@Sunsy Apologies for the late reply. Those are some cool plushes. I have quite a few Mario plushes myself as well, including the same Peach and Daisy ones you have. Agreed with you on the Peach Lego set! I found myself playing as Peach quite a bit in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, too.
That's cool. Actually I think I played a little bit of the first game on Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection, and I'm sure they made a Switch version of it. I wanna try to get that at some point.
As for Mario Party, ah ok. You should get Superstars if you like the old-school Mario Party games. It's pretty much a "best of..." kind of game, with some boards from the N64 entries, and many minigames from throughout all the previous console games.
@Tyranexx Oh that's cool. I've also had that mentality, but with all the Mario platformers instead. Like, every time I play Super Mario Bros. 3, for example, I would finish every single level the game offers. For MH, I'm currently best at using the dual blades and the sword/shield. Most other weapons, such as the charge blade, I'm not too good at using. lol

Thanks to a sale, I got a Wii U game that was stuck on my wishlist for years, Grand Prix Rock N Racing. I like top down racers. Losing a lot, coming in 9th and 10th, but upgrading the car is starting to help (reached third place). Also, win or lose, it unlocks the track, so I can go into Time Trial and just enjoy the driving. I like it, not bad for the $2 on sale.
All that's left is getting F-Zero GP Legend, and my most wanted Wii U eShop games will be bought. Anything else, I'll pick up when I can.
@Tyranexx Not only that, I had to adjust the time on my Wii U, 3DS, and DSi. I didn't realize I needed to change the time until I went to play something thing, lol.
@MarioLover92 Thanks. Very cool, especially since the Peach and Daisy ones were adorable. Posted some since I saw some posting some plushies. Awesome to hear you're playing as Peach too.
Yeah, the Sega Ages line, the first Phantasy Star is the one with those 3D dungeons. It's one I need to get too, the GBA cart is the only way I have to play it, I have II and III on a couple of Genesis collections. I didn't realize, the Sega Genesis Classics cart on Switch has Phantasy Star IV. Who knew, I had it all along.
Will make note of it then. Most of the time I play Super Mario Party, I go right for mini-game mode.

