I want to be good at fighting games so bad, and I think I'm sorta am, just anxiety keeps me from playing them online every time, sorry I just dropped this comment in here.
It just sucks, one of my favorite types of video games every, and I can't even play them ):

@Snatcher
You can try ARMS or K-1 games on PS2. They don't have very complicated Special moves like Street Fighter or King of Fighter games. In ARMS, you just only press the R & L buttons quickly when unleashing Super power. You can practice vs CPU in lowest level if you have anxiety.
@Anti-Matter I'm not a big SF fan, but I love other fighters like DBZ, I used to be able to play them online just fine, but idk, I took a break for a wile and then, I just couldn't, I can't even play smash.
Thing is, if I force myself to play a match or two, it just goes away, so the hard part is really hyping myself to play a match to begin with, because I love inputs, and I love learning combos.

@Snatcher
You know what?
When I built my PS3 games, I dare myself to pick never before played games as long still for kids and I got new experience from playing those games. I quickly adapted the gameplay from PS3 games such as Sly Cooper, Ratchet & Clank, Rango, Tintin, G-Force, Mini Ninjas, Skylanders, etc.
As same analogy for fighting games, you can practice vs CPU first with lowest level. You can try ARMS for easier choice than Street Fighter as you just only use extended arms to hit the opponent. It takes some determination and practices to able to like games with genre you still bad on it.
@Anti-Matter Yeah. I still feel like I play them offline to much as I could do a CPU on the highest level in most fighters I play, and there just not enough anymore? But then I still cant go online, I feel like I'm just making it harder for myself, I just need to play.
Because half the time when I force myself, I go from "I'm about to sit here getting my butt handed to me, oh goody" to "Wow this is actually fun, what was I so scared about anyway" Next day, it resets, but I don't force myself, so I know that I will Enjoy it, its just about getting myself into a game first.
@Sunsy Yeah, both were made by Software Toolworks. Nintendo just let them use their characters, IIRC. I've seen videos of Mario's Time Machine as well. And yeah...it doesn't look that great, to put it lightly. I mean, one of the first things the game has you do is fill in a huge amount of blanks. If only Nintendo had that time travel concept themselves, that would've been the Sonic CD of Mario games!
That's kind of weird, honestly...Sofia was made by Disney themselves, from what I can tell anyway. I guess they gave Netflix the rights or something.
@Snatcher I'm kind of like that, I would really have to be in the mood to play something like Smash Bros., for example. Thing is, there are some wicked-good players online, and I keep losing. What I like doing is if I don't have enough experience with a certain character, I'd get a feel for them in training mode. Otherwise, I stick with any character who I'm best at using, like Mario for example.

Ask if you want to be Switch friends with me, but I'd like to know you first. Thanks! ❤️
@tekoii Thank you. Hope you watch Sonic 1, really is a great movie. Cool, I always played first person, but I remember when the game had the third person option.
@Snatcher Usually with fighting games, I tend to play online mostly with friends. Did play some Pokken Tournament on Wii U online back when it was new, but that's about it.
@MarioLover92 Yup, it's kind of like the same scenario with Mario Teaches Typing, I played that at school. It was the Mac version, which had some nice midi versions of Mario music (I heard the DOS version was a bunch of beeps). Oh my gosh, I would love a Mario CD of sorts, I like the time travel element of Sonic CD.
Yup, Sofia was created by Disney. The only thing I could think of is that Netflix has a deal with Disney, and it's stuck there until it expires, I first saw Sofia on Netflix in 2017. It's definitely Disney, since you like Belle, here's a clip of Sofia meeting Belle, most of the princesses (and Olaf) all make an appearance in the show.

@MarioLover92 I have a good few characters like that, I just wish I could get myself to feel the way I do feel after a few games, so I could just play online without a care, just get better, thats usually how I look at things, If I suck at a game, I would just get better, that used to work when I first started playing.
Mario is pretty fun actually, dude is just the perfect all rounder.
@Sunsy Pokken is actually a odd one, it was tekken and pokemon, but, its odd they never made a 2nd game, they had something going there.

So I have been replaying the original paper Mario again. I have never been able to get into the game in other playthroughs and just got bored. But something must have changed because this game is amazing. The only fault I have so far is locking action commands until about 2 hours into the game. I haven’t finished it yet, but so far it is number 3 in my rankings behind oragami king and super.( haven’t played TTYD yet but that will soon change.)

Well, they did the enhanced Switch port for it, @Snatcher .... Not sure how long ago that was but didn't it do well? So, there's certainly a chance of another at some point! At least more than if they hadn't ported the existing 1
@Snatcher Agreed, Pokken Tournament is really one of the most underrated fighters I've played. There was a Switch port for Pokken, but never a sequel. Honestly, I wouldn't mind one. Pokemon with Tekken style fighting was a fun mix.

