@MarioLover92 Yeah, the only one I have on Switch is Let's Go, my nephew has Sword and Shield's entry. I may consider one of the Diamond and Pearl remakes, haven't played those entries. Nope, rented F-Zero as a kid for Super NES, I also remember renting the GameCube one.

It's ok, like I said I lived more in-land and the shelter for coastal residents was five minutes from where I lived at the time, so we were fine aside from no power. Never dealt with a flood, awesome you had your 3DS and they had consoles. Handheld gaming getting us through them tough times!

Yeah, I wanted to watch a Disney movie, and chose that.

@Tyranexx Indeed, one of the smaller Trolls sets I keep on my dresser on display. I remember watching a video about the Serious Sam 3 one, lol. I've played a few entries to that series, so seeing a monster chase after the player constantly is pretty funny. I also remember the fake ones, those were entertaining.

@Sunsy That'd be good to get the D/P remakes then. I'm not sure I still have my old Diamond copy, but I could look. I may get the remake if it's lost. Ohhhh, I remember now. Totally forgot about that, I tend to forget things easily, lol. That's cool you rented F-Zero GX, been meaning to revisit it. I loved playing it when I was younger. It gets really hard, but man I love the thrill of going fast. lol

Yes, true dat. They were super kind to us and everything, so it worked out nicely. Lucky you, then - floods are real dangerous for sure! Still want to see Encanto, as well.

Shifting gears a bit, are you gonna get Kirby and the Forgotten Land sometime? I'm thinking of preordering it myself sometime soon.

@Sunsy Despite having legitimate issues, I would highly recommend BDSP. They're actually really difficult if you rotate your team around so you're not overleveled and they have some of the best late/post game stuff in any Pokemon game imo. Also, shiny hunting is incredibly fun, at least to me, with Pokeradar. I've already gotten 2 (well, technically 6 but 2 different lines) so I would highly recommend it if you have a favourite Pokemon that you want shiny (provided you can get them in grass of course).

Today was my first day back at work after my trip, and it was NUTS. Some of it was just playing catch-up, but I had a lot of irons in the fire too. Is it Friday afternoon yet? X.X

@BruceCM I'm still enjoying it, but I'm starting to get that "I wanna move in" feeling. Good thing I'm almost finished with the main story (I think). Gonna need a short palate cleanser after this one.

@MarioLover92 The Strip is long and full of people! Depending on where you are anyway. What Nintendo nut wouldn't hit up the NYC Nintendo Store? XD I do wish they had more locations scattered around the world though. Sounds like you found some pretty good food too; for better and for worse, I like trying new things. While I like the convenience of public transportation, unfortunately that can come with a LOT of people, which I'm not a fan of.

The GBA SP functioned last I checked, but... it's been at least a few months if not over a year already. As for the OG DS, the fall damaged the connection the upper part of the unit had with the rest, and over time the display became worse,; I'd have to adjust it to sit just right so that it wouldn't have a washed out ghosted look. Eventually it started turning completely white at random times.

That high school trip was fun, but I find it hard to sleep on public transportation....I think I blacked out during a short IMAX film that first day. I was to tired that next evening that I ironically had a ton of trouble sleeping. My jet lag is wearing off, thanks.

@Sunsy I love anti-piracy measures that troll the player. XD Some of the fakes are excellent too, at least the ones that don't creep into creepypasta territory. Those just feel cheap IMO.

@MarioLover92 Yeah, I played the Blue/Yellow, Gold, Ruby/Emerald, but not the original DS entries. I still remember renting it and how fast and smooth the game was. F-Zero GX was also made by both Sega and Nintendo IIRC.

Very good to to hear. I still need to see Encanto, I don't even know if it's out on DVD/Blu-Ray yet. I was waiting as digital was $20 to own, and I'd figure for a few bucks more, just get the DVD/Blu-Ray/Digital pack.

I might wait on the next Kirby, I'm thinking about it. I really want to try and get Super Mario Advance 4 on Wii U and Sonic 1 Game Gear on 3DS, and a couple of other games before the eShop stops accepting eShop cards. Switch is going to be around, Wii U and 3DS eShops won't be.