Apologies for the late replies, but I'm having a rough week IRL. Quite a lot going on both with work and personal matters, and on top of it all I'm experiencing my first bout of (hopefully short-term) insomnia. I've tried adjusting my routine and sleep schedule accordingly, but nothing (including the time change) has really helped so far. Nor am I entirely sure what set this all off. I can fall asleep fine, it's staying asleep in the early morning hours (3 AM onward) I'm having issues with. Trying out lifestyle and environmental stuff first, but if this keeps up I'll likely head to ye olde doctor.
On the VA conversation a couple of pages back: The award for "Worst Voice Acting" in a game that I've actually played would go to Typing of the Dead. It was still fun, but the VA work was hilariously bad. Worst VA work I've heard in a game I haven't played goes to Chaos Wars.
@BruceCM Most Shrines are short and to the point, but I did genuinely get stuck on a couple. The only ones I actively disliked were the Tests of Strength.
@MarioLover92 I'll unlock most levels in Mario games and have actually 100%ed a couple of them, but I usually don't do so lol. The Dual Blades in MH are fun and speedier to use; they're my second favorite after the Switch Axe. I took to the latter due to the versatility, though I do admit it's one of the slower weapons lol.
@Sunsy Yep, older Nintendo systems with a clock function unfortunately need to be manually set. I usually don't bother unless it's one I've been playing on a lot recently, and only if the time difference annoys me often enough lol.
@TheJGG No apologies necessary; I've been hit by the life train lately as well, which includes work, mild health issues (nothing too concerning), and personal matters. I can definitely relate. I find open topic papers to be quite engaging since they offer the opportunity to delve into one's interests. I'm very curious indeed to see some of your subject matter when you're finished, but no rush; good papers take time!
I do agree that it's easier to ignore the faults in what's otherwise a good game if the experience is fresh. I admit that nostalgia can play a similar role; for example, I loved the earlier Pokemon titles, but later series entries definitely have made the series more accessible (I'd argue they went too far in that direction recently, but that could easily be remedied with difficulty modes and making certain things optional). I can't comment on Death Stranding - maybe someday - but XC2 is indeed quite vague at times when it comes to the battle system and some of the other "extra" mechanics. For one thing, I'm still not sure I completely understand how to build affinity with towns/Titan provinces using the deed system.
I would've liked to receive KOS-MOS as I really like her design, but ultimately I didn't think grinding for her and a couple of other Blades I wanted would be worth it. I've never been particularly fond of gacha mechanics in games (Never used loot boxes for this reason), but as long as there's a decent chance all around I'm fine with it. I did collect all the figurines in The Minish Cap, after all! I think that XC2's story was quite solid overall, but mechanically I'd definitely rank it under the other two entries. We'll see when I jump into Torna; I'm debating about playing it when hype for XC3 starts building. As much as I want XC3 day one (especially if there's a special edition), I'm unsure if it would be wise to actually start playing it at that time of year; I highly doubt I'd finish the game before Haunt Season. That takes up a lot of my spare time during the fall.
About your Final Fantasy XV impressions: That's one of the reasons why I like revisiting - though it's admittedly rare lately - some gaming favorites: the world building. So many details that one might've missed before that help add some life to the world presented to us on the screen. The phrase "it's always the little things" is quite fitting here IMO. I've been enjoying my handheld titles! As for Octopath, I tried the demo and am...admittedly mixed on it. The music and graphics are amazing, and mechanically the combat is decent and reminds me of the Bravely series. Where the demo fell flat with me was the plot, plus the realization that it would repeat those same mechanics over an 80+ hour campaign. It's by no means a bad game, and I know many people have gotten some decent mileage out of it. However, when it comes to JRPGs, with a few exceptions, story and decent mechanics are both the major players when it comes to garnering my interest.
I'm fine with games that use death as a simple learning opportunity, so I may indeed look up Celeste. You've roughly touched on why I don't go near the Souls games; I'm sure they're fun and understand why people enjoy them, but I play games to have fun, not to sustain an aneurysm and send controllers flying lol. I'm not afraid to use easier modes if staying on a higher mode is severely hampering my enjoyment, though I'll certainly try to persevere up to a point before changing any settings.
On The Batman: I'm fine with films not rushing things as long as the pacing isn't glacial and there's a good payoff at the end. Which, in short, I believe the film pulled off beautifully. I'm still old-school when it comes to new movie viewing and don't mind going to the cinema if it's something I really want to see. This has absolutely nothing to do with me avoiding TV streaming services for whatever reason, nope. Though that approach is keeping me from viewing some exclusives I'd like to watch, like Turning Red on Disney+.
Been finding myself playing Mario Kart online a lot...I can't stop playing it! Which makes perfect sense because the first wave of DLC will be out in a couple days. I even went ahead and did all the 150cc time trials. Also playing more of Monster Hunter Rise while the trial's still active. I'm liking the game more and more now, thankfully, and I'm getting better at it too.
@Sunsy One of the plushes I have is of Tanooki Mario, I've had him as a present from graduating from high school. I'd like to post a pic of that when I get a chance, if I can overcome my Mario Kart binge fest. lol
Oh you've got it on the GBA, huh? I think I heard of that version from a YouTube video or something. I have PSIV on the Genesis Mini. Just haven't played much of it yet.
Oh that's cool, I normally go for party mode every time I play Mario Party, with friends and family. In MPS, I found myself playing the puzzle minigames on a couple occasions. those are pretty fun.
@Tyranexx Dang, that does sound rough, I know that feeling. I hope it gets better real soon for you.
That's funny you mentioned the voice acting thing. One of the games that really comes to mind is Mega Man 8. It's a decent game imo, except for that one level, but my goodness, is the voice acting laughable. There's Dr. Light who talks like Elmer Fudd and says "Doctah Wahwee," but the one that sticks out like a sore thumb to me, is the voice for Mega Man himself. I'm not kidding you, he sounds like a little girl in this game...what were they thinking???
Ah ok, so you'd generally just aim for finishing Mario games, not necessarily to fully complete them. I actually did a casual playthrough for the first New Super Mario Bros. when I felt like playing it on a whim, lol. I ended up taking the warps, too. I actually started using the switch axe in MHR. I think I'm getting more used to the slower weapons now, I wanna try to invest more time into the game the next couple days while my trial's active.

