There is a restriction from our government to not take a trip or having holiday during 24 December 2021 - 2 January 2022 to prevent COVID spread out. 😑
@Anti-Matter I think @MarioLover92 sums it up perfectly as Sonic's main gimmick is speed. The only slower Sonic game that comes to mind is Sonic Boom Rise of Lyric. The core gameplay is more like a platformer, with some speed areas, but most of it is beating up enemies, platforming, and solving light puzzles. This is mostly because the Sonic Boom stuff was a spin-off.
Team Sonic Racing controls a bit differently than Mario Kart, driving controls are done via L and R buttons, instead of A and B. Team racing is a gimmick, but I do find the game a little more challenging than Mario Kart.
IMO, Sega isn't as "edgy" as they use to be, it was a gimmick they did in the US in the 90's to help Sega look cooler than Nintendo. If you look at the US classic Sonic design vs. the Japanese one, Japan's Sonic looks a bit cuter compared to the US cooler look.
@MarioLover92 I remember the Game Boy Color link cable was interesting, it came with an adapter to link to the original black and white Game Boy systems. I used the GBA one a lot too, remember using it to play Kirby Nightmare in Dreamland mini-games, Jimmy Neutron vs. Jimmy Negatron (had a cool multiplayer mini-game inspired by Asteroids), various Sonic games, and Zelda Four Swords with friends and classmates.
In my Switch right now, it's Puyo Puyo Tetris 2. Have it in there for a few casual rounds of Puyo Puyo.
I first saw Is The Order A Rabbit on Crunchyroll. That's one of the movies I want to see, I don't know which streaming service has it, but I may consider getting a DVD of it to watch it.
You're welcome, and I see. If you can get Peach with a mug working, definitely try it. I do drawing as a hobby, but mostly just draw my favorite characters occasionally.
That what has me curious since both Forces and Generations are boost based, and I'm thinking an open world wouldn't work that way, unless you have boost and save it for certain speed sections. Weirdly enough, Sonic Boom's Excavation Site comes to mind. That hub had a lot to explore in an open world fashion, then there was that one section where it felt like a speed section that's more linear, and the gameplay changed. I'd like to see gameplay of Frontier to see how it works, it has me curious if some areas are dedicated to speeding through, and others have exploration while being fast.
The resident Trolls superfan! Saw Trolls Band Together via early access and absolutely loved it!
@Atomic77 For Christmas, I'm going to my brother's. It's always super fun. The nieces are going to freak, because they are getting a white OLED switch (it's sitting in my closet, currently). They don't have a Switch, and they always play my switch when we visit eachother. They always ask to play Mario Odyssey, mario kart, Splatoon.
My brother has an xbox, and he's been waiting for me to visit so we can play Forza Horizon 5. We love taking turns with the races, seeing who can place better or get the best times.
What about you, for Christmas?
@Anti-Matter Sorry to hear about covid restrictions. Cases are going up here in the US too. Hospitals filling up, and so on.
@Anti-Matter Yeah, it's pretty much a brand new gameplay mechanic, as far as I'm aware. Ah yeah I do recall you talking about that game a few times, I never played it though.
@Tyranexx I could do one idea, then the other next month. It'll still be wintertime by then so I could do Mario's present this month, then Peach's hot chocolate on the next. I'm thinking the present drawing would be easier, since Mario is a bit easier to draw than Peach, I think. Though...I've been incredibly busy this month, so I haven't even started drawing yet.
Yeah, some parts on human subjects are quite tricky. Hands are hard for sure, and I can have a bit of trouble with noses. I have done portrait-style drawings, which does make things easier since I can really zero in on the facial features. That's cool you got that idea from your dream, that'd be cool to see once you make that a reality. I have been coming up with ideas for a game I want to make in the future too, I wrote them down somewhere. I do want to learn how to design games.
@Sunsy Oh that's cool, didn't know that. I know there was a universal game link cable that links GBAs to the older Game Boy systems. I mostly draw my favorite characters too. I do have a sketchbook so I can practice with that before I make the final piece.
