@EaglyTheKawaiiShika is Community worth watching? It's still on Netflix and I need something new to watch.

Thought I'd ask since you've said you liked it (or something) before.

Happy New Year! Time to get to those replies.

@Sunsy You yeah I meant to ask you if you were enjoying, but you just got the game at the time so I was gonna wait to ask. Nice to hear! What do you like about it most so far?

Yup, so far, I'm loving it. The open area of Kronos Island is what I like most about it. It just works so weirdly well! My only complaint, in the level areas, moving Sonic feels looser than I expected. Aside from that, I'm loving this game.

MarioLover92 wrote:

@Sunsy That's cool. I also came across that same model of the Genesis before getting mine from eBay, when I was 9. That was when I first played Sonic 1 and 2. I kinda like how the model 2 looks, with its more modern and compact form factor.

Nice, the first time I've seen Steam reviews of the game, it's gotten quite a positive reception so I'm looking forward to getting it. I'd draw characters I like when I was a teenager as well, and honestly, I still like doing it too.

I'd imagine that Sky-High Sundae was being developed for both 8 Deluxe and Tour, and just so happened to release first on the former. I sure hope so too! I like your Branch pillow pet, as well.

Cool, yeah this model was the one my brother had. I always found it interesting as it was more like a SNES with a power and reset button, yet, the older model had volume, power and rest, and even a headphone jack. I always liked how classy the model 1 look, but the model 2 provides the most nostalgia for me.

Enjoy it when you do, I'm loving it so far and I'm really surprise it adapts things from each game. Sonic doing a floor tile light puzzle in one spot, I was like "wait, did they seriously use a puzzle from Sonic Boom?" It's fast, there's lots of rails to reach certain areas, quests, mini events, it's really good so far IMO. Yeah, it's always fun to draw characters I love.

It seems that way, still cool as it does mean new tracks. I still haven't tried Tour. Thanks, I'm glad to have him too, Poppy and Branch belong together! Especially after the events of the movie.

@Sunsy I've actually never used Peacock, but that doesn't sound like a fun experience. The only smart functions I use on my TV are some occasional YT viewings...which doesn't happen a lot. What can I say, I just don't watch a lot of passive media lol.

I hope you're enjoying your time with Sonic Frontiers!

I usually use YouTube often, I like putting on streams, or gaming news videos to listen to while I do chores around the house. Even streams to fall asleep to, like space, or a train ride, or a fire place during the holiday season.

That I am, been playing it for a week already and enjoying every moment of it.

Apologies for double post, I missed these while trying to catch up.

Also, I'm a Paw Patrol dog because I don't wanna be an anime waifu.

edit in the new year i'm gonna try to be more like Fizza

Happy New Year to you too.

Welcome back.
So you pick Marshall from Paw Patrol ?
I prefer Chase or Tracker from Paw Patrol since I have Paw Patrol games on PS4.

Btw, what games will be your focus in year 2023 ?

Skye because that's who was on the drink topper our friend at the local supermarket gave me. A friend that helps mom at the local supermarket with online orders gave me a Paw Patrol drink with Skye on it and some brownies as a Christmas surprise. She's cute, so no complaints.

So far, I don't know what games I would focus on getting in 2023 yet, I want to wait a bit to see what comes out. I might pick up some games I've been waiting on, like Smurfs Kart.

I don’t know if I can watch the NFL game tonight. A player went into cardiac arrest and has went to the hospital and they still are trying to play the game. They should just cancel the game, but the NFL totally can’t afford losing a the revenue from the game.

@Sunsy
I think I have to pick 3DS games I don't have yet during year 2023 as 3DS eshop will get closed by end of March 2023 and I'm concerned it will make some 3DS games in retail will get inflated price due to its rarity.
I will keep building my PS3 , PS4 & PS5 games during year 2023 but I also will build my Switch games once I found cheaper price for 1st party games.
Btw, have you tried Paw Patrol Grand Prix on Switch or Steam / PC ?

@Tyranexx Happy New Year! May all our dreams come true for 2023. On my Christmas haul, thanks! That's cool we both have Mario sweaters, albeit in different colors. That sweater I got was actually an early Christmas gift, and I got to wear it right on Christmas. Plus my other Mario sweater to keep extra warm.

Yeah same here, Steam lets me get games that aren't on Nintendo consoles, as I don't own any of the newer PlayStation/Xbox consoles. There are some games that run/play best on PC, too, those reasons are pretty much why I have Steam.

