Boy this thread really flies. To anyone picking it up, have fun with Tears of the Kingdom.

@Sunsy Jedi Knight is a gem, the first and only game in the series I played. I somehow didn't want to see anything less than JA, so i never started Jedi outcast. I was a fooooool!

Alrighty. Jedi Outcast is the next one in the series. I already added the last two games to my GOG wishlist so going to keep an eye out for a sale or something.

@Sunsy Ah gotcha, at least that worked. It does ruin the surprise element, lol. I think Steam has that feature where you'd gift games to those on your friend list, I gifted a game to my brother that way.

I remember Quackshot! That was one of the games I had when I had my Genesis, I'd like to revisit it sometime. It was a Genesis exclusive, that was one of the Disney games developed by Sega themselves. Wouldn't mind seeing that game get ported to the Switch somehow.

Ah I don't remember they had a replacement plan. My DS Lite worked just fine even with the dead pixel, thankfully. I did have another one that was red and black, I wanted it because red is my favorite color. lol

Yup, so does GOG. I used the gift feature plenty of times with my IRL friends and GOG. Actually, the gift feature helped get my friend into using GOG as he wasn't aware of it at the time.

Yup, I remember playing it one Sunday morning on Sega Channel as a kid. It was a good game too. Disney should really re-release more of their classics, they did with Lion King and Aladdin in one bundle, and they use to have the DOS version of Lion King on GOG before they took it down in favor of the updated version. I'd like to play Pinocchio again, I played that game once on Sega Channel.

Yeah, but my dead pixel was right in the middle of the screen, very very noticeable. They let me replace it for free, just sent back the old system when the replacement arrived.

@Sunsy The storybook chapters don't start unlocking until a certain point in the game, then they unlock every so often as you progress closer to fighting Bowser for the final time. Super Mario Galaxy is still my favorite of the bunch. I was hyped for Sunshine since I never had access to it back in the day, but...While it did a lot of things right, I fully understand many of the complaints about it too.

It is sad that many abandoned properties are left to rot. So full of history and interesting nooks...if exploring the area is legal/safe that is. I followed a guy who photographed random abandoned properties across America at one point. Many of those photos were pretty intriguing to say the least

Cool. I think the complaints with Sunshine may have been that it played differently because of FLUDD if I remember correctly. I don't recall having complaints myself about it. Though Smurfs Mission Vileaf did use similar ideas from Sunshine like FLUDD's gameplay, and was reminded of it playing the game.

I see videos like that get recommended all the time on YouTube. It is sad since that particular theater has been sitting there 15+ years. It's bizzare since I remember seeing one movie there, and I can't remember how we even got into the theater parking lot because it's right near a busy highway.

I see your post @Eagly, it's a lot so hoping to respond to it when I have a bit more time. I'll still keep the notification unread so I'm reminded of it (I find mouse wheel clicking let's me keep the post unread and still see it for later).

@Sunsy I'm gonna be real with you, I just replayed like 2/3 of Jedi Academy and the game itself would have been as splendid as I have remembered it, but the maps are horrible. They certainly didn't map them with open eyes.

@Eagly We can hope. So you're not a fan of Dirkposting, then?

@Eagly Personally, I'm of the opinion that they just haven't been shown, y'know? That said, could be Dirk.

That opening is one of the best I’ve seen in a video game. And the underground is way better ( and harder) than I thought it would be.

Short or tall, be granted with your height.
If you are still around 13 - 15 years old, you still have a chance to grow taller despite boys grew taller than girls by generally.
I have graduated boy students from my school and they were very tall like adult people after grade 10 or 11, even taller than me with height 180 cm. They were not really tall during grade 6.

@Eagly Ah, yeah. I do believe those tend to be popular headcanon names. (Apart from Vandham, we have enough of those.) G'night.

That was a great moment, and honestly better than the cliff in BOTW. ( to be fair I didn’t play BOTW at release and wasn’t a big Zelda fan when I did play it the first time.)

It's ok, earlier I had to wait in between doing something, so I just had time to visit and play a quick game of Strike Commander. Now I'm going to try and respond.

Yeah that definitely sums the thought process up. It’s a fandom for a reason you can’t spend time arguing with people who like something like trolls and then complain that no one likes trolls or you wouldn’t have gotten into an argument about it. And the best advice I can give is remember who the company is listening to there was a trolls 2 now a trolls 3 and proving the writers don’t have a planned end in place there will certainly be a trolls 4 granted it’s never bad to end a franchise on a high note so maybe trolls 3 is the last. Dreamworks is listing to the trolls fans not the trolls trolls who troll the trolls fans (I could not help it)

Indeed. It's nice that DreamWorks does listen, honestly, Trolls: Holiday In Harmony is the best fan service thing I've seen. Any little thing a fan would pick up on was in it. Also, they do engage a lot with Trolls fans on social media. Just look at their "#TrollsArtTuesday" posts, they actually showcase fan art, and more recently, comment on them. The Trolls fandom is pretty dedicated. That's also another reason why I'm looking forward to this movie, what if Trolls Band Together is the final movie? I wouldn't want to miss out on seeing it in theaters. I did luck out with seeing Trolls World Tour last summer at a local theater, but the lockdown and having the same at home experience I had with Trolls 1 (first saw it on DVD), made me watch Trolls Band Together in theaters even more. I feel really glad I got lucky with that special summer showing of Trolls World Tour. Honestly, it brought closure from the past few years for me, really I actually cried when Poppy sang "Trolls Just Wanna Have Fun". It's not a tear-jerking moment, but still was really special finally seeing it on the big screen. Actually wore my favorite Poppy shirt and had my favorite Poppy plushie with me for that movie trip.