Yeah, there's quite a few possibilities on how Frontiers would play. I could see them putting in those boost sections throughout the game. Yeah, perhaps it'll be part boost, part exploration? Since one half of Generations is Classic Sonic levels, the other half being Modern Sonic levels where you'd boost through everything.
@Atomic77 I did quite a bit of Christmas shopping and decorating, for one thing. Got my brother a Switch game too.
"Give yourself the gift of being joyfully you."
Favorite game: Super Mario 3D World
AKA MarioVillager92. Ask if you want to be Switch friends with me, but I want to get to know you first. Thanks! ❤️
MAX MAX MAX SUPER MAX MAX!!! Jokes aside that F1 title fight was so depressing last night, so it's been such a difficult day in that I can't focus on anything else due to what an absolute joke the final lap was. It was so poorly managed and it was so obvious the FIA wanted a lap of racing. And the rest is history, Lewis had no hope in heaven of keeping his 43-lap old hard tyre-shod Mercedes ahead of Verstappen on fresh softs. Cinematic for sure and Netflix are on the verge of bursting with all that drama but good God it was awful as a fan.
Congratulations to Max Verstappen though, he was almost flawless this year. His driving was just so clinical that it was a matter of time. He's also not a sociopath for now; those victory cries left me shaking!
@Tyranexx Unlucky you didn't catch most of it but to be honest if I had less patience I'd only watch the last hour of the show. I'm glad I saw all the stuff live though, meaning I could share the hype with some of the cool guys from the NL community, such was @WoomyNNYes, a legend. The Sonic 2 trailer was so good. The movie looks amazing, and the character designs look as good if not better than the first. Tails' voice (already by Colleen Villard) is awesome. I loved his voice already and it is as good now. And Knuckles? Idris Elba should be thrown in prison for lying about how he was trying to tone down his sexiness. If he tried, he must have awful self control.
Hellblade was fantastic too but I won't be able to get it unfortunately, I don't have an Xbox. Whether the original Senua's Sacrifice game runs well on Switch or not will determine if I get it there or not. Psychosis is something it apparently nailed. As for LiS? Not quite. The Remastered collection drops next year so that's when I'll dig into it. I played the first episode of the first game on Steam and thought it was amazing, even if it nearly roasted my poor old MacBook. Warmer than a human being I'll tell ya.
@WoomyNNYes That is a darn good story. I'd feel bad for the lady too but thirty bucks is not something you should look at and just turn away. Welcome to America, the land of opportunity and dreams! The eagle was the proverbial cherry on top [of a tree].
To @Vortexeo and @tekoii Take a listen to this: my preliminary cover of a Xenoblade 2 song.
Phew...!
Finally i finished the storyline of Mini Ninjas PS3 just now. 😀
Another finished PS3 game. 😁
I gave it 7 from 10 for Mini Ninjas.
Not a bad choice, the game was pretty fun to play.
I still able to replay the previous chapter to complete the Ninja scrolls, forage items, Jizo statues, money, etc after finishing the game.
Have my US *people here noticed you can guy some things from *amazon UK? Some things say Deliver to US a the See All Buying Options. I was curious about it, so I put a Switch OLED in the cart (I know UK consoles have different plugs, so I don't want to mess with that), and at checkout it accepts your US credit card and converts the currency for you. I had no idea we could do this. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Nintendo-Switch-OLED-Model-White/dp/...
@TheJGG Yo, buddy. I turned on the F1 race around lap 32. The cars weren't loud on tv (strangely). Did you notice that? And at lap 32-ish, all the cars were really spaced out. I honestly thought I was watching qualifying for bit. Now I'm curious to see the end of race. My brother will probably still have the race on his dvr, when I visit him for christmas. Often when I visit him, he's a few weeks behind on races. He squeezes in the time to watch all the races & qualifying when he can. And christmastime is also Forza Horizon time. I haven't seen Forza Horizon 5 yet. There's a chance he hasn't booted up yet, waiting for me to play it with him.
