@Sunsy
So i have another 3 questions about Sonic Heroes.
1. Will i get Game Over screen for keep falling to bottomless pit or was there any multiple lives like classic Mario style (if you run out of lives, it will be Game Over)?
2. How to brake (slow down) when i was in very high speed dash ?
3. Does time to finish one mission really matter ? What if i can finish one mission by more than 10 minutes after i keep struggling to reach the finish line ?
@Anti-Matter
1. When you lose your lives, you won't see a Game Over screen, it sends you back to the character select screen. Choosing a character returns you to the last level you played in their story. However, lives do save, so if you know tricks on how to rack them up, do it! I like to play level 1 over and over, collecting rings.
2. Simply push the joystick in the opposite direction.
3. No time limit, they stopped time limits in most 3D Sonic games AFAIK. Only few that stands out is Shadow The Hedgehog (some missions require to be done in certain time) and Sonic Adventure 2, had a mission where you had to escape a forest. For most of the part 3D Sonic has no time limits.
@Sunsy Apologies I didn't get to your reply immediately, didn't refresh the page when I finished typing my response to Anti-Matter. And I was playing Splatoon 2 as well. XD I've seen some people in my college having Zelda-themed gear, as well as Pokemon. Those were the ones I've seen the most, at least in regards to Nintendo's franchises. I've seen another person wear a Mario winter hat too.
Yeah, 3D Blast's special stages look quite impressive for the Genesis hardware. I found those quite easy though. The water in CD's special stages can be a bit tricky to avoid. I still have a soft spot for those however...I have a ton of nostalgia and memories from SNES games after all. lol
Thanks! Tetris 99 remains the only one where I didn't get first. I got really, really close on a few occasions, but those rounds didn't go my way, unfortunately. That Pac-Man VMU minigame sounds cool, always liked how the Dreamcast had those VMUs that doubled as a memory card and a miniature handheld. I think that Atari collection you mentioned was called Microsoft Arcade (they made it for Windows 3.1 and 95 back in the day), I think we had that at one point as well. Those came in floppy disks. The one I referred to was called Atari Arcade Hits, I think? It had most of the games you've mentioned, but it didn't have Battlezone. It had Super Breakout instead.
Yeah, there's far too many side-quests available, @Tyranexx & @NintendoByNature ..... Especially the way some of them turn into long chains if you want to see them through! Glad you're both enjoying the game, though
Sonic Heroes was awful when I tried it again some years ago lol
The controls just didn't feel right. I don't remember it being that bad when I was a kid, but I guess I just got used to it?
@TommyTendo Probably was ok at the time, but things have moved on since then and your used to better controls on games now. I've had a couple where I've gone back to after years and couldn't believe how badly they controlled. Sonic Adventure was pretty bad when I went back to it and the old Tomb Raider games are just horrible to control now.
@MarioLover92 It's alright. That's cool, I don't see much Zelda stuff. That reminds me, I have a Pokemon shirt too. Was actually wearing it just last week. I remember having a lot of Pokemon shirts during its heyday.
Can't blame you on that, being one of the early examples of 3D is why I like stuff like Sonic CD's special stages and stuff like Super Mario Kart and F-Zero.
Think the highest I ever got in Tetris 99 was third place. The memory card on the Dreamcast was one of my favorite things about the Dreamcast. Always used the feature for Chao, and Sega GT also had a mini-game that was a top down racer. I didn't have online on Dreamcast, but always liked how cool it was to be able to download VMU games from Sega's own services (Sega's website and the PlanetWeb Browser Dreamcast portal).
I had Microsoft Arcade for the Mac back when we had Mac. I remember it and the floppy disk too. I was thinking Atari Arcade Hits that I had when we upgraded to a Windows 98 machine. I played that, Rayman 2, and the old Sonic CD port a lot when we got that computer.

Speaking of avatar changing (thanks for the segway Snatcher), I decided to change things up as well. I doubt I've abandoned Phoenix Trite just yet but, in preparation of Legends Arceus, I decided to go with my favourite face from the protag Rei from the most recent main trailer. It is without a doubt my most hyped game for the rest of the month and, to me, it looks like everything I've wanted from a Pokemon game since SwSh's Wild Area (just please for the love of GOD let it run good. PLEASE). I have it pre-ordered at Smyths and cannot wait for January 28th (I literally have it marked down on my calendar. AAAAAAAAAH).

@Snatcher Not too sure, I found Sonic slippery when he lands in Heroes, and even Shadow in some spots. I had no problem with control in Sonic Adventure and Sonic Adventure 2. Speaking from personal experience of course.
I see that crown. Really cool. Went back to classic Trolls 1 Poppy. Just always loved this picture of Poppy jumping, it's even on my favorite shirt.
@Fizza Sounds like me in November, I switched to Poppy from Trolls Holiday In Harmony out of anticipation for that special. Always fun to change avatars when anticipating something. At one point I had Amy from Team Sonic Racing around the time the game was new as my avatar. Have fun with Legends Arceus when it comes out!