@Fizza Didn't know that rotating thing. I always put the lower level Pokemon out first, then switch to a stronger one to level to get it up enough to fight on its own. Been doing it since Blue. Nice to hear good things about the game. It may be awhile before I decide to play it, I recently started playing Pokemon X.

@Tyranexx I can't blame the creepiness of some. One time, I got an anti-piracy screen on an authentic copy of Super Mario All-Stars, really scary seeing that message show up. The fix was cleaning the cartridge, it can happen on some authentic carts if it's dirty or not inserted correctly. Some of the creepiness of the fake ones are over the top though.

I don't like being a downer but I just don't sympathise with FromSoftware fans in terms of championing Elden Ring as the greatest game ever made. It strikes me as remarkably evolutionary, even in the tiny sphere of Soulsborne games, but in the wider range of gaming... it strikes me as a relatively safe game in terms of, design, combat and visuals. Apart from being the most complete Soulsborne game yet, what's the... killer item?

I'm not trying to insult fans of the games at all; simply trying to understand. Playing Demon's Souls kinda led me to the same conclusion. I've accepted though, that I'm simply an atrocious game player. Or of games like that.

I found out today that in the DSiWare version of Wario Ware Touched, the secret Mona Pizza music video is not only unobtainable: it's entirely absent from the code.

And that's... Smart? I mean, the video, while nice, was only ever meant to be accessed with a feature the 3DS is physically incapable of using, and it being a DSiWare title, it has strict size limitations. So removing it completely probably helped it meet that restriction.

@Sunsy That's kinda nuts, though I have heard the rare stories about false positives. I can definitely see how older software/hardware can be fooled.

Well, they can't exactly have played the game for that long yet, @TheJGG .... Steam version doesn't unlock for most of the day here! Demon Souls was a 'remake', so you wouldn't expect that to do anything new, though. I've only played Dark Souls Remastered, so I don't think I qualify as a fan of the series
Once I've played some Elden Ring, I can report back on my experience with that, though

My heart goes out to anyone affected by Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Pretty shocking to witness this unfolding before me, democracy being threatened by one of the most powerful countries in the world. I know someone with a wife and child in the country; that person was visibly distressed, naturally. Reach out to people, check in. We could be living through history.

@Tyranexx Appreciate your honesty; I've taken it to heart. Always trying to improve my covers; this is very helpful. I tried to blend the styles of the original and DE versions when making it. I heard a guitar in the DE version, and more synths in the original. I wanted to lean into the synths, and have background ambiance that gave the impression of... being gigantic. The area was so huge, and the massive echo that the song has at the start was something I wanted to carry through.

I'm no stranger to Mechonis covers though, I did Central Factory a while ago. At some point I'll try and do Agniratha. That song's pretty amazing.

@BruceCM Yeah I agree. Demon's Souls' elementary design in comparison means it's flattering with a new coat of paint. Either way enjoy the game when it comes out.

Only thing I have is that I really don't want that game to beat Breath of the Wild in terms of aggregate score. It's not the world beater BotW was.

With the possibility of cyberwar, if phones could be targeted, does anyone think it's a good idea to write down important phone numbers? Dumb idea? I wrote down close family & friend's numbers. Kinda seems like a prudent thing to do?
@BruceCM @TheJGG @Snatcher

edit: Logic being, I imagine I'm not alone with this, but I have very few phone numbers and email addresses memorized. If something happened to the phone, in an emergency, that could be bad.

As long as you look after them, @WoomyNNYes .... Yeah, effectively tomorrow, @TheJGG! I don't think most people can have really played enough to be providing 'proper' feedback on it yet It's only the biggest fans that'll have played it overnight if possible & so on, so it's when most get around to it that you'll see more commentary from others, as well

@Tyranexx Sorry for the late reply but glad to see your progress!

That amalthus fight was really tough for me when I first played it as well! It's a long and tough battle lol. I didn't know this at the time, but I was watching a Xenoblade 2 speedrun a while back, and apparently, it's actually possible to push him into the hole that he comes out of....it's REALLY funny lol😂. If you want to see it for yourself fast forward to 3:43:25 in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nr-AXLcijJI&t=13463s&...

