@reporterdavid Cool, will make note to watch it one day. I do like animated moves. I haven't seen too much Aardman work, but I do know Shaun the Sheep (the old Nintendo Video on 3DS short stands out to me). Always had a distinct art style.
@MarioLover92 Yeah, I got that game a very long time ago on Game Boy, I think it was my second game after Super Mario Land. Use to play it a lot. I think I remember buying it because Yoshi looked cute on the box. Still loved playing it.
That's cool, I also have two within driving range, one that's a standalone store, and one in a mall. Last time I was in one, I was looking for Trolls Itty Bittys. They're like cute little plushies of popular characters. I haven't been in one in a while. The Trolls and Sonic ornaments were just ordered online. Yeah, having a little tree something I've been doing for years, makes a great night light too.
That's cool, I use to have a Jiminy Cricket plush, however, I still have my Pinocchio plush from my childhood. Always stood out from my other plushies as Pinoccho had round arms and legs, and actual doll hair, despite being a plushie. I don't have most of my VHS tapes anymore save for a few (example, the Sonic OVA). I have most of the classic Disney movies rebought on Blu-Ray, due to them including both the Blu-Ray and DVD versions. I consider 101 Dalmations the lucky one as I got that literally a day before it was vaulted (when the vault existed). That was also a childhood favorite.
@TheJGG Does look like a fun time, I was getting Sky Chase vibes out from the poster alone.
@tekoii Already have the stream on. A friend and I are watching and having voice chat as it has become our tradition. We're both looking forward to the Sonic movie. Even had dinner extra early just to be able to put it on on time.
I have been on and off, though via Super Mario All-Stars on SNES Online and on 3DS. May play Apex a bit more as my favorite mode Winter Express is back. It's kind of like king of the hill, except you're taking control of a festive train. First year playing it on Switch, I played the mode on PC in previous years.

Went shopping for a new winter coat today. Went to a ski shop, Marmot store, Burton store, North Face store, REI, Nordstom.... all to come home and order from Amazon. Kinda funny.
My sincerest condolences to Masayuki Uemura, the man who invented the Famicom. One of my favourite quotes from the man was when he pitched the NES Zapper to Nintendo executives, saying "Americans liked guns,". He was a driving force behind the SNES as well, and may his genius be remembered.
@TheJGG Really sad news...my condolences go to Uemura-san and his family and friends too. There's no denying that the NES left a massive impact on the gaming industry, and the SNES happens to be my favorite console - may he rest in peace.
@Sunsy Oh that's cool, some of the Game Boy games I happened to have as a kid were Super Mario Land 1 and 2, Donkey Kong '94, and Pokemon Red. Just curious, what version of the Game Boy did you have? I had the Game Boy Color, which was purple. (I think its color was called grape? I used to want the teal one.) Too bad I lost it years ago, and to this day, I still haven't found it. XD We did have the Super Game Boy for the SNES as well.
Oh gotcha. Some of my childhood movies are still in the attic. Those VHS tapes are rather fragile too, from my experience. I had a few instances of the tape being caught up in the VCR, and that's never fun. Loved 101 Dalmatians too, that was also a childhood favorite of mine. That was probably the first movie I ever saw, if memory serves me correctly. That Pinocchio plush you had sounds cute as well. Shifting gears from Disney just a notch, I did like Sonic OVA as a kid too, I also had that on VHS, and before that we rented it from Netflix back when they mailed DVDs. I don't recall what happened to my tape.
Speaking of festive trains, I made this Christmas-themed drawing last year, which has Toad in it. I pretty much made this drawing to be as cute as Toad himself. Also @Tyranexx - thought you'd like to see my drawing as well!