Yeah, I liked the puzzles enough for the ones I did, @Tyranexx .... But I heard about some of the ones that were probably your tests of strength & since I'd done plenty of them, I didn't go looking for the ones I hadn't come across
I didn't have an aneurysm or throw my controller around when I was playing Elden Ring! That's definitely a much more accessible game than Dark Souls Remastered, if you did want to try it
@Tyranexx I still use my Wii U and 3DS regularly, so yeah I change it back. I haven't changed it on my Wii. My Wii remote is synced to the Wii U instead.
@MarioLover92 You and me both, been playing it more in anticipation of the new courses. Also played a bit of Mario Kart 8 on Wii U when my Switch controller needed charging.
That sounds like a cool plush. Now I'm reminded, I have Isabelle too. She literally has a bell that rings too.
Yeah, when Sega and THQ were working together to release GBA games, they made a game called Phantasy Star Collection, which had the first three games. It didn't have IV, but still a nice collection of three games.
That sounds like a nice time.
@Zuljaras Looks good so far. I'm sitting here wondering which turtle will it be.

@Sunsy Thank you and it will be Leo as he was always my favorite
@Eel Thank you and I hope he will not be disappointed! I just need to add some more details like the small green scales here and there but the painting will be the one thing that will bring him to life
@Sunsy Absolutely, I'm super excited to play the DLC tracks. They made an update that shows all the new cups, but we can't play the wave 1 content right now. It says you have to get the booster course pass or the NSO expansion pack, even though I have the ownership key downloaded. I'm assuming that they'll make another update that actually has the tracks.
Oh your Isabelle plush sounds cute! Ah I see, guess they didn't have enough space to put IV in. Yeah, Mario Party is definitely at its best when you're playing with friends/family.

They finally added that thing to iOS and MacOS where you can just move your mouse cursor between your computer and your ipad and use the same mouse and keyboard for both and it’s so…. Fancy.
Doubt I’ll get much use out of it, but at least this post was written using my MacBook’s keyboard on my iPad.
@MarioLover92 Thanks. Still not sleeping the best, but it's at least been less broken up the last couple of evenings. I've been trying to compensate by still sticking with my exercise routine and trying to fit in sunlight exposure when I can. Didn't know Mega Man 8 has voice acting, though I've only played a couple of titles from the original series. "Doctah Wahwee", huh? Not sure I could've kept a straight face after coming across that one! I'll have to look up some of the dialogue on YT.
On completing Mario games: I typically stick with them for at least a little while after the credits roll since I do enjoy them. But it's rare that I fully unlock or complete everything. Off the top of my head, I think the only titles I've 100%ed are New Super Mario Bros. and Super Mario 3D Land. Both of which I played back when I had more spare time lol.
@BruceCM Lol I hated the first Test of Strength I came across...because it was one of the most difficult! I thought all of them were that hard but discovered otherwise as I played. While I'm intrigued by all the Elden Ring hype, I don't have a reliable means to play that one right now. I'd at least try it for a bit.
@Sunsy I've mostly been using my DS Lite lately - trying to wrap up Partners In Time - and have no need to change the system time; turns out I left it on DST and didn't notice. XD I'll likely change it on my N3DS XL since I do plan on picking it up again soon.
@Zuljaras You're welcome. Cool, Ralph was my childhood favorite.
@MarioLover92 Me too, though I may have to wait a bit because birthday is around the corner.
She is, the bells are like jingle bells from a Christmas toy or something. When I find her, I'll share a pic of her. She's too cute. I also have Isabelle's amiibo because I bought amiibo festival when Toys R Us was closing for like $6.
Yeah, IIRC, Sega Smash Pack also had three games, so I'm guessing it was a GBA cart limit. Indeed it is.
@Tyranexx Cool, I needed to change my time mostly because I started playing Pokemon X. Those games use a clock function obviously.
