@MarioLover92 Yeah, you could say that. ILCA did make some improvements to be sure - For the most part, I really like the changes to The Underground, plus they added a Pokemon follow mechanic - but from what I've read/currently experienced they're almost 1:1 remakes. I would've loved a Nintendo Power sub, but the only subscription I think my mom ever willingly bought me was a Disney-related monthly mini-magazine. I can't even recall what it was called exactly. Still wish I'd kept a couple of them.
@Sunsy Happy birthday! Glad that you've had a good one!

@Sunsy Yeah no problem! Sounds like you had a fabulous birthday. My birthday was similar, except it was all Mario-themed. I did get an eShop card as well, though I wasn't sure what to get until the last Nintendo Direct showed off the Mario Kart DLC!
Absolutely, I kind of miss using the old IBM Aptiva that we had. I think pretty much all the old PC games (that we've had, anyway) work best on the OS that they were designed for. I remember playing Atari Arcade Hits on a newer PC, and the graphics were messed up at times. I've heard of Michael MJD, I may want to check his stuff out.
Oh that's awesome you can get through that part on your first go now. That sort of reminds me, I used to have trouble on one of the World 8 levels in Super Mario Bros. 3 where you're jumping from one airship to the next. Nowadays I can finish it within the first few attempts at least, if not on my first try. It is a tough level for sure though!
Nice. It's got a whole bunch of other games too, including Turtles in Time's Genesis counterpart, Hyperstone Heist. Never played that one either, though I did hear its levels are longer. Also have you heard that Taito's releasing their Sega Saturn games on Switch and other platforms, including Galactic Attack? Been wanting it on Switch for quite some time, it's a really solid shmup if you like the genre, and I like its music.
@Tyranexx Oh that's cool they added that feature, I remember that Pikachu would follow you around in Pokemon Yellow, and I know your starter would do the same thing in HG/SS. Oh that Disney mini magazine sounds familiar, I think we had a few of those. I was thinking it was called Disney Adventures, I looked it up and lo and behold, that's exactly what it was called!
@MarioLover92 Yep, Yellow is what originally had the Pokemon follow mechanic, then they turned that up to 11 in HG/SS and have brought it back in some form in some of the games ever since. It's a fun cosmetic thing mostly. Ah yes, you're correct! It was Disney Adventures! I think I had a sub for about a year or so. I'm pretty sure my mom only bought it because she was hit up for a fundraiser lol.

@Sunsy Happy Birthday to you! It sounds like you had a good time, as others have also said. Hope it went well and that you got some good cake to eat, one ideally fit for a certain Princess Toadstool.

Regarding 4K Gamer Pro marketing photo: Do I dare say, nobody's 1080p TV image is as bad as the frame on the right without 4K Gamer Pro? I'm open to being wrong, but I can't help feel skeptical about the photo.
@WoomyNNYes It's so smooth. Those images have more crispness than a bag of Walkers.

Some of you may know a Pokemon Youtuber by the name of CandyEvie. She makes great videos on things like obscure games/items, shiny hunting and just the weirdest things you can think of at times and it's a great watch all the time. Lately, she's been sending out hundreds of Magnemite's through BDSP Wonder Trade in memory of a self-promotion tactic she used back in BW2 (trust me, it makes a lot more sense when you watch her video on it), livestreaming the process as she does so. I was using the GWS to get rid of Corsola from a failed radar chain and breedjects from my current shiny Shroomish hunt. On the penultimate trade before signing off, I get a Magnemite from someone called Hector.... named YT:CandyEvie. Immediately recognising the name, I hurry to the summary page to make sure and, sure enough, the OT is 'Lucy', CandyEvie's trainer in-game.
Needless to say I am over the moon.

I'll tell you something though: the GWS has been a godsend for me. I've gotten so many foreign mons with some of the best names possible (a Shinx called Not Imposter being the highlight so far) along with some absolutely insane breedjects in Love Ball 4IV Ralts and Moon Ball 5IV Jolly Gligar. And then, about 1 week ago, I got the crowning jewel of wonder trade: a Japanese Ditto. THE MASUDA METHOD STARTS NOW BABY.

@Tyranexx I remember the name of the magazine itself, but it's been years since I've read them so I kinda forgot what stuff they've covered. That's cool your mom got them from a fundraiser, I've done fundraisers in school long ago, except it was chocolate candies.
Oh I also wanna say that I got some Game Boy games from the 3DS eShop, including Wario Land 2 and 3. I wanna try to finish 2, then 3 - I've beaten the first one already, which I really liked. I've been recommended the Golden Sun games, I did hear that it's best to play both of the GBA ones if I start playing the first one. I've heard of them plenty of times, even while reading through Nintendo Power, though I never even touched them.
@MarioLover92 It was, I don't think I ever had a character themed birthday aside from cake, I'm happy it was centered around Trolls and my favorite character, Poppy. I don't usually do parties, I usually keep it small and to family and a friend. That sounds like a nice birthday being Mario themed. Yeah, I usually ask for a game, but I wanted an eShop card this time because of the Mario Kart DLC.
I've been enjoying the channel, he goes into old versions of Windows, seeing what works on his $5 PCs, and goes into a bit of history on computers too. I think the first video I seen of his was when he was trying the Microsoft Internet Games, like Hearts and such, that were included in Windows, before their services were shut down.
Yeah, once I realized it wasn't a real timer, it was based on sequence, I could get to the door, and leave before it blows up with no problem. That's really.
I didn't know there was a Genesis counterpart to Turtles in Time. Think I saw the headline on the Saturn stuff, just haven't looked into it yet.
@Fizza That's really cool. I've heard of CandyEvie before, I think I've seen some of her videos.
The resident Trolls superfan! Saw Trolls Band Together via early access and absolutely loved it!
@MarioLover92 I have both Golden Sun games waiting to be played but I just have too many games and too much side activities (like drawing, sculpting and coding) And I too have heard only good things about those games
