@Zybrissa I honestly have no idea what that is. This December, I'm watching anime with my brother and trying to figure out what anime characters are saying before I read the subtitles. It's hard cause my rock brain doesn't wanna learn Japanese even though I wanna learn it so I can go to Japan with my brother. Akihabara is, like, the place you go to for technology, and he loves technology, so I wanna go with him once I remember how to say you're welcome in Japanese. I can remember how to say thank you, but not you're welcome. It's really weird. And for Christmas, I'm gonna bake a wreath cake, as I'm a good baker. And it's time for me and my brother's annual watching of ToraDora.

@EllaTheKawaiiNeko It's a mind game people play for the first 24 days of December. You have to avoid hearing a certain Christmas song (which is played ad nauseum in certain countries) by the band Wham!, hence the name. If you hear it even once, you fail.
@Zybrissa I've never heard of that song, so I think I'll switch it out for All I Want For Christmas is you to make it harder. But, as of right now, I'm listening to Christmas music, but Japanese, cause I'm a weirdo who prefers when songs are sung in Japanese. Maybe it's subconciously helping me learn or something.

@EllaTheKawaiiNeko I think passively consuming Japanese-language media is a good a way to learn, actually. I remember when I was learning how to read it, I made a point of reading and speaking Japanese players' screen names in online games. That helped at least as much as formal study did.
@Sunsy Thanks. I am sorry to hear that you don't have yours as well. Although if I really wanted them I could find them easy enough, they pop up all the time on eBay.
It's ok, over the years, I do take better care of plushies. The older Muppet ones were packed up when I got older, and eventually sadly lost now. Nowadays, I take better care of plushies. I still do collect ones based on characters I like, I wouldn't be surprised if I decide to get some of them from eBay one day.
@Sunsy Thank you! That's a cool Poppy ornament your mom got you! Thanks for showing me.
Yeah, I did notice that the Hallmark ornaments don't come with hooks. I did have spare hooks of my own, so that helped me out quite a bit. I agree on the star tree topper! Before that, we had an angel for the top of the tree. That reminds me, I think it'd be really cool to have a Rosalina tree topper, where she'd light up on top of the tree. I don't think they made one though. That's cool your mom's into doll collecting. Wow that is a bit odd, that would scare me as well, lol. The same thing happened with me, my mom squeezed a snowman plush by habit, and we didn't know it would start playing a Christmas carol. We had it for a long time too. lol
Gotcha, that's still nice. I still have yet to set up the scenery as of now, I'd like to put them up today if possible. Yeah I'm looking forward to Wednesday as well! We should play online after the next wave hits sometime.
That's cool you sort your ornaments like that, while I tend to spread out my ornaments, I did group my three Mario 4-ornament sets together, on three sides of the tree. (The ones I have are the ones with portraits of Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Yoshi, ones of the same characters but with their silhouettes, and ones with Super Mario World sprites.) Nice, love your idea with your Raccoon Mario and Peach ornaments.
You're welcome!
Yeah, it usually needs a hook or a string/ribbon to be put onto the tree. I don't know why the keepsake ornaments do that because the standard ones usually have a ribbon attached. That would be an awesome tree topper, similarly we did have an angel for a few years, Rosalina and Luma would be cool, or a Luma tree topper! She's always been into it, it's just something she likes. I remember giving her some of the holiday Barbie dolls since she really likes them, but always missed out. I'm trying to remember something I had years ago, that I didn't know I could do something in it until recently. Can't remember what it was.
Definitely, we should race on the new courses sometime. I'm looking forward to doing them in the Grand Prix mode.
Cool, I'm thinking about even hanging my original Mario ornament that I got as a kid. It's just in really good shape, but I still love how it's so old it has the Princess Toadstool on the gift tag. Here's the pic I took when I found it last year.
My mom often goes on about how my brother doesn't like memories and traditions, and I showed this to her the other day explaining that it made me play Super Mario All-Stars around Christmas, which I still like doing. Same with Sonic Mega Collection, or variants of the games (I have memories of playing Sonic 3D Blast near Christmas, and the Dreamcast and Mega Collection port of Sonic 1 on Christmas).
@Sunsy I'm glad your friend is feeling better! Plenty of sickness in my area too. 'Tis the season unfortunately. I'm currently pretty healthy.
The original Grinch movie is great, and I also quite enjoy the Jim Carrey adaptation. Then again, I enjoy Jim Carrey in general. But the Illumination Grinch movie clearly had a lot of care put into it. Howl's Moving Castle is another movie I need to watch at some point...as well as most of the other Studio Ghibli films. So far I've only seen My Neighbor Totoro and Spirited Away. I need to track down a DVD collection or something. XD Usually the theater isn't too packed when I go. My local theater has $5 Tuesdays, and that typically doesn't seem to be a very busy evening. Any shows before noon are $4.50, but I can't usually swing that due to work. Saturday mornings are too busy for my liking, otherwise I'd take advantage of the pricing then.
Me too, though I am a bit scared of getting sick, been stuck at home just to make sure I don't get sick before the movie (friend said we have a backup plan as another theater is showing the movie too). Right now, I just feel some sniffles, but I'm going to blame the weather as I had to step outside to put garbage out. I don't feel sick, and I usually have a stuffy nose in general. I haven't been anywhere since last Monday when I had to do an errand.
Both are great, actually saw the original Grinch on TV a few weeks ago, they showed it along with Trolls Holiday In Harmony on a local NBC station (I don't have cable, but can watch local channels, mom and I mostly stream or watch on DVD). The Jim Carrey one is great too, you end up feeling bad for the Grinch. Who knew that the Whos down in Whoville... are such jerks! Illumination Grinch ended up being my favorite, I still love that Cindy Lou Who actually captures The Grinch. I agree, there was a lot of care put into it.
I still need to see more Ghibli movies. My friend has been introducing me to them. He showed me Ponyo, and we saw Howl's Moving Castle at a local theater (funnily enough the same theater I saw My Little Pony The Movie in, I recognized it as it's the only theater I know with a 16:9 screen). I still want to see Kiki's Delivery Service, I still remember the old ads.
Sometimes special showings can be cheap. The August showing of Trolls World Tour only costed $1, or $3.75 if you wanted a ticket and meal (popcorn, small drink, and a fun sized candy). It's nice when theaters do events like that, not only the trip to see a movie, but it's another chance at seeing it on the big screen, or in Trolls World Tour's case, not having a proper release because of a worldwide problem.
@TeaCatherine I like your new pfp. I think it's cute. @Zybrissa You speak Japanese? That's really cool! I can barely write my name, let alone write full on scentances. And I only know the Kanji for day. Though, unlike my brother, I don't forget to add "desu" in scentances where a desu is needed. I think I can also properly use the syllable "no" though I'm not 100% certain I use it where it's needed.

@EllaTheKawaiiNeko Thanks for complimenting my profile picture. (It's Mythra from Xenoblade 2 in case you didn't know, she's a rather cute tsundere on top of being really powerful and conflicted.)
I know a bit of Japanese. "君は馬鹿です" (and that's the most important thing to know anyway.)

@EllaTheKawaiiNeko Yeah, my brother hates jazz too, personally I like some jazz. I only know a really small bit too, most of which I picked up through anime.