I haven’t seen the movie but I did watch some episodes of the show with my my sister and we enjoyed it. The stylization of animation is getting better and we have spider verse to thank for pushing the boundaries of how visuals in animation work. Puss 2 is equally important because it showed other studios have to now live up to spider verses standards and the precedent seems to be continuing with the new TMNT movie. I am happy that CGI animation is evolving into something new and more beautiful

Indeed, the other day had me thinking. Even though you don't like Boss Baby, DreamWorks made me remember, Tim's imagination sequence was also stylized. It's just cool DreamWorks always experimented with animation styles. I agree, Puss In Boots was amazing with its stylized scenes, but still had the beautiful CGI that DW movies are known for.

Eagly wrote:

I just saw GOTG 3 yesterday and to not give any spoilers it was indeed epic and go see it however the movie has incredibly dark undertones so be warned however the movie is definitely worth a watch or 3

Cool, I still need to see it. Once I know which day I'm going, I'm going to be watching the first two movies and the holiday special.

Eagly wrote:

Yeah I get it. It was for the audience the creators knew what they were doing. I have found that at the end of the day the writing dosen’t have to be perfect, the visual effects don’t have to be amazing and the acting can be mediocre but if the project has heart the problems feel like nothing. In fact most of my favorite tv shows, movies and games have some flaws that are just overlooked able for instance my one of my favorite games to say nice things about nier has the worst combat in any CRPG I have ever played but the story is so beautiful I can complete ignore the garbage combat and still count nier as one of my favorite video games of all times a flawed masterpiece if you will

Indeed, that's one of my favorite things about Trolls. In addition to the cute characters, music, and the arts and crafts inspired world, the series has its heart and there's heart put into it. I don't think any show or movie will ever be perfect, but there will always be something someone likes about it.

I cant stand people who act like animation is only for kids and look down on you for enjoying it. Bonus points if they are fans of stuff like reality tv. While I could go on a deep dive about how adult animation works there is a belief mostly by the mediocre adult animated cartoons that audiences find poop and swears funny so they jam their mediocre shows full of poop jokes. While the occasional bathroom joke can be funny they go way too overboard. By contrast kids shows obviously cant get away with characters pooping on the floor or swearing at each other. The writers have more constraints meaning they have to get more creative. That is of course not to say that adult animation is bad some of the best animated shows are for adults ones that naturally come to mind are archer, simpsons, South Park, Bojack and Rick & morty. However these shows understand there is more to humor than curse words and pooping. Plus they all have an undercurrent of somewhat emotional stories (yes even south park) so even if the adult humor dosen’t work the shows still manage to entertain with the drama. And the drama is usually heightened and more emotional. They use the adult rating to make something mature rather than a show with immature jokes using mature imagery But to return to kids shows some of my favorite tv shows of all time are kids cartoons other than the aforementioned “gravity falls trilogy” such as clone war, rebels, phineas and ferb, milo murphy, regular show and mystery incorporated. I love the world stories and characters from all the shows and if people refuse to watch them because their animated or for kids it’s Their loss

Also as for owl house finish the masterpiece it’s worth it

Indeed, that's how I feel about adult animation. Some of it just feels like its immature and makes kids shows seem more mature (older Adult Swim cartoons come to mind). It is sad some people do look down on others for liking cartoons and animation because they see it as it being for kids. Cool, now I'm reminded I need to watch Milo Murphy's Law, I only saw the one episode Disney posted to YouTube, but I now have Disney+. Phineas and Ferb was great too. There's a lot of good animation out there. I just wish some animation fans (those on YouTube and Twitter, which I don't use) have a bit of an open mind instead of obsessing over "Velma" for the 100th time. I get it, the show's bad. Why not talk about good cartoons instead? It all feels like it's done for clicks.

Hoping to watch more. I'm also hoping to watch Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts. I want to watch it, my Trolls World Tour DVD always plays the trailer reminding me, Netflix reminds me, and I forget to watch it.

I’ve got the paraglider and 11 shrines. Between the underground, Hyrule, caves, and sky islands it is kinda overwhelming. In a good way that is.

@ComfyAko Alrighty, I think I might have played a demo of Jedi Academy on my brother's Xbox a long time ago. I haven't played any of the games until more recently. I did play a demo of Dark Forces as a kid, came with a Mac copy of Star Wars Rebel Assault 2. I didn't have the game until 2015 during a May The 4th sale GOG had then, I did play it then, but never beat it until a playthrough I started this past February.

I think the old save file might be on an old hard drive I took out of my old laptop when I upgraded it. At least I backed up the save file this time around, especially since I have a completed Dark Forces save now.

Ya, it is very overwhelming, but the traveling is so much fun it rarely becomes a chore (imo).

@Professor_Plumber It took me 7 tries to get to the Fuze shrine, and each time was completely different. It was honestly amazing how fun it was just trying to get from A to B and failing many times.

I'm on my 8th Shrine not counting the tutorial ones, I found Impa, I made a huge mistake, and made a spoon sword.

It is good. If everything keeps going the way it is, TOTK is gonna be near the top of my Zelda games list. Which is essentially my top games of all time list.
