@TheJGG Thanks for the well wishes! My sleep issues thankfully seem to be resolved for now. It's great not feeling like a living zombie. I'm still not fully sure what was up, but I have my suspicions and will definitely mention the issue at my next scheduled doctor visit. Nothing had changed with my routine to cause it, though I did have a lot going on then admittedly. Normally if it's anxiety-driven, I have trouble falling asleep. Again, much luck on your essay! :crossed_fingers:

I do get hyped about games, though I intentionally try not to get carried away. My problem with new game buzz is when some people start taking speculation as fact and then are disappointed in the resulting game. Some of it is false promises or lack of clarity on the marketing team's part though. Those points are why I'm wary of cinematic-only trailers. Those are all well and good, but I much prefer to see gameplay. Being specific is indeed key. I didn't really bother investing any time into the affinity system in XC2; I didn't see much point, plus it was rare that I couldn't afford something I wanted.

The gacha mechanics didn't initially bother me since the game throws plenty of guaranteed Blades at you earlier on. That or I was luckier during the first half of my game time. Towards the end of the game, I had so many common Blades that I wished you could send more than one team on Merc Missions. I'm very glad I did manage to trigger a healing Blade for Rex right before the sequences where he had to fight everyone towards the end of the game. I definitely felt the pain of "no Aegis" at that point lol. I'm sure XC3 will surface in some form at E3. Needless to say I'm eager to learn more!

I'm usually a sucker for excellent VA work, and it sounds like Final Fantasy XV is no different in that regard. I just briefly looked up Ardyn just enough to know the guy's a villain, but didn't dive into the details. Seems like Darin De Paul is drawn to the bad guys! Not necessarily a bad thing. The game becomes quite linear after a point? I don't mind linearity in a game depending on how it's implemented, but it can be a huge gray area for me. I don't know much about Final Fantasy XIII either, but from what I understand linearity was a complaint there too.

On Octopath: Yep, the structure is quite formulaic when you think about it. I already picked up on that during the demo/prologues. I got through Cyrus, Tressa, and started on Ophilia's story before my time ended. Cyrus's ordeal was actually kinda interesting, Tressa's wasn't bad but was predictable. Ophilia's...Well, she came off as a cookie-cutter cleric type for sure. I've heard there's a lot of grinding, which I normally don't mind in a limited capacity. That said, I suspect the game would test my patience with it. I haven't written the game off, but I believe some of my backlog is more worthy of my time.

On The Batman: I got to see it in a local theater, one of the best houses for it no less (mega suite, could've upgraded my ticket for a recliner, but I didn't need one that badly!). No IMAX cinemas are within reasonable driving distance though. There were a few other patrons, but we weren't packed in like sardines. The film gave off a comic book vibe at times with some of the shots, which I certainly appreciated. There were a couple of subtle references to Batman: The Long Halloween that I appreciated. Same guy who did Dune, you say? He certainly knows his stuff!

So is octopath worth playing? Because its on Xbox game pass and I want to play it, but I heard the storys kinda sucked.

@TheJGG Yeah, not just Disney, but cartoons and animated movies in general too. Really didn't consider Pixar movies to be a smaller scale, they usually get theatrical releases, except the last three. Would have loved to see Luca and Turning Red on the big screen.

@Tyranexx Yeah, online is how I bought my Omen laptop, thankfully HP let me customize stuff on my laptop when ordering. I added a 1TB HDD to my laptop for space for games, while my OS sits on an SSD, and the keyboard is red, instead of customizable with colors. That's fine, desktops are cool too.

Ah, I think that was an Apple II. My school had them too when I was in Kindergarten and first grade. Third grade, the school I went to had Macs, and my parents got one based on that. I did play some games like Star Wars Rebel Assault II, SimCity, and the Oregon Trail, but missed out on a lot of DOS games. Been playing quite a few thanks to GOG. I've played some of the Wing Commander games, Bioforge, Descent 1 and 2, and Jazz Jackrabbit to name a few.

I swear, every now and then I get a reply from a smart aleck user who thinks it’s funny to respond to a comment on an article that was almost a year ago. And when the user’s response is just “False” I seriously question how on earth a bot is able to make an NLife account in the first place.

And when the comment is clearly a joke, it’s even worse when some other geniuses come in and internet-splain how marketing works separately from the game development and leadership. Jokes are becoming poor because people can’t take them.

@TheJGG
I spotted some bot users spamming their negativity on random users including me. And they made a comment on old thread or articles.

Hey guys. I was real busy with some stuff yesterday, and I was gonna post my responses last night, but I was too tired. It was also the day I got to see Encanto. Such a wonderful movie! I pretty much agree with Sunsy, it's quite the magical flick and the story and characters are really nice.

And yes, I know of the BotW2 delay too. Which doesn't really bother me, I can wait for next spring while I have other games to keep me busy. I still have yet to beat BotW...I may need to finish it before its sequel comes out. There's plenty of time in that regard, thankfully.

@Tyranexx Yeah looks like you're correct, tanukis are from Japanese mythology, and they'd change forms with leaves. That's what I learned from a Mario-centric website called TMK.

