Anti-Matter

I just realized even Story of Seasons Pioneers of Olive Town PS4 physical version still didn't included with the DLC in disc.
The Season Pass from PSN was $14.99 when I checked just now.
Dang... šŸ˜‘
But fortunately my physical copy is USA version, matched with my USA PS4 account so I can add some funds and purchase the DLC whenever I'm ready.

@Kermit1Pineapple Saw your post asking for a TV-14 anime although I'm afraid I'm not familiar with that rating system so I can't really help.

I had to go back ten pages to find your post @Tyranexx this is what happens when I wait one day to reply back!

Some fair criticisms there. Story does seem like an afterthought in some of the open world titles I've played, though IMHO part of the fun is finding some of the well-written nuggets (if the game has anything well written anyway). Some great examples of this are XC3 like you mentioned, XCX, and Breath of the Wild to a lesser extent. Admittedly, I would've liked more story beats with the latter - Zelda fans like yours truly have been spoiled lol - but what was there was pretty decent. Seems like we're on similar wavelengths when it comes to gameplay; thank Arceus that some of these games incorporate fast travel lol. There were some neat genuine discoveries in BotW, though some of it did admittedly become same-y after a bit. I went all over the map (darn Koroks) and put ~165 hours into that game. And I didn't 100% it. XD You can also genuinely do some crazy things with that game's overworld and physics engine.

I do agree with your criticisms of Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed formula based on my limited experiences with the series. The most recent entry I've played is 4/Black Flag, which did have some entertaining story bits and side content (Drunken Sailor, anyone? ). Though nothing too in-depth. I haven't played any of their more recent offerings that some have said are truly open world. I do have the Switch version of Rogue (via Rebel Collection) backlogged though. Not sure if I'll bother with the Ezio Collection due to the download size even with a physical cart....And I played more than my fill of the middling ACIII on the Wii U.

(Edit: @TheJGG summarizes my thoughts fairly well now that I come upon their post. Though I unfortunately haven't played some of the cited examples, like Ghost of Tsushima and Horizon Zero Dawn due to the platforms they're on.)

You just need to experience the awesome power of a real console! I CAN FEEL THE POWER! I CAN FEEL THE STRENGTH! Open world design in Switch games always has somewhat of an asterisk next to it for that reason; there's always technical issues, awful loading times, bad framerates, whenever we get a massive open world Switch game. BotW has this issue a little, it holds 30fps 900p competently until you start messing with physics or go into Kakariko Village . Only major 1-2nd party open world game I can think of on a Ninty console without much issue is Xenoblade X and don't get me started on how much I'm still in disbelief that that game even works properly.

Other open world games also have tons of flavour text and whatnot, to spice the world up. HZD has this to some extent with archives, little stories, audio files, etc, to expand the world in that way. Even XCX had a massive database full of enemies with descriptions and whatnot. FFXV does this too, though it's a PS4 game.

Ultimately I believe that BotW and Death Stranding are similar in design because of their attitude to the world. It's not about the destination but rather the journey, because the world is a such a sandbox.

Is that when you're like a Roman Emperor?

Someone lend me a fiddle so I can play as Rome burns to the ground!

(fun fact, fiddles didn't even exist during his time. It was probably a lyre)

Nerodivergant is the PC way to refer to people who have mental deviations

That would be neurotypical / neurodivergent

@EaglyTheKawaiiShika Yeah, I know there's nothing wrong with correcting people, it's just my parents keep telling me and my siblings to stop being pedantic.

One of my sisters is definitely exploiting the fact everything is on YouTube (she's watching a show called Taskmaster (no relation to the Marvel one) in Danish.)
