@Eagly_lmtd_xmasskin Ehh, the wii is older than me, though I did still play on it a lot as a little girl cause my aunt owned one (she still does she just doesn't use it much anymore) but I feel it ain't retro quite yet. Like, Seef was born the same year the Wii came out, so it feels wrong

@EllaTheQueen6@CaleBoi25@Eel I remember PS2 launch, I was this tiny but I recall being so amazed. Nothing was as glorious as that happening. When we finally got a PS2, the demo CD was the busiest piece of plastic in the observable universe. ThenHalf Life 2 came out, and that was the second time the world's heart started beating as one, but after that, everything fell apart. PS3 and X360 were good, but it wasn't that magnitude. And after 2010 nothing felt exciting anymore.
@Princess_Lilly@Princess_Lilly Yeah, you 80's/90's kids had a lot of great games come out as kids, my generation has a lot of shovelware and we have to dig through it to find good stuff, which, funnily enough, is usually sequels or ports from old games! My brother was born in 2002, so he's in the middle of great stuff and shovelware. And then Seef was born in 2006, when the Wii came out, so he wound up being raised on that, which was a great console. But I was born in 2009, when it all started falling apart. I, thank god, was raised on an xbox 360 and ps2 as that's all we had so I still got good games.

@EllaTheQueen6 I really feel like I lucked out big time. The 90's I don't remember well for obvious reasons, but the 00s had the best music, culture, movies, gaming, on top of which everything was peaceful, even the politcs was not nearly as heated as nowadays, there was no racism, no violence and no worries.
Nowadays everything feels better, but it's somehow not.
@Moffo I'm too lazy for a 3rd playthrough, I'm gonna Deltarune before chapter 3, since I need a save from the 1st one, which I played just as "Survey_Program.exe" (literally that's how the game was called on PC)

@Princess_Lilly I don't remember the 00's because not even 2 months after I was born it was 2010, but I always listened to 00's music and played 00's games. PS2, Wii, and more dirt old consoles. The 00's were the best, even if I barely make the cut for a 00's kid
Eagly_lmtd_xmasskin Yeah, the Wii could be considered retro now, but it really doesn't feel rero. I don't know if it's cause Seef was born in 2006, or cause I played on it as a little girl, but it really doesn't belong with SNES and arcade cabnits.

@EllaTheQueen6 If you like 00s, you are 00s kid. As a fan of that decade, I shall allow it.
@TeaCatherine well I kinda remembered it like that. As if everything after 2010 just shattered like a porcelain figure, as if everything wrong with the world escalated rapidly. Do you feel it differently?
Gonna bake 5 cakes for Christmas so I need to regenerate stamina by lying unconsciously on a bed for 8 hours, wish me luck

I watched The Boy and the Heron this evening. Bit of a slow start, but overall a pretty good watch.
@Eagly_lmtd_xmasskin I've been vaguely aware of a couple site departures recently, but not in detail. I've been pretty busy and usually stick with notifications in General.
Yeah I like waiting a bit for newer consoles; I didn't pick up a Switch until late 2019 for example. Backlog figured in a bit too there. I do agree that some people shouldn't have access to certain things...which is why some products and appliances have asinine warnings; I roll my eyes until I remember someone, somewhere probably did it. I knew about the Steam Deck...steam, but not about the Xbox vaping. That stuff REALLY isn't good for human lungs; vapors like that in any sort of electronic device isn't good for it. Reminds me of an old Alienware PC tower we had in at my last job for maintenance. You could smell the tobacco smoke on it halfway across the (rather large) room.
The Sopranos are involved?! Now I'm curious. XD
Interesting hypothesis involving the FE franchise...Is this a rumor or theory doing the rounds I've not heard of? I'd jump on a modern remake of an older title if it's even near the quality of Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia. I own but haven't played Three Houses yet... hopefully sometime in 2024. Engage is on my Christmas list. I've heard gameplay-wise it's a fun time, but the plot definitely takes a backseat. Some people either love or hate that it seems.
Currently playing: Pokemon Scarlet DLC, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury (Switch)
Busy couple of days, and did some gaming. A friend and I exchanged gifts, and he got me the new Trolls game, Trolls Remix Rescue, which I'm loving a lot. Reminds me of an early 2000's cartoon tie-in game, but with Trolls, and love the attention to detail to the series with references to the movies and the Netflix and Hulu series.
The other game I've been playing is Jagged Alliance, a strategy game I bought during GOG's winter sale. A classic from 1995, with turn based tatics gameplay, and quests similar to RPGs. It's like a mix of both. Day 2 took a few days to do, but I think I got this game down.
@MarioLover92 I can't find your post. I click on the response in my notifications and it's taking me to the last page of the Chit-Chat thread. (Tagging @antdickens in event this is a bug)
@Sunsy Yep. Start too early or too late, and you'll likely catch some end or beginning of winter blizzards in the mountains, and even out on the Great Plains depending. Colder/more adverse weather in general. Kind of like the real thing in that regard.
Indeed, it was one of those games that made you really think.
@Sunsy Huh... that's weird. That sometimes happens to me, where it wouldn't take me to the post that mentioned me. Here's my post that you were trying to find. Or you can go on my Nintendo Life profile, click on the "Posts" tab, then you can try searching for your username over there. (I use Ctrl + F to find certain words and it works great.)
"Give yourself the gift of being joyfully you."
Favorite game: Super Mario 3D World
AKA MarioVillager92. Ask if you want to be Switch friends with me, but I want to get to know you first. Thanks! ❤️

@Sunsy thanks for the tag, I can kind of see the issue... basically when the notifications are created, it saves/stores the URL of the post. However, if posts get deleted between that time, and when someone clicks it, it might get out of sync (especially if someone deletes their account and therefore a lot of posts are removed from this thread). There is a way to fix that (by not saving the URL) but that would require a reasonable size change in the notification system... one for the todo list!
@antdickens perhaps the site could also “save the spot” on deleted messages with either a default “this post was removed by the user”message or something less visible. So the post count doesn’t go back.
