the beginning, like:
1, 2 and 1 2, 3 and 1 2 3, and 4, 1 2 3 and I think I stopped there.

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Rick and Morty. The humour is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head.

@Sunsy I know what you meant, anyway I also did like Sonic Boom The rise of lyric but I liked it because the glitches were funny and It was a fun time with a friend.

Space and Games are similar. Space is endless and new stuff is out there waiting to be discovered. Games are always being made but the creativity is different from one game to another and so many more ideas still haven't been imagined or created yet. (That came out better than expected lol)

@Sunsy Seems like you've been having a lot of fun with your choice games as of late - and a couple of good store runs too! I didn't know Polly Pockets were still a thing; I used to own a few and would make a town of sorts out of my selection.

I'd love a chill Christmas where I just sit around and relax for the most part. At least for half the day. It's telling that I didn't get home until 10:15 Christmas night and still had to unload my car.

@Eagly_lmtd_xmasskin I didn't really have constant access to any sort of gaming device until I was ten, which is when I received a GBC for my birthday. Before that, I got my limited gaming fix at babysitters and relatives. Mostly SNES with a bit of NES and the Sega Genesis thrown in. I was fairly "casual" until that point and didn't become more ingrained into the hobby until probably middle school. I think I played maybe two games that released in 2023; the rest were from previous years, though several of them were BOUGHT last year lol.

I think that at least some of those demolition videos, the items and funds were gifted to them. I was taught to always treat one's property well, especially if it was a unique gift created out of love and/or expensive. Doubly so when borrowing something from someone. I had some less than stellar experiences loaning things out (mostly books) as a kid, so it's something I'm only willing to do if it's someone I really trust nowadays. With any type of smoking, my thought is despite all the warnings, if people want to subject themselves to it, then fine. But do it somewhere where you aren't taking away others' choice about whether or not they want to inhale the stuff secondhand. Especially when it comes to kids. The only reason tobacco/nicotine smoking is legal (only speaking for the US here) is how much the government makes off of it. And it was culturally ingrained decades ago. A lot of old movies and TV shows feature it openly.

Reddit link appreciated. I did browse that initial post and a few of the comment. They were spot on when it came to FE: Engage, so I could see that giving some credibility towards a FE4 remake. That said, I'm still taking it all with a pile of salt lol. I do like speculating/discussions yet don't put much store into leaks - I am likewise a skeptic - but time will tell. As for Shadows of Valentia, some of the differences I liked were how dungeon exploration worked and how casting worked this time around. We're very spoiled with tactics games. I have three backlogged already (both Switch FEs and Triangle Strategy), and I'd also eventually like to get the Advance Wars 1 + 2 remake and am eying Unicorn Overlord as well.

Currently playing: Pokemon Scarlet DLC, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury (Switch)

@GalaxicGlobe Sounds nice. Still amuses me I didn't run into many glitches outside the 2D section in Lyric's Weapons Facility. When the game is suppose to be 2D controls, but still had 3D controls.

@Tyranexx I have been. Me neither, I never had a Polly Pocket (to be fair, I'm a guy) but I did spot a Trolls edition one while I was out shopping. It's really cute, opening it up reveals the Trolls world, and it comes with a miniature Poppy and Branch figures. It looks just like Poppy's face when closed. I also saw others there. I'm surprised they still make them.

Wow, that sounded like a busy Christmas.

BTW, @Teksetter, let me just mention that you don't need to apologize for replying late/not at all. I can well imagine you've got a lot going on. Just, please, don't hit the Ignore button if one of my long-winded posts lands on a bad day. It's going to be a long winter, and your patience with a chatty furball is appreciated.
