What a weekend. Went to the early access showing of Trolls Band Together and I loved it. Honestly, the movie exceeded my expectations. I smiled, I laughed, I cried, and loved it all! Even everyone in the theater even applauded the movie. I can't remember the last time I heard people clap for a movie. Even wore one of my favorite Poppy shirts. Being on November 4th, the anniversary of the Trolls series, I can't think of a better way of celebrating. One of the most unforgettable movie trips ever.
Well whatever you call it enjoy it. And yeah I’ve been reading them and thier deightful. It’s enjoyable seeing you get so excited about trolls 3 it’s infectious even
Well I’ve never touched either but I’ve heard mixed things about the reboot. I’d wait until watching it to judge. My only true exposure to the franchise is reading the leaked CW script and I can say DONT DO THAT. And probably next year I’ll watch the first 10 ish episodes of the simpsons. However and again I haven’t seen them but apparently due to covid the writers changed up how a simpsons episode is written and the last 2 seasons have been called a bit of a renaissance specifically lisa the boyscout or the flanders duology. And yeah I didn’t expect it to connect with her but I aint looking a gift horse in the mouth. And so do I because I know they’d like the shows if they were live action
WATCH AMPIBIA FOR MARCY AND ALSO BECAUSE ITS AN AMAZING SHOW. Sorry had to get that out of my system but let’s put it this way if young me had an autistic role model I’d have probably been happier as an autistic kid and I’m glad a lot of younger kids get her as one. But even without marcy ampibia is a really solid show and I couldn’t recommend it enough. I’ve always preferred characters with a more complex array of traits who mostly try to do good. That’s where the drama comes from. They aren’t mean they just unintentionally hurt the people around them occasionally even if they mean well and mostly help each other, it’s a lot more interesting in my opinion to characters just being jerks to one another which can be funny for a while but isn’t sustainable. And I’m glad World tour helped during the pandemic it was a really rough time period and we all needed mental help then. One of the big things was escapist media. For me it was probably modok because it might not be the traditionally best series of all time but it launched right when oppressive online school let out and I felt free for the first time in ages just watching it and staying up a little too late. And not to go on too long a rant but my school’s online learning was terrible and messed with out mental health. Me and the other “teachers pets” even started rebelling after a while. With the future valedictorian just straight up blowing up and leaving a particularly nasty teachers zoom call. And I am truly happy you got to see world tour in theaters and you’ll see the new one in a couple days
Noooo, I can be long winded at times.
I loved it and posted full thoughts in the movie thread. I'm looking forward to watching it again, this is gonna be one going back to the theater multiple times.
Alrighty, enjoy them when you do. Yikes, yeah, that pilot is probably not the best way to get exposed to the series. I haven't read about it, but heard about it from a friend. That's the first I'm hearing about this, last time I watched Simpsons was last year and it was older Halloween episodes. Before that was 2009, when I fiddled with the antenna and DTV converter box. With that said, I haven't sat down to watch the series, despite having Disney+.
Wow, I'll keep that in mind if I ever get around to it. I've heard nothing but good things about the show. Yeah, though I did see Trolls World Tour at home first like many did, the special showing I found was like two years after release, after the pandemic restrictions were lifted (coincidentally enough, on the anniversary of the movie's Blu-Ray/DVD release).
Thank you, I've recently finished Mario Wonder, and I did have a great time with it. I went ahead and got 100% completion as well! That sounds like a fun way to prep for the Trolls Band Together showing.
Ah OK, gotcha. It seems like you don't have to wait too long though, just a couple weeks at most. Huh, that's weird... do they generally have peppermint available regardless of what the app says? It seems like a glitch, wouldn't be surprised since I've seen similar instances in the past.
Wow that's cool, I remember seeing another video showing the Game Boy version of Space Invaders being played on a Super Game Boy. It's crazy impressive how they managed to pull this off. Turning the Game Boy version into a full-blown SNES remake. Even the sound effects seem to be spot-on to the arcade original.
Yeah for sure, I've actually played it online with another friend. We also finished Donkey Kong Country 2 and 3 together, and that was my first time finishing them actually! Even though I played a ton of DKC2 as a kid.
Nice, that sounded like a good time. Yeah... I can't believe Frozen's been around for a decade. Gosh I feel old, lol. Ah yeah, Wish is the next Disney animated movie, right? I did see a movie poster and a few trailers of that online recently. I should give that a watch.