@tekoii I'm 4 tiers away from tier 69, the Cosmosis explosion, where everything goes black except for outlines.👌 Oh, yeah, that reminds me. Do you have, or ever use, the Fennec car? I've only ever seen your Octane or Venom. I have an extra fennec blueprint. I think those are tradable?
@Solaine Thank you very much! I like to keep my channel in marginally acceptable condition so I can present my "work" accordingly but it's minimal at best. For my covers I use Logic Pro, available solely on Mac devices. It does cost $200, or around €180, but it's a very worthwhile investment from my point of view. I used the 90-day trial period to remaster most of my old projects from GarageBand (which comes free with every Mac), and it worked out really well. I have around thirty songs I'd consider to be in a "really good" bracket.
@WoomyNNYes To be honest I didn't pay attention to the sound of the cars, I was already quite stressed out from the pure gravity of the race itself. It didn't end the way I wanted but I'm determined to try and move on as best I can, whether that takes a few weeks or until the next season starts in March. Nonetheless you have a very kind brother, who you'd consider to be patient enough to wait for you and all. Wishing you a very happy and safe Christmas indeed!
Went to Best Buy and got a white Switch OLED for myself today. Best Buy site showed my nearest location had stock. It was after noon, they still hadn't put them out on the floor yet. I had to ask an employee to check stock, and he went in back and grabbed on for me. Well, now I've got one. I haven't opened it. I might gift it to myself for Christmas. I don't know yet. We'll see. ...I'm tired of my launch switch battery life sucking, using 15% just to look at eshop for 10-15 minutes seems ridiculous. And the fan sounds like struggling way more these days in handheld mode.
@Sunsy I do agree with this, Sega was trying to make sonic look as cool as he could. Oh I don't think I ever asked, what is your opinion on sonic team racing? I needed to play it a little more, but I give it a solid 8/10. I will happily write down my reasoning for the score if you wish to read.
@TheJGG I think I need to check out your channel some time. Ok I will just come out and say it, I some how forgot you had one ):
@WoomyNNYes I noticed the Amazon UK ordering too. I manager to buy the French Bloodborne artbook for a fraction of the price of the English or Japanese one (and it's the only hardcover version so score). Hope you like your OLED, let us know what you think when you decide to open it.

Give me a heads-up if you're going to send a request please.
I made a snowman drawing with paper snow crystal pasted on it.
I was also taught grade 4 students how to fold and cut the paper into snow crystal pattern.
@Snatcher Are you saying this super cool person snagged a ps5 pre-order? How'd you know the preorders were live? A stock tracker, or just checking retail sites?
@Anti-Matter Speaking of snowflakes, I saw this the other day. They explain how science behind how & why different snowflake crystal paterns form. I thought it was fascinating.
Greetings from the north, O friendly @Teksetter! It has been a while, but I hope another message from this old furball is welcome.
I hope you had a restful summer and autumn, and that you and your young ones are well. Did you perhaps have a chance to display your paddling prowess? Or acquire a coffee table? Has the NL community (not to mention the comment sections) been good and respectful to you, and all? And, not least... has your backlog diminished? 😁
I have tried to keep up on the news, and even lightly monitor KateGray's progress toward becoming, as we say, une vraie canadienne. I realize that it will be, yes, a work in progress, and I have noticed signs both encouraging and not, but perhaps that is a discussion for another time. I look forward to discussing matters of gaming, life (and science?). Er, if you're game.
Have a nice day. Voiceactor: The Pirates! (Sony/Aardman 2012) - The Passion: A Brickfilm (Neema 2019) - The Torchlighters: The Story of John Newton (Vision Video 2022) - [NEW] Minno's Laugh and Grow Bible (Minno - 2024)
Started watching Power On: The Story of Xbox on YouTube last night. A really good documentary on the history of the Xbox Console done really well. If you like documentaries or just gaming history this is a must watch.
