@WoomyNNYes Ah, sorry to hear about that. Still strange, though. You should not have any issues with Firefox, as I've already found out, so it must be some add-on/extension or any of the other programs running on your PC. The annoying part of it, in my opinion, is that on PC, it can sometimes take AGES to tweak it to perfection and/or to find a solution to any particular problem, especially if you've already ruled out all the usual suspects.
Oh, well, if all else fails, you could still watch the videos on Nintendo's site on a phone or tablet.
@Sunsy Yeah, I sorely need to get back to playing Breath of the Wild myself as well. Been far too long, and now with my new TV, it should look better than ever, so perhaps I'll dive in again come this weekend. I do need to promise myself in that case that I do not get lost in wandering around doing random stuff for hours on end AGAIN, otherwise I might as well give up altogether...
@ogo79 That still doesn't explain much. I said I was looking forward to seeing the collection that you've displayed on the shelf, and the reaction was "good things come in small packages". Unless it's a REALLY small shelf, which would mean it's absolutely crowded with skeleton figurines, I have no idea what the context of that is, so I'm sorry to say that I'm still at a bit of a loss, my friend.
Oh, and give me a sign whenever you post videos of you sucking on that urinal puck. That's definitely something that the internet deserves to see. To get you in the mood, here's an appetizer:
Seeing as most of it is in Dutch, here's the translation:
(I've put it underneath spoilers, otherwise I'd already give away the punch line) "the only thing that always annoys me at festivals, is the long lines for the toilets. Right now we can go in, so I'm going to check and see how clean they are". (walks in) "According to me, this is the men's area. You'd almost think you'd be able to scoop a beer out of there. Good layer of foam". Then the clueless American walks in, does his thing, initially leaving the reporter completely dumb-founded.
Once she finds her voice again, she goes on: "Woah, woah, seriously. Can I please ask you something? Just for the record, this is a john, right? Seriously, what did we just film? I'm completely speechless, that dear man was washing his hands in a urinal."
@TheJGG Yeah, people got angry, well, people: idiots. Stupid hooligans looking for a target to point their anger and disappointment at. It's a sad thing that they then always resort to such underhanded tactics. Then again: they are low-life halfwits, so they simply don't possess the IQ to understand what they're actually doing or saying. The basest of emotions drive them. You'd wonder how simpletons like that still managed to survive, in this day and age.
Maybe we ought to drop them all on an island, to see if they can fend for themselves, when push comes to shove. Make real men of 'em...
Can't say I agree with hooligans from other countries being just as bad. Sure, each country and probably each club has their own hooligans/hardcore fans, and some might also resort to certain racial slurs, but far as over here is concerned, if it happens, it's usually in competition games, not in international games. And I've also never seen or heard of Dutch fans disturbing/interrupting the national anthem of another team, which is another absolute low for the English hooligans.
As for the ridiculing: far as I could tell, at least over here, that was mostly because of the hubris and the unwarranted certainty of the fans that they would win the tournament, so the whole "football coming home" thing, while most analysts over here already predicted that it was never going to happen. Something that I myself found particularly funny, was some people even going so far as to already get a tattoo of it, which basically means that they now look like absolute fools.
But enough of that, the tournament is over, water under the bridge and all that. Moving on to the Olympics, which like Euro 2020, will be another weird and unique event, due to all the COVID rules and regulations.
And yes, I've read about Lando Norris. It also happened to several celebrities over here. They even called it "the Rolex gang", because apparently, it was an organized group, operating across the country. What happened to Norris wasn't tied to it, but because they also took his watch, I immediately got reminded of those kinds of things happening over here as well.
Some argue that people shouldn't flaunt their expensive goods/wear in public or on social media, because apparently, that is how these criminals come to find out that you own such goods, but personally, I find that victim blaming.
All of these kinds of things makes me REALLY mad. People should stay the f**** away from other people's belongings. It's too sad that they always use the element of surprise, because otherwise, we'd be able to taze the b*****ds or something. That ought to teach them a thing or two...
Sorry for the late replies, folks. Busy weekend. I was actually off work yesterday, but that was due in part to head off to a friend's small late afternoon wedding ceremony. Also took an internet break yesterday morning. The wedding was most of my afternoon and evening, so I was too tired to even internet last night. (Didn't help I stuffed full of good food too lol) Most of this week isn't gonna be much better with errands I've been putting off.
@ThanosReXXX I think it was also chosen since it was a fairly common business language, at least at the time. By chance I did run across a couple of travelers in a nearby town a few years ago who spoke the language (It's pretty common for travelers to stop there; it's near a busy freeway nexus). They'd stopped off at a Walmart for some supplies and were behind me in the checkout line. I didn't catch everything - they were talking too fast for me to mentally translate everything - but I knew enough that I recognized German. They walked out just behind me, and I heard one ask the other "Wo ist mein Auto?" Then he used the car alarm to locate his vehicle lol. I didn't let on I understood, but I just said "Found it!" The dude said "Yep, that's my [expletive] car!" I took it as a goodhearted joke. I mean, who with a car HASN'T been there? XD
@BruceCM Yep! Though I admit that with my schedule how it is these days, I won't be able to offer regular updates. Just found Sir Stuffypants and the doctor for Castaway Village.