Oh that's cool you can give that a rewatch. Just curious, have you ever been to the Nintendo store in NYC? I've actually been there two times in the past and it's a really cool store. I still have my big Mario figure from there, too. Gotcha, so most of your past train rides were in subways. They can be good for getting around the city at least, assuming you're familiar with its layout of course. NYC is pretty massive though, lol. I'd love to take more train rides in general... they're fun, classy, and relaxing. Too bad there's no train station in my area though. At least, not for passengers. I'd prefer taking a train over an airplane personally... and in the case of amusement parks, definitely a train over a roller coaster for me. Still not a fan of anything too fast and crazy.
Congrats on 100% Mario Wonder. It was, the two movies and the holiday specials are canon to each other too.
That's the thing, I have no idea. Peppermint is reported out of season on the app, when it goes back in season, the message disappears. It's pretty weird since their social media said it's available year round. I should try getting one in January, just to see. If not, I'm happy with a regular white hot chocolate.
Indeed, I discovered it when I popped the game into the Super Game Boy since my dad played it on his Game Boy, and I was surprised that it did that. It was one of the coolest things I ever discovered on the Super Game Boy.
Nice. I think I only rented the DKC games as a kid, never owned any of them. Though I did have Donkey Kong Land on Game Boy.
Yeah, looks like after I see Trolls Band Together again, I think I may watch Frozen again to celebrate its anniversary. Surprisingly for Disney 100, they did re-release it to theaters for two weeks this past summer, so there is that. I did see Frozen II in theaters. Yup, I even saw a Wish trailer play before Trolls Band Together the other day. I might wait for it on Disney+, I want to see Trolls Band Together a couple more times. I loved that movie so much.
I wish I could go to Nintendo NYC. It kinda sucks because realistically I could reach it too. That figure sounds so cool. Yup, subways. I remember as a kid riding them when my dad had to go into the city a few times. Agreed, that one I went on to go to MSG was nice.
@Sunsy Don't worry, I definitely got your meaning. I used handheld gaming units on the bus too when I didn't want to (or couldn't concentrate on) reading, listen to music, or couldn't focus on studying. I've played the regular and Deluxe versions of the first Oregon Trail and much prefer the latter. Not sure if I ever beat Oregon Trail II, but I do recall it being hard. Oregon Trail III ironically took three discs to play in total; I knew that game like the back of my hand. It was really cool to watch someone beat a game!
I'd like to give Sim City 2000 a try at some point, if only because I do like simulation types of games...though I do try to stay away from them some of the time now since they can be really addicting. Not sure how many hours I sank into some of the older Rollercoaster Tycoon and Zoo Tycoon titles back in the day. XD As for Chex Quest, I've heard of it but not played it. It does seem highly regarded! If you're interested, there's still plenty of footage out there of that old PC Clue game my school had.
(Gotta admit that I don't recall it being as glitchy as in the video....)
Cool, I always "beat" Oregon Trail II by settling in Salt Lake City. Reaching Oregon was soooo hard in that edition of the game. Three discs, I'm guessing there was a lot more FMVs than Oregon Trail II. I remember the second game had realistic looking people who would talk to you. They looked like photographs that talked. XD
Oh dear, Rollercoaster Tycoon and Theme Park, I sunk so many hours into. I also enjoyed a more recent one, Cities Skylines. I have it on PC. Pretty good city simulation game. Yeah, Chex Quest was just DOOM, but kid friendly. It was genuinely fun too. Cool, yeah, the glitchiness makes it hard to watch. I'm guessing the person playing was using a virtual machine or a way to emulate old Windows. I have discs of games that probably won't work on my current PC.
@EllaTheQueen6 Trust me when I say this, it's totally worth seeing while it's in theaters. The movie was fantastic on the big screen. It's really a special experience. If you want to wait for digital/home release, that's fine too. It is worth the trip.
It's just so cool I got to see it early thanks to DreamWorks doing an early showing on the series anniversary, it comes out on November 17th.
The resident Trolls superfan! Saw Trolls Band Together via early access and absolutely loved it!
well what do ya think? personally I think it has a lot of potential that is so far unmet
Oh you’ve seen it too? It’s amazing! I hope they get enough funding for a full show! I always loved her gooses stuff so seeing her get her one show was just amazing!
So many good shows! So little time! And indie animation is really starting to build up! With everyone showing their amazing ideas and some making full fledged shows on YouTube!
@Kermit1 tick tock ruined that thing, it was just a funny video a guy made lol. And apparently he made a whole series? Sounds like you’ve seen it….tell me would you recommend I watch it? Depending on that…it could be..maybe.
@Snatcher I haven't seen it, all I know is that it keeps getting 20mil+ views in 8 hours each new video and the views are only going up.
that Digital Circus show is good, as we speak Plumber is watching it, I totally did not yell at Plumber to watch it, I did not use force, I did not throw em' off a bouncy castle, I did not, hi Mark.