Been playing quite a bit of Splatoon 3, really enjoying this game. There's a Splatfest coming up next weekend... I'm looking forward to doing my best in it! I'm on Team Sweet.

@Sunsy Happy New Year from yours truly! May all our dreams come true for this year. I wonder if Sega had any inspiration from the SNES when making the model 2 Genesis, lol. The power and reset buttons are literally on the same spots! Only there's no eject button for taking out cartridges.

I'll be sure to let you know when I get Sonic Frontiers, and what I thought of it. Right now, I've been in a Splatoon mood since last Christmas, when I got Splatoon 3. Especially with the next Splatfest coming up next weekend, so I've been practicing quite a bit. The team I picked was Team Sweet, since I love stuff like cake and cookies. I'm not too into the other taste choices either, lol. Just curious, do you have Splatoon 3, as well?

Awesome to hear you have them together.

It is the athletes choice if they participate ( in most cases). But when someone literally dies on the field the game needs to be called off.

Also that hot pants story is inexcusable.

They called off the game. About an hour to late, but at least they called it off.

@blindsquarel Read up on the WWF PPV Over the Edge from 1999. Similar situation, except a wrestler tragically died that night and they still went on with the show. Really sad to read about. There was even a Dark Side of the Ring episode about it.

@Anti-Matter Sounds like a plan to me. No I haven't, this drink was a gift someone gave me. Skye is cute so I do like the top, but haven't played the game. I like these kind of drinks, you get a drink and a collectable character top. I have something similar with Trolls and MLP, drink, but the cap is collectable.

@MarioLover92 Thank you, happy new year to you too. It did come out after the Super NES, it was also a bit more compact than the original Genesis 1 model. The buttons are in the same exact spots!

Hope you enjoy it whenever you get around to it. Glad to hear you're enjoying Splatoon 3, I don't have the game yet, hoping to get it within the year. Sounds like a good plan, I would have chose Team Sweet too.

Indeed, Poppy and Branch's friendship is one of my favorite things about the series. There's a bit more to it, but I don't want to spoil the movie in event you want to ever watch it.

The NFL game tonight ( bills and bengals)
They had to do CPR for nine minutes on the field. Luckily they got his heart beating again, but he’s in critical condition right now.

@Sunsy Yeah there the weakest part of the game in my opinion, not nearly as fun to play in as the open world.

Nintendo are like woman, You love them for whats on the inside, not the outside…you know what I mean! Luzlane best girl!

@Anti-Matter I am not implying that there are no good looking cartoons, it's just that there is a trend of anime looking better than cartoons, as a whole. I know that in 60s and 70s cartoons looked better than anime, but now the trend has reversed. The big oof is that western cartoons tend to reverse all that progress. Seeing the cartoons in 90s and seeing cartoons now, I can say that nowadays companies tend to skimp on animation budget, probably thinking that kids won't see the difference.

Princess_Lilly

Princess_Lilly

@EaglyTheKawaiiShika That was a great comparison, thanks. Yeah, that's pretty much the problem, adult cartoons look like they were scribbled in 10 minutes in a bus, because the companies don't care, as long as it sells. And unfortunately, it does sell, seeing how many of those copies of copies of copies are coming out annually. Sounds like we completely agree on animation being not only for kids and being a great medium for conveying brilliant stories without mind-blowing budget.

It's a shame that nowadays everything is so... standardized. Every western AAA that came out after 2010 looks and plays exactly the same, as if I bought the same game 5 times. Same with movies. That's why I mostly gave up on them and retreated to anime/indie and Nintendo games.

@ComfyAko
Yeah, used to be 80's and 90's Western cartoon with hand drawing style were really good.
Let's say some example like Jem and the Holograms, Biker Mice from Mars, Captain Planet, Road Rovers, etc.
I personally never like poor design style from Western cartoon such as Gumball, Clam Chowder, Ed Edd & Eddy, Billy & Mandy, etc as I didn't see the appeal from that awful character design in my opinion.

@EaglyTheKawaiiShika I quite like Eunie and Mio. (By the way, I'm up to Colony Lambda at the moment.)
@Snatcher I think Studio Trigger's works due to being quite comedic just suit dubs better. (Okay, P&SwG wasn't made by Trigger, but it was made by the people who joined Trigger.)

@Anti-Matter Word up. I have no idea why some cartoons have horrible graphic style for no reason. After all, people like things that are estheatically pleasing
