I've looked into this. The VFX artists we're talking about here is a very small group of about 50 people who're working at Marvel Studios itself. These VFX artists are on set like other technical personnel, placing green screens, making sure lightning wouldn't interfere with CGI, working on motion capture,... stuff like that.

The thousands of people working behind the screens on all the CGI shots aren't part of this. These artists aren't under the Marvel Studios banner themselves but work for VFX companies. Disney outsources almost every CGI shot to other studios because that's the cheapest way of doing things. These companies compete with each other to get these jobs from the big studios, and that's the major cause for underpayment and overworking of all these artists.

So while the unionization of the Marvel Studios VFX artists is a start, the industry has a long way to go yet.

I generally only use the abbreviation when I'm joking, so I said smh after Seef wouldn't approve because he's a Muslim, and the meat I used was haram. It was used as a joke, and wasn't meant to actually be serious, as he would approve because he doesn't really care what I eat cause it ain't like I'm a Muslim
