@Tyranexx It's alright, all I remember from Math Blaster was the trash shoot 'em up. Cool, I don't think I ever played the Time one, just the World and USA one. IIRC, the versions I played had a video phone where you get messages from either a robot, or a police officer named "Wanda," which for some reason I remember her name, lol.
You're welcome, I remember buying SimCity 2000 during a summer sale there. I was really surprised to find it too. Roller Coaster Tycoon, another one I played back then. My brother had the game, I have it now because of GOG. I also like the Theme games even though I was late to them, and I also play Two Point Hospital and Cities Skylines on PC. Always enjoyed these kind of games.
@Zuljaras Forget the NES Mini, it's the NES Nano! Looks good, but one must know, what are the games?
@MarioLover92 Same here, when my family got a PC after the Mac, it was using Windows 98. Most of the DOS games I experience used an emulator called DOSBox, which plays DOS games on modern PCs. Cool part is, DOSBox is included with modern re-releases on GOG and Steam. So I experienced them that way. Many publishers adopted DOSBox for official re-releases of classic games.
I wouldn't know how the past songs worked as I had the old Windows 95 version, and all the audio were CD tracks on that version. In fact, if you put the PC CD into a CD Player and play track 2 on (track 1 being data), you could listen to the soundtrack. It is cool they did that. I forgot all about the Japanese version's ending song. Sonic Boom always came to mind for the ending. Tidal Tempest's song from the Japanese version feels more fitting as it gives me that "trapped in water" feel, for lack of a better phrase, so it stands out.
Me too, I usually don't ask for much outside a game and something character related.
The resident Trolls superfan! Saw Trolls Band Together via early access and absolutely loved it!
@Sunsy I took the main colors from Castlevania (green + blue), Faxanadu (yellow + gray in the middle) and Castlevania 2 (blue + white and little black in the middle)
It seems stupid but it was important for me somehow
@Zuljaras The amount of little details on this thing is incredible! Keep up the great work man!
MY SUMMER EXAMS ARE OVER THANK THE LORD
Mario Maker 2 Maker ID: YT1-0Q2-YFF
Please ask for permission before using my FC! Currently Playing: Blaster Master (NES)
@Sunsy That's cool, I've heard of a lot of DOS games like Chip's Challenge and Crystal Caves, and they honestly look pretty fun. Both are on Steam, with the latter being called Crystal Caves HD. Wasn't The Incredible Machine a DOS game as well? I remember playing that during my school days.
I actually did that with my Sonic CD PC disc too, it is indeed really cool that they made it so that you could listen to the game's music on any CD player. Love the Tidal Tempest theme in the Japanese version too, it's really fitting for a water level and it's super chill. I also like Palmtree Panic's Japanese theme a lot more than its US counterpart, love how cheerful it sounds.
@Zuljaras I know I said this on your Twitter post, but you did a nice job on that miniature NES. Your finished product looks quite rad!
Heh, I thought the colour of the headband looked slightly different but I wasn't familiar enough with them to know what it meant, @Zuljaras .... What should he play, then, @Link-Hero?
@Eel Those chocolate chip cheesecake cookies look sinfully delicious! The only problem with using recipes from the internet is sorting through all the ads and fluff.
@MarioLover92 I'd argue BDSP are almost too close to the originals; this isn't necessarily a bad thing, but so far they feel like very safe remakes compared to the remakes that came before. I'm still having fun with it, but they definitely could have done more. I stopped buying player's guides when my internet access became more regular and I didn't need them. Kinda explains why they died out lol. I unfortunately never had the opportunity to subscribe to Nintendo Power.
@Sunsy Most of the earlier Carmen Sandiego games were geography based, so that makes sense lol. "Wanda" kinda sounds right, but honestly it's been so long that I'm not 100% sure.
On Rollercoaster Tycoon: I still have the original disc, and it surprisingly runs on my Windows 10 laptop. The only hiccup is an unknown error when exiting the game, but it still saves and functions properly from what I can tell. Oh, and the resolution is small compared to modern screen displays. XD I've heard of Two Point Hospital and Cities Skylines, but I haven't played them.
@Zuljaras Love love LOVE that Mikey diorama! He's playing video games and eating one of my favorite foods to boot!
@Cybergirl I'm very sorry for what you're going through. I hope this needless conflict ends very soon. We're here if you wanna chat. All the best.~
@TheJGG I've certainly had stress-driven sleep disturbances, but I don't believe that was the case...at least directly. Once in awhile it is due to oversleep the night before, but that isn't a frequent occurrence. Still in the research phase of that essay? I completely understand not having the time to invest in it outside of mandatory study periods; RL likes hitting like a train sometimes. Especially when multiple essays are in the mix....I'm guessing several long ones too.
Oh boy, don't get me started on the BotW2 micro-analyses floating around lol. I'm definitely excited about the game and am fine with the delay, but I feel like watching every speculation video will only wear me out. Good point on Cyberpunk 2077, at least from what I've read. I realize trailers with gameplay aren't the end-all be-all, but historically I've had better luck with gauging if I'll like a game based on gameplay footage. Or, better yet, a decent demo.
Many thanks for linking the Darin De Paul interview! It's clear that the guy has a lot of passion and energy for Ardyn's character. Definitely a very talented individual that absolutely loves what he does.
Octopath does appear to be a decent game overall; I'm just unsure if it's for me, at least 80+ hours of it lol. Yep, those who don't complain at all probably inhale FromSoftware games! Interesting that I picked up on the character inconsistencies you mentioned without playing all the routes. I have heard high praise for Primrose especially, enough that I'm almost considering giving the demo another try and starting with her. With my limited experience, I'd say I also connected with Cyrus the best out of the 3ish hours I put into the timed demo. His VA was definitely my favorite.
Currently playing: Layton's Mystery Journey: Katrielle and the Millionaires' Conspiracy (Switch)
@Cybergirl I echo everyone else's comments, the NL community is incredible. Sometimes it's a perfect distraction. It's a shame the world has to be like this, and it's a shame you've met us through this circumstance, so I hope you and your family and friends stay safe. Hope is the best weapon we can use.