So, i was observing the performance of Crash Bandicoot games on PS2 / Gamecube / XBOX from Youtube to see which version of each Crash Bandicoot games should i pick.
From my observation, here are my version choice based on their graphic quality, fps and other advantages.
Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex
Best version = PS2
Crash Twinsanity
Best version = PS2
Crash Nitro Kart
Best version = Gamecube
Crash Tag Team Racing
Best version = Gamecube
What is your thought about Crash Bandicoot games on PS2 / Gamecube / XBOX based on your gaming experiences ?
@Sunsy Oh that's cool. I think I had one of those as a kid too, except it was a sweater. I had a Pikachu plush back then, too. The highest I ever got in Tetris 99 was 2nd place, so it was kind of crushing to get topped out at that time, lol. Those pieces drop ridiculously fast after a while.
Nice, I remember that Sonic Adventure 1 and 2 let you transfer your Chao to the VMU. Same thing with the GameCube versions, except it involved the GBA. Though, I didn't do the Chao Garden so much, I'd play it for a good while as a kid but most of the time, I'd play the main game. lol
Oh cool, didn't know they made a Mac version. I had some experience with Macintosh computers, one of my old schools had a couple of them, then I got to use a Mac for a college class much, much later on. Though, I've always been a Windows guy. Not only have I been used to its interface since Windows 95, it's better for PC games too, at least compared to Mac. Never really used Linux.
@Fizza I was thinking of getting Pokemon Legends Arceus as well. Probably not at launch, but it does look quite promising. Yeah, hopefully they'll make the game run smooth as butter! I'm pretty excited for Kirby and the Forgotten Land myself.
@Anti-Matter The only ones I played extensively were Wrath of Cortex and Nitro Kart. My memories with WoC are admittedly a bit hazy, but I remember it being pretty good, at least when I played it as a child. I definitely remember Crash Nitro Kart being mediocre at best, to be honest. There's a few good tracks in it, sure, but it felt like a step backwards from Crash Team Racing on the PS1. The game felt rather slow compared to its predecessor, and it had less tracks too.
@MarioLover92
I have ever played Wrath of Cortex and Twinsanity on PS2 long time ago when i was 20's years old (but with pirated copies during that time) but i haven't finished the games as i was being clueless at that time.
They were good games from my experience, i will try to get the original copies during this year.
I want to talk about my gaming motivation recently as i felt something changed during year 2022.
I felt my interest with Nintendo Switch was slowly decreased as my interest currently on older games i have never played before and a little bit my trivial things, i personally don't really like the retail box design of Nintendo Switch as it looks like PSP retail box but with boring red spine and generic fonts, even PSP still looks a little bit better but i personally prefer PS3 / PS4 retail box design as it has around 3:4 ratio rectangle size, almost like square shape, looks better than long rectangle size of PSP or Switch.
I want to keep following the upcoming Switch games with same energy as from year 2017 but i felt my mind has something that i want to take some break from the endless upcoming games. It was like chasing never ending train.
So when i saw some interesting upcoming games on this year, i felt happy but at the same time i got distracted by older games that stole my attention and i want to experience with them first.
Sorry if i didn't really show some enthusiast with Switch like before, I will try to support my Switch with a few games I can pick during this year. I knew I cannot buy every single games from my list but I will try to get the best games I can pick as possible.
@Anti-Matter hey anti. Maybe I misunderstood your comment. You should really play the games for the fun and enjoyment you get out from it. A retail box size or cover art should not determine the fun you get out from it. Happy gaming
We don't stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing.
Downloaded the Captain Toad trial, hoping to try it later.
@Snatcher Definitely, I usually don't have too many problems controlling 3D Sonic. I do feel he controlled quite well in Sonic Adventure when I replayed it months ago. I wanted a save file with all levels unlocked on PC.
You're welcome! Thanks, I just feel like sticking to Poppy for now.
@MarioLover92 I also had a Pikachu plush when I was younger too, I have a Poliwhirl plush as well, which I still have to this day. Wow, you got really close. When you reach 10 players, it's like the only objective is to survive, lol.
I did the GBA version of Chao more with Sonic Pinball Party and Sonic Adventure DX. Found it interesting the mini-game on the cartridge versions and the download to GBA single-pak memory version were very different.
Yeah, I remember when my dad installed it to the Mac and that was my earliest exposure to Atari classics. IIRC, Macs were the only computers my school had, it wasn't until middle school I had a chance to use a Windows machine. I used Linux at one point on my old desktop as a dual boot with Windows XP.