Hmm, I think I saw an article that suggested that, @Snatcher .... It's certainly a bit soon to say there definitely won't be another 1, at least Afraid I prefer proper Tekken but I remember trying the demo for it & it was pretty good
@Sunsy I think so as well, I would be down for a new game any day! (Love the new PFP BTW)
@BruceCM I guess, just looking at other games that came out in a much smaller time frame from one another, or the same, and pokken getting left out just sucks.

@Snatcher Me too, I loved it. I still remember watching a few smaller Pokken Tournament tournaments on YouTube years ago too. It was nice seeing a small scene for the game at the time for the Wii U version.
Thanks. I originally wanted to use a picture of Poppy wearing a party hat as my birthday is this Thursday, but it didn't look as good when I tried it as an icon. So I just went with Poppy from the 2D Trolls cartoons. There was an episode in the Netflix series where she wore a party hat for Branch's birthday.

Today, I've been playing Mario Party Superstars with some good pals of mine. And I'm the super star - hooray!
@Sunsy I've heard of Mario Teaches Typing, but I don't think my school had it, unfortunately. That's cool your school had it though. Yeah, a lot of DOS games had a bunch of bleeps and bloops, I guess that's just how they were back in the day. I'd love a Mario CD of sorts as well. I liked Sonic CD too, I play through it sometimes. Just curious, what soundtrack do you like more? I think I like the Japanese soundtrack the best overall, but I like the US soundtrack quite a bit too. Sonic Boom is an awesome theme song as well.
Thanks for showing me the clip - it's quite cute! I appreciate the thought since Beauty and the Beast is my favorite Disney movie. I'd say it's one of my favorite movies in general too, honestly!
Oh and Sunsy, happy birthday in advance! I hope you have a nice birthday once the 7th hits.
@Snatcher Yeah, Mario's a pretty balanced character all things considered, and his moveset's easy to adapt to. His moves are fun to pull off too, I love using his super jump punch, which is his up special.

That was the sound of my head hitting my keyboard, half-dead from a busy (though good!) weekend and some obligatory yard work; bushes needed trimmed badly and branches needed tidying before I proceed with lawn decapitation in about a week or so.
@Sunsy Yep, that was Math Blaster! There were different stages if I recall, but my memory is somewhat foggy on the specifics. XD As for the Carmen Sandiego games, most of those were decent. Out of the bunch I mostly preferred the Where In Time Is Carmen Sandiego sub-series that focused on history.
I'll have to look up SimCity 2000 on GOG sometime. I appreciate the suggestion! I miss the old Maxis games, though various other companies have tried their takes on simulation with various degrees of success. IMHO the most iconic simulation series after early attempts were Zoo Tycoon and Rollercoaster Tycoon.
@MarioLover92 Hah, I'm definitely not a morning person either, but the encounter only thankfully involves one Pokemon. The funny thing is I would've completely forgotten about the guy if my OG Diamond/Pearl guide I dug out for this experience hadn't mentioned it. ILCA adhered enough to the originals that I'm able to make use of the guide in most cases. Makes me glad I keep some of those old official Pokemon Nintendo guides around!
@tekoii While it's a gimmick, I do want to mess around with Mouthful Mode when I grab the game! If only for Kirby to turn into a vending machine and pelt everything with soda cans. Nintendo-level design, you say? Thumbs up from me! I'm enjoying messing around with power-ups and how they affect the buddies in Kirby's Dream Land 2. I thought I was done with the game, but apparently King Dedede is NOT the true boss.
@MarioLover92 Yeah, IIRC, PC speaker is usually beeps and such. Some DOS games supported SoundBlaster, which allowed better sound effects. I never had a DOS PC back in the day, but I have played plenty of DOS games thanks to GOG. It's nice playing the classics that I never had a chance to play being a Mac kid.
The Japanese soundtrack really grew on me after playing the 2012 version on Steam. I do like the US soundtrack too. I also believe the "past" versions of the music stays the same across the board. Sonic Boom is a great song, fun trivia, the theme to the Japanese version, Toot Toot Sonic Warrior, is actually used for Green Hills Zone (yes, Hills with an "s") in the Game Gear version of Sonic 2. Watched the intro to Sonic CD on the Steam version and I was like "oh, I heard this before."
You're welcome, I'd figure you'd like it since you like that movie. Almost every Disney princess appears in Sofia the First, and I like Belle's appearance as they also show Beast in the lake.
Thank you, I'm looking forward to the day, and hoping to get the Mario Kart DLC (an eShop card for it anyway, you can't really "gift" something digital) and maybe a Trolls thing. Usually, I'm just happy with a game and something related to my favorite characters.
@Snatcher Thanks, looking forward to Thursday. Yeah, what I watched wasn't a major one. It was a smaller grass-roots channel that just did tournaments for Pokken and Smash. I don't think they're around anymore, but it was a small group in a room playing Pokken and Smash. It was fun to watch.
