As for tomorrow's direct: I have a feeling it's gonna be something big. I don't know how, but somehow, it WILL be big.
@Anti-Matter And yet you said "All those leaders from Pokemon Scarlet / Violet have terrible character design (all weirdos)" which perplexes me greatly, as Iono is wonderful, and the normal gym leader is the most normal person in the pokemon multiverse.
Bring me the sesame, miso, citrus and pepper flavored fish cakes
@TeaCatherine So true, I like the evil ones lol. For the direct? I don’t really have any tbh, as it’s the first one of the year, I just don’t have much right now, but I’m sure if I think about it I will.
Like, maybe getting GBA games finally! Or getting a new super mario rpg (I know alpha dreams dead so they would be no point, so ports?) and maybe a rhythm haven game, maybe, please!
@TeaCatherine Are you kidding me, my goodness auto correct messed me over again, I meant super Mario rpg, what the heck Lmao, then again, the K is right next to the M, dang it.
@ComfyAko
If I compared Scarlet / Violet gym leader design with previous gym leader design, all the gym leader character design from Scarlet / Violet look like bunch of weirdos.
Male characters with feminine long hair, female characters with masculine outfits (remind me King from King of Fighters), two tone colored hairs like Cruela De Vil, a lot of characters with weird hair design and terrible make up.
I don't like Iono since from the first time I saw her with annoying high pitched voice from Pokemon trailer, her outfit design also looks terrible, not even cute. The fashion design from 2020's era are really terrible with those weirdo looking in my opinion.
The Normal gym leader in Scarlet / Violet with office worker looking looked boring in my opinion.
Gym leader design from Kanto region (Gen 1) are the best in my opinion as all of them looked great to see with their simple looking.
No overdressed, no weird hair style, no annoying personality.
I personally have crushed feeling with Brock and Lt. Surge from Kanto gym leaders because they looked handsome + have nice body and I like handsome looking dudes.
@TeaCatherine Glad you didn’t think it was a whole different series. But i should write down a list, but a predictions list, oh no,no,no,no, but a wishlist! Just make Mario odyssey 2 Nintendo! Please!
Nintendo are like woman, You love them for whats on the inside, not the outside…you know what I mean! Luzlane best girl!
(My friend code is SW-7322-1645-6323, please ask me before you use it)
@EaglyTheKawaiiShika Yes, you're right.
Anyway, got to sign off for tonight.
Edit: It was intentional, there was another one in the word "sometimes" as well.
Bittersweet day. I learn there's FINALLY a Nintendo Direct tomorrow, all while I'm off work and out of town for a visitation/funeral. Should be back in time to finally watch the new Avatar movie though.
@EaglyTheKawaiiShika Yes, they all play very differently; one is an axe wielder, another is a mage, and the last likes to get up close and personal. Each run also gets faster once you know what to do for each boss.
I've enjoyed the three mainline Dragon Quest games I've played (IV, V, and VIII) and the one spinoff I've gotten to (Rocket Slime). It's a very fun series. It's basically JRPG comfort food. Only problem is later installments are long, so I shove them in when I'm in the mood for a longer JRPG. Which...is often contested. 😅
@SlashFuture That's why I like that many modern games allow the player to adjust the difficulty on the fly if need be. It saves time and sanity.
@MarioLover92 I loved Mole Mania, though I admit I turned to a guide or videos more than once in the later levels. It was surprisingly more difficult than I figured it would be. Congrats on finishing Kirby: Planet Robobot! That's one I hope to get to before very long.
I hope you're enjoying your time with XC3. Amazing game, it was hands down my GotY last year. I love JRPGs, but I've had to become pickier about which ones I grab since they can be long. Still not easy if my three backlogged DQ games are any hint lol. I've found I've had to allot time for some things too, namely movies. I have Tuesday movie night now. Otherwise I'd just keep gaming or reading lol.
I've mostly been pushing Chicory: A Colorful Tale since I want to finish it before this weekend, but I'm fitting in some SM64 on the side too. I do have some favorite worlds, though I agree Tiny-Huge Island isn't very fun. So far I've only bopped around the castle, Bobomb Battlefield, and Thwomp Fortress.
Currently playing: Pokemon Scarlet DLC, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury (Switch)
Busy few days between chores and playing a few PC classics, Medal of Honor Allied Assault, which is still played online thanks to the game's direct IP option. Played this online a lot between 2004-2007. Also, one of my favorites, Magic Carpet. Fun hybrid of a first person shooter with strategy elements.
@Sunsy I've seen memes about Dollar General that basically suggest that it's the new McDonald's or Subway in the retail space; they're just about everywhere lol. I've occasionally found interesting nuggets in them, heck I even bought a replacement "dumb" phone (old Motorola) from them that served me well over two years before I got my first proper job and, eventually, a smart phone in my early 20s.
Wow, I haven't seen any memes on Dollar General. I love it when you find something cool in a budget place. Just made the trip to the store more fun. A replacement phone sounds like a cool find to me, especially since it lasted that long.
FWIW, I actually used a flip phone up until 2020. I was originally going to get a smart phone after moving, but paying rent got more important for mom, so I waited on my smart phone. When mom finally got one, we both went with an iPhone because mom's familiar to her iPad, and me having one I can help her easily.
@Sunsy Thanks for showing me the video. I actually enabled the widescreen mode when playing the game and it looks great, albeit kind of letterboxed. I actually tried out the cinema option for curiosity's sake, and it's even more letterboxed. So I went with the regular widescreen option. It's really cool that it's a thing, I know that a few GameCube games have a widescreen option as well. I might change the controls like that, though I've already adapted to the default controls so I'm in no rush. Thanks again though.
I think I first pulled off the Minus World glitch on the 3DS Virtual Console version, which I got for free as a 3DS ambassador. Before that, I couldn't get the glitch to work, so I just played normally. Which is what I pretty much always do anyway, lol. Shifting gears just a little bit, I like playing games either casually, or trying to go for all the collectables, like getting all the Power Stars/Moons in 3D Mario games. I'm usually confident enough to do so in platformers.
You're welcome, hope it helps with the controls if you want to try them, but sounds like you got the hang of it. I'm guessing cinema is more or less like the wider widescreen that most movies used. Didn't know GoldenEye even had that option. Yeah, I was playing Jimmy Neutron Jet Fusion a few years ago in widescreen thanks to my current TV. Also Need for Speed Most Wanted supported widescreen. These are two GameCube games I have that support it.
Yeah, I do feel Minus World has no point other than just a fun thing to do, which it is. Cool, I don't think I've tried going for everything in a game, I usually like playing from start to finish, and doing the other stuff after beating the game, to add some extra stuff to post game. Especially exploration stuff, it always amuses me whenever I find something I missed first time playing.