Ah yeah those can get me too. I tend to play games at nighttime these days, since I'm mostly busy during the day. MK8D can get real chaotic online indeed, yes, especially in worldwide mode. Regional races are quite a bit more tame. I played with a friend of mine, who was playing in a worldwide lobby, and I kept getting destroyed time and time again. So yeah...definitely sticking with regional from now on! I actually can handle 150cc and even mirror mode...but 200cc is where I tend to struggle, depending on the course.

@Sunsy Agreed with you on Encanto. I finally saw it with mom yesterday and we loved it as well! I just saw the trailer for Luca and it looks like a fun watch, too.

I think I saw part of an Annie Awards show once, but that was years and years ago. Ah yeah I do like sci-fi as well, I like futuristic settings after all. Been thinking of seeing Jungle Cruise as well, how did you and your mom like it after seeing it? I've heard of Mickey Mouse Club, but never saw it. I did see some of those classic cartoons with Mickey and his friends though, which was of course, years ago. I saw one of those shorts on Disney+ too.

@TheJGG People do that? The furthest I got with a comment was two months, but a year? years? What are peoples problem LOL.

@Zuljaras No, gifs totally work in posts. I just tried to post your animated gif with your picture's link, and it doesn't work. Maybe it's an issue with your host?

EDIT Yeah, it must be your host, I guess? I saved your pic to my postimages dot org account, then used that postimages link, and it works.

Here's with your pic link

@WoomyNNYes thank you for that! I will test it some more and change the host if needed
But I learned how to just snap sculptures into existence. Much easier that way

@BruceCM actually that is the whole footage of how I sculpted the head of Mikey. I made it in 2 minutes and forgot to record it so I thought about a more "clever" way to hide that

Anyone thinking of doing anything for April Fool's this year? There's something I've been thinking about doing (which I probably won't do but would absolutely like to) in poorly drawing my pfp and using that for April Fool's and ONLY April Fool's. It sounds fun honestly.

@Sunsy Doesn't sound like a bad setup at all! Kudos on using a SSD for the OS; those run miles around normal hard drives, though the latter definitely have their uses when it comes to large-scale storage. Still think I'd prefer a tower and then RDP into it remotely if I absolutely needed something using my existing laptop.

It might have been an Apple II machine. I can't for the life of me recall what games I played on it, other than they were educationally based. Edutainment games are a mixed bag, but there were some decent ones I enjoyed on MS-DOS back in the day. My school had mostly Windows machines. I liked the Carmen Sandiego games, Gizmos & Gadgets, the various Oregon Trail games, and some of the earlier SIM games like SIM Ant, SIM Farm, and SIM Town (basically a more kid friendly version of City). I've been able to revisit a few of these games on Internet Archive.

@MarioLover92 No worries; RL takes precedence in my book. Hence why I sometimes go a day or three without posting.

The changing forms with a leaf thing seems to apply to several creatures in Japanese mythology, though I believe tanukis are one of the most common users of them. I mostly play at night these days as well barring some Saturday morning gaming (and rarely Sunday; normally those mornings are somewhat booked for family and/or religious reasons). Usually Saturday morning/early Saturday afternoon is when I get in about half of my weekend gaming...depending on what I have going on. I might try a regional race or two in MK8D every now and again when I'm up for it and renew my NSO sub next month.

Started Elena of Avalor tonight on Disney+. Been wanting to see this series ever since watching Elena and the Secret of Avalor on DVD, and its sister series, Sofia the First. It does sadden me the latter two are not on Disney+ since Elena and the Secret of Avalor is one of my favorite TV movies, and Sofia is basically trapped on Netflix.

@MarioLover92 Cool, it was a great movie. Also, Luca was fun, hope you get to see it. Mom had fun watching Luca when I got the Blu-Ray/DVD of it because her side of the family is Italian.

Yeah, I learned about the Annie Awards when I found out Jimmy Neutron got nominated, I didn't know they had an award show for animation at the time. Mom and I enjoyed Jungle Cruise. That's because Mickey Mouse Club (not to be confused with the Disney Junior series Mickey Mouse Clubhouse) was in the 50's, when my mom was a kid. She got nostalgia out of it and teared up. I watched Mickey Birthday Party, I haven't seen that short since a Mickey tape as a little kid. I'm really surprise by the back catalog on Disney+.

@Tyranexx Yeah, I'd figure use the bigger HDD for games and storage, and keep Windows and system apps (FireFox, iTunes, etc) on the SSD. I can always replace or upgrade the HDD no problem.

I'm guessing Apple II because it had 8-bit graphics from what I remembered, I think I played Word Munchers at school once on it. It looked like an old arcade game from the early 80's on it, while the Mac version had the Muncher in 16-bit styled graphics. Carmen Sandiego, that was another good game I had on the Mac. Cool, the only Sim games I had were SimCity and SimCity 2000. After the family got the Windows PC, we got a game called SimCopter, and when I found out we could fly in those cities and do missions, I booted up the old Mac to make cities on it, then import them on the Windows PC via floppy.

I'm a starburst candy lover, I love those things, even when they would stick to your teeth so.

But then, I had a hi-chew......I....I'm no longer a starburst fan.....To me, hi-chews are better in every single way, from flavor to texture, its just, MMM.

Yep, I just posted this useless information here, have a great day!
