Plot device works as a descriptor of twists. The thing I’ll say about xenoblade is it knows how to crush you. It doesn’t even have to be a plot twist all it has to be is something horrible happening to these characters which is something common in these games. But to refocus on twists xenoblade twists aren’t just twists they are something more. You will have so many things snap into place and if you replay the game you realize every piece of foreshadowing you missed
Individual damage is capped at 999,999. Chain attacks displays cap at 9,999,999 but you can do more damage. However When modded to remove damage caps doing a billion damage is possible
The banter in nier is amazing. NSFW but amazing the amount of times the characters have gotten into the dumbest possible arguments astounds me. For instance I remember one whwre they get into some weird discussion about knives that devolves into a discussion about having a thousand hands so you can use a thousand knives at once and it perfectly captures the energy of dumb discussions you have with friends
It just works that way. Take learning a foreign language.just trying to speak to someone in thier native tongue if you are learning a second language just shows how bad you are at it. To you what you are saying makes perfect sense to them you are a five year old. A sub could have the worst grammar of all time and you would not be any wiser
I like Pokémon conceptually and the 3ds games but the franchise needs revitalization. The games on 3Ds looked phenomenal but the exact same models transferred to the significantly more powerful switch look abysmal. And while graphics are not everything gameplay isn’t much better. Other than legends Arceus it has stayed the same and after so many Pokémon games I find it hard getting invested in the same gameplay loop with the same formula. I know it can’t happen because of the game tournaments but I wish game freak would go back and completely rehaul the battle system it works but it could be better. And then there is just a level of complete incompetence like not being able to put certain pokemon in the poke-bank because the developers programmed them wrong or the arrow in the sword/shield closing cutscene. In addition the whole gamefreak lying about models. I have many reasons not to play Pokémon especially with all the better alternatives on switch The aforementioned xenoblade and Nier then Persona and Monster hunter. Fire emblem and the list goes on. They do the bear minimum attacks being animated unieqly, stable frame rates, side quests, voice acting all things pokemon lacks.

That is just the kind of writing I enjoy, it always astounds me how much they can fit into just tiny bits of dialogue, but it means so many things, so many.
So is it scripted or is it all made up on the spot? Because that sounds like some genuine randomness that only friends would talk about lol.
Honestly the things gamefreak does wouldn’t be acceptable by no other developer, the only thing, the only single thing that has kept them remotely afloat is the design team, not to mention game freak kinda sorta threw that one dev team tasked with remastering pearl, they lied to us as you said about the dex then tried to play it off as if we misunderstood them, like what a #### thing to do, I love Pokémon too, but something has to change.
If Pokémon was like a 40/30$ game then maybe I wouldn’t care, but it’s a 60$ game with what’s probably going to be 20 to 30 dollar dlc, it’s crazy. (Legends being the sorta almost exception to all this for me)
]Omg chapter 6 of xenoblade 2 is insane! Like it’s crazy, the story is really starting to pick up, not saying it hasn’t already, but it’s getting even better than it already was! Now freaking out time [spoiler]Ok I knew Nia was a blade it was hinted at but a flesh eater I think they’re called? Instead! And I get to have her on my team to boot![spoiler]
Omg you really don’t need a healer, because I have Nia! Now I can have zeck on the team wee! That whole area to get to the third blade was pretty tough, I didn’t fight anything tho, don’t think they wanted me too, but this area has my one complaint I think I really have with this game, it’s a small one but, I cannot stand field skill, please tell me they get removed in three, there soo annoying, and the straw that broke the camels back was me needing them to even make it to the blade! Which I think is stupid, I was fine because I did have a level two wisdom and I did have that one blade for morag I forgot to unlock till now, and just unlocked the extra I forgot what it was but it was for brigid.
I know it worked out just fine, but man, it’s story content, I almost feel like it shouldn’t be blocked out by something like that, again not a big complaint at all, and it’s by no means ruining my experience, just found it a little infuriating.
Back to positives I love how chapter 7 so far has been used to grow the characters more! I got to know more about Nia! Zeck and pandoria got something too, and I just loved how her glasses cleared after that, it was so cool!
The story is just so amazing! I’m loving it so much, I’m so overwhelmed! I think I’m gonna do side quest to get my affinity charts for my favorite Nia. (Without mythra I am nothing ):
If you don’t read all this i don’t blame you it’s a lot, so if you did skim to the end her, all you need to know is that I freaking love this game to bits! And I love Nia so much more now, sorry if there is grammar issues I was just typing away like a madman lol.

@Eagly The main problem Pokemon has is there's too many new games in a short space of time. If you look at the vast majority of big franchises nowadays, the gap between 2 consecutive new entries in those franchises is usually around the length of 2 whole Pokemon generations. Like when BotW launched we were 4 months into Gen 7 and when TotK launches we'll be 6 months into Gen 9.
The Zelda cycle of 1 new mainline game every 6 years and filling the gaps with spinoffs and ports/remasters/remakes would likely help Pokemon a lot.
