If someone gives you an expensive gift you don’t want are you greedy/spoiled for not wanting it? Like you have absolutely no interest in it yet you get something you’ve said previously you don’t want
If it’s something you don’t want, and there’s no harm in accepting it, I suppose you can donate it or sell it.
However, if there’s some kind of power dynamic involved or some sort of darker meaning to the gift, you’re entirely free to stand your ground and define boundaries.
@EaglyTheKawaiiShika No, once I found out my parents were getting me Star Wars Black Series figures and I thought they were the new ones (Last Jedi) but on Christmas day when I opened the huge box it was Force Awakens figures. I was thankful and never said a word about seeing them.
Nowadays i'm so select to shop for I end up buying 50% of what I get for Christmas.
@EaglyTheKawaiiShika well given the fact they cancelled the order, it seems me they’ve definitely taken your input into consideration. It might have offended them, which is normal… But I doubt they will be actually mad about it.
As for my total honest opinion, it sounds like you might be bit hard to buy for, and well… Unfortunately that’s a frustrating situation for everyone involved, and one without an easy solution that doesn’t involve being “that guy”.
@EaglyTheKawaiiShika well I’m not sure how much it will help, but here are a few general tips, from a that guy to another:
Sometimes our opinions, hobbies, and beliefs are not as obvious as we might think, so it’s healthy to let them out every now and then.
Parents will parent. You and your siblings will always be a blurry Venn Diagram for them. Additionally sometimes they simply don’t know better when it comes to the finer points of our hobbies, and also have their own biases. So it’s important to develop a bit of a poker face. Remember: be honest, but not unpleasant.
Assume good intentions. Assuming the worst might the easiest option, but it’s rarely the correct one; It can become a self-inflicted burden.
@EaglyTheKawaiiShika Sometimes it is not the gift itself or if they listened to what you really want. Be happy that they try to guess what you like even if it is in the last moment or something
I was surprised couple of years ago that my GF gifted me One X for Christmas even if I am only a fan of the 360
After all you can always buy what you want yourself It will mean more for them to see you like the present even if you don't

I don’t think it’s that big of a deal, although I can see where your parents got the idea you Might want the funky pop.
Also, your not ungrateful, ungrateful is being upset that you didn’t meet your uncle for cardinals merch ( he owns a store) when your parents have already got tickets to a freaking NFL game. Still feel bad about giving the a hard time about that.