Also yeah the whole deal with Klaus is so mindblowing! I want to talk more about it but I'll wait till you officially finish the game 😂. Looking forward to your thoughts afterward!

@Tyranexx Oh I agree for sure, they should have more locations than just NYC. I think Tokyo has a Nintendo store of their own as well...but that's kind of it. I sure did! That's actually good, sure you may get dishes that don't exactly sit well with your taste buds, but there may be other dishes that will. Not to mention your taste buds may change later on, too. Ah yeah, you bring up a great point right there. Me and my mom hopped into a bus for our last NYC trip, and there were quite a few passengers.

Ah, that sounds messed up. Did that happen to both screens or just one of them? Either way, I can tell that's unfun to deal with.

Glad to hear your high school trip was fun at least. Yeah, I think I feel the same way too, I couldn't really sleep during my plane trips when I was returning home. The same day where I had to get up at 4 AM. Mainly because I didn't want to oversleep when I get to my destination. Good to hear you're recovering from your jet lag.

@Sunsy Yes you're pretty much right, it was developed by Amusement Vision - the same guys who made the Super Monkey Ball series. That's actually smart thinking, getting the blu-ray/DVD/digital bundle. Just curious, don't you have to stream digital movies/shows with an internet connection? Unless there's a way to download the whole thing on your computer and stream it from there.

Yes, you should definitely get Super Mario Advance 4! I got it for the e-Reader levels alone. It's the closest thing we'll get to an original Mario platformer on the GBA...even though you can't really take the Wii U anywhere. Unless you bring the console and power cord along with the GamePad, of course. Some of those levels are actually pretty hard, so be ready for a challenge. Getting 8-bit Sonic 1 sounds good too, it's actually my favorite Master System/Game Gear Sonic game. I have the MS version on the Wii VC. I liked Chaos and Triple Trouble as well, but they felt a bit sluggish for my liking.

@Eel That's actually interesting to know, thanks for sharing with us. I have the DSiWare version of WarioWare Touched and I thought it was just the full game without anything taken out from the source code.

Man, the world is crazy somet-Well, pretty much most if not all the time anymore. I don't believe Europe has seen anything like this since WWII. My heart goes out to everyone affected by this insanity.

@TheJGG Don't take that first bit hard; Mechonis Field is one of my favorite gaming tracks, and is very hard to improve on. Still, I did enjoy the piece quite a bit. You did convey the ambience pretty well. Looking forward to that Agniratha cover! That's another good track from XC1.

@Vortexeo No problem at all; I neglected to post an update for some time, due in part to traveling out of state for a few days without my Switch; I was flying and don't trust airports with expensive electronics that are required to be displayed. Thankfully, most of the DS and 3DS families are the size of a phone or smaller, so they can (usually) stay in my luggage.

I did actually run across some comments saying you could cheese the fight with Amalthus in that way, though I didn't look too into it as I wanted to try it on my own lol. Plus, I wasn't sure how to knock the guy into the hole with my current setup. I appreciate the video!

There was a LOT to process with the Architect/Klaus cutscenes; "mindblowing" describes it well. I'm also kinda wondering if that one Guido thing I fought was what was left of Galea/Meyneth in XC2's world (because of the ID), but it could also be a red herring. My hope is to finish the game within the next few days.

@MarioLover92 Yep, I think Tokyo and NYC are the only two physical Nintendo Store locations outside of their global warehouses. The few physical items I've ordered directly came from an address in Redmond, WA where NoA's headquarters are. As for the crowd thing, I can deal with being surrounded by people as long as they aren't intruding into my personal space bubble...which admittedly has larger boundaries than many.

It only happened to the top screen; that OG DS unit was almost a glorified GBA when I traded it in. To be fair, the lower screen had seen better days; I was unaware of screen protectors at the time, plus I played a lot of touch-centric games earlier in the DS's lifespan. It likely didn't help that I got into the Guitar Hero: On Tour series, and the pick stylus in hindsight is probably what somewhat scratched up the lower screen. It still responded to touch, but certain areas of the screen weren't very accurate.
