Poor, Will Smith.
He will through his 50's age without being allowed to participate in Grammy Awards and he will not be included in any movie projects anymore.
Does anyone else experience some occasional odd behavior where you click on a notification, but the website doesn't take you to the exact comment? It's not a huge problem, but it gets irritating sometimes....
@EaglyTheKawaiiShika Some fair criticisms there. Story does seem like an afterthought in some of the open world titles I've played, though IMHO part of the fun is finding some of the well-written nuggets (if the game has anything well written anyway). Some great examples of this are XC3 like you mentioned, XCX, and Breath of the Wild to a lesser extent. Admittedly, I would've liked more story beats with the latter - Zelda fans like yours truly have been spoiled lol - but what was there was pretty decent. Seems like we're on similar wavelengths when it comes to gameplay; thank Arceus that some of these games incorporate fast travel lol. There were some neat genuine discoveries in BotW, though some of it did admittedly become same-y after a bit. I went all over the map (darn Koroks) and put ~165 hours into that game. And I didn't 100% it. XD You can also genuinely do some crazy things with that game's overworld and physics engine.
I do agree with your criticisms of Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed formula based on my limited experiences with the series. The most recent entry I've played is 4/Black Flag, which did have some entertaining story bits and side content (Drunken Sailor, anyone? ). Though nothing too in-depth. I haven't played any of their more recent offerings that some have said are truly open world. I do have the Switch version of Rogue (via Rebel Collection) backlogged though. Not sure if I'll bother with the Ezio Collection due to the download size even with a physical cart....And I played more than my fill of the middling ACIII on the Wii U.
(Edit: @TheJGG summarizes my thoughts fairly well now that I come upon their post. Though I unfortunately haven't played some of the cited examples, like Ghosts of Tsushima and Horizon Zero Dawn due to the platforms they're on.)
@MarioLover92 Oh, you can bet I'll find some excuse to wear that sweater on Christmas! Regarding Dragalia Lost, no idea if that'll become its own IP or if it'll remain an ambitious experiment.
Zelda II is kind of an odd duck that was a candidate for the "weird sequel" trend back in the 80s. Gaming was quite experimental back then from what I've read. It has some decent ideas, some of which are found in other titles. Like the use of magic power and certain items or names (Side hint: look up the names of the towns in Zelda II, then look at the names of the sages in Ocarina of Time. ). It's a fun game in its own right, but the difficulty curve after the first palace is nothing to laugh about. Death Mountain is well named; I daresay it's even tougher than the second palace right after it. I too would like to see another Mario game like Super Mario Bros. 2/Super Mario USA, even if it's a remake.
@Kermit1Pineapple The 502 Bad Gateway errors are a server side thing that the site seems to experience on occasion. As this site is based out of the UK, I often wonder if a server reboot or something triggers it....I occasionally deal with errors like this in my line of work.
Knees weak, arms are heavy? Vomit on your sweater already, mom's spaghetti?
@EaglyTheKawaiiShikaBlack Flag is very fun and gives the player some relative freedom while also sporting a decent (though not award-winning) plot. Piracy is quite fun; taking ships, beating up British forts, working on your pirate settlement, and visiting some Caribbean towns/cities back in the day along with some occasional parkour is pretty fun in my book lol. Edward can occasionally be a jerk, but he has much more charisma than some other AC protagonists.
I'm one of the ten people who hasn't played GTA 5 - the games aren't for me - but I hope you enjoy it! BotW's systems have quite a bit of depth; people are still discovering crazy things you can do in the game 5+ years later. I do admit the fast travel in that game is quite welcome. XD