@MarioLover92 I've played all of those, well I had Pokemon Blue version, but it is the same game for most of the part. IIRC, I had Super Mario Land and Yoshi when I started with my Game Boy, albeit I got them months apart. I had the basic grape one, I got it around the time I got Pokemon Blue, as well as Frogger, which was my first GBC game.
Tell me about it, I ended up destroying the Pinocchio VHS and needing another one because I watched it so much. Kids have it lucky these days, I pop in Trolls World Tour, and the DVD plays and loops over and over, lol.
The Sonic OVA is great, I originally saw it on Starz, and when I found out a mall had the VHS tape, I bought it. Possibly the first anime home video I ever bought. I do find it interesting ADV Films, the company that dubs it, are some of the people who work at Sentai Filmworks (same executive producer IIRC) now, since I have some anime DVDs from them, my favorite being Is The Order A Rabbit (or GochiUsa as some fans call it). A really cute anime about a girl who works in a coffee shop.
Your drawing looks great!

@Sunsy Ah okay, I ended up getting the red version just because it was (and still is) my favorite color, lol. Pokemon was one of the newest high-profile Nintendo games at the time, and I saw many other kids playing it during my elementary school days, so I went ahead and got it. I did have some trouble getting into it at first though, mostly because it was the first RPG I ever played.
Ah, sorry to hear. Yeah, DVDs and blu-rays are generally a bit more durable, though they can get scratched on the bottom and they would stop working. I do take very good care of them, I always put discs back in their own cases every time I'm done with them. At least they don't clog up the inside of our consoles/DVD players with a whole bunch of tape. lol
Yeah, I always thought the Sonic OVA was a fun watch. I wonder if Sonic CD's animated cutscenes were a source of inspiration for it? Since it does look very similar, and Metal Sonic is in it (though oddly enough, he's called "Hyper Metal Sonic" in the OVA). I like the OVA's soundtrack too. Never saw Is The Order A Rabbit, but it does sound like a nice watch.
Thank you! I'm happy with how my drawing turned out. I want to get to do at least one drawing this year too. Maybe I'd have Mario holding a present that Toad gave him (delivered straight from his magical holiday train!), or Princess Peach relaxing and having hot chocolate. Or both, if I have the time. Just a couple ideas I have. What do you think?
Oh yeah, since you're the Sonic guy, what are your thoughts on Sonic Frontiers up to now? I think it looks quite interesting, I'm starting to think that Sega/Sonic Team's making an open-world Sonic game this time around, and I'm wondering about how they'd make it. Would've liked to see gameplay footage of it though.

My PS2 Fat USA version got fixed this afternoon and it can play my PS2 USA games smoothly without making scratching sounds.
Woohoo...!
But i also have to put my Nintendo Switch machine in hiatus for 1 week before i will bring it to game repair shop again next Saturday. My Switch made very noisy fan sound recently and it should get new thermal paste.
Good news, looks like i will able to get OG XBOX machine in next 2 weeks after i got my salary.
Have a nice day. Voiceactor: The Pirates! (Sony/Aardman 2012) - The Passion: A Brickfilm (Neema 2019) - The Torchlighters: The Story of John Newton (Vision Video 2022) - [NEW] Minno's Laugh and Grow Bible (Minno - 2024)
@reporterdavid thats cool that you worked on Pirates! I love that movie and I highly recommend it to those who like stop motion animation and/or witty idiosyncratic writing.

@Losermagnet Woke up at 5am head & neck achey, arm is sore where the shot was taken. Took an 8hr tylenol. I'm doing better than I did after my second shot, though, since I still feel functional. Boy, that second shot wiped me out for at least two days - that one made me feel exhausted & wiped out, head & neck aches like a cold.
@Losermagnet it's great. Think Christmas Story and Ralphie wanted a red rider bb gun, but this kid Jake, from chicago( but based in batavia, IL which is 15 min from my house), wanted an NES for Xmas in the 80s. It's such an awesome callback to Midwest living. Even though I was more of a 90s kid (born in 87), it feels like my childhood was just like his.
@WoomyNNYes glad to hear it hasn't been as bad as your 2nd. Hope you feel better as the day goes on and that your sore arm doesnt effect your gaming lol 😜 i've still got to get my booster actually, i've been slacking.
