@Princess_Lilly with watercolor, there’s honestly some very cheap options to start with. There’s a reason it’s the classic default medium for children: they're not super complicated.

If you’re interested, all you need to do is try. No need to have a plan, even making swatches and blobs is a start.

However I’d recommend getting paper made for watercolor, and some washi tape to stick in place (to avoid warping), since normal paper will get chewed out by the water.