@bimmy-lee I wouldn't mind being in a place with a decent water temp either, ocean-wise. I've swam in an area of the Pacific and more than one spot in the Atlantic. Never in the Gulf of Mexico to my recollection. The Atlantic is a LOT warmer than the Pacific, at least when comparing the coast of Florida to Southern California. I'm weird about winter; the grass dies, and I like snow, but I wish there was some scientific way for all that to happen without it getting so blooming cold. I've never been very warm-bodied, and it has been worse ever since I lost weight.
@SM3DASislit Thanks! I'm pretty much done with gathering estimates and am close to settling on a contractor. In any case, it'll have to wait until this fall. The windows still need ordered, plus I'm far from the only person needing home improvement help lol.
I watched/listened to the Nintendo Direct while at work; I missed some footage but was able to sneak a few glimpses. It's nice that Nintendo puts up the trailers and Treehouse footage later. I wouldn't say Square Enix's conference was the absolute worst, but it was definitely a poor showing. Guardians of the Galaxy was the only thing that salvaged it for me. And the lack of the Final Fantasy Pixel remasters not coming to consoles is a head-scratcher. I actually liked Capcom's presentation, though they didn't show anything new. Still plenty for me to like (Monster Hunter Stories 2, The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles), but I realize those games weren't for everyone. Didn't really watch the others, though I'm kinda sad I missed the Xbox mini-fridge announcement lol.
@ThanosReXXX - Wow! What was this man even doing abroad, he looks like he teleported there straight from the cornfields of my fine state. What baffles me is that Iβve encountered urinals like that in many, many places; so itβs amazing to think this man momentarily thought he was interacting with some kind of fancy Dutch sink technology! He literally takes a step to drag his fingers through a puddle of obviously urine. Itβs as if the only time this man ever left his home was to go to Amsterdam! Wow.
@Snatcher - Donald is a rage filled lunatic, Iβm not shocked, but someone should wash his beak out with soap. Ducks are jerks man. I know Iβm painting with a broad brush here, but itβs the truth.
@ogo79 - It seems youβre partial to see through green skeletons, and who isnβt really, but I love that clear one so much, the eyes and mouth are haunting. See through clear action figures are epic. I got my son a clear, color changing Ice Man on the card a couple years ago, and he tore that thing open and displays it on his dresser.
@Tyranexx - The NW has the perfect weather for me personally, but I guess I donβt mind the extreme version of it here in the Midwest. First time we ever went to the Pacific coast, I wore swimming trunks and thought Iβd run right into the water. It was so cold that my dog yipped when a wave rolled in up to his elbows. Itβs such a beautiful coast line, but itβs definitely not the same kind of fun in the sun like a beach on the east coast or down south.
@TheJGG My mouth is watering just thinking about that restaurant! Never been to a Brazilian restaurant, but I'd certainly try one. I'm also a fan of many types of bread (outside of some fruit breads), and garlic bread ranks pretty high up there! No vampires for you after that excellent meal, I'm sure.
Good on you and your family cleaning up that beach! Waste disgusts me; I get that humans leave waste, but apparently it kills people to put the items in actual trash cans or the appropriately labeled bins if there are any. I live by a busy road, so some of it ends up on my lawn and, for some sick reason, in my own garbage bin. Small fluffy white dog, you say? A certain kind of breed, or a lovable mix? Sometimes they're quite curious, almost to their detriment lol. I'm a huge fan of animals and, though I slightly prefer cats, I really enjoy canines too.
Mainstream music? What is this "mainstream music" you speak of? I often neglect it as well, though I'm occasionally aware of the really popular songs. Probably the most recognizable modern group I listen to at all is Imagine Dragons. They have a unique style that sets them apart from everyone else. The Xenoblade games touch on many of my musical tastes as well, and I can mostly say the same in relation to the (admittedly few) Final Fantasy tracks I've listened to. I haven't played Dragon Quest XI yet, but I enjoyed many of the tracks in IV, V, and VIII. With a few exceptions, some 80s tracks are where my tastes for modern (as in, within the last century) music begins. I haven't listened to much Van Halen, but I'm pretty fond of Bon Jovi, some of Michael Jackson's work, Pat Benatar, and some Phil Collins (I blame Disney's Tarzan for that last one lol). Rickrolls aside, Never Gonna Give You Up is a really good track. Though I'm a little more fond of Darude - Sandstorm. It usually IS the song I'm looking for. Classical music is pretty widespread as it usually isn't subject to copyright claims. I don't think the genre will die anytime soon.
Normally, I don't think NL's headlines are clickbait candidates. Compared to some other gaming sites, NL is pretty tame by comparison. I give constructive criticism when it's due and wanted, but I do prefer to pick my battles; if it'll get swallowed up by a garbage comment section, there often isn't much point in wasting my time. I typically respond if I feel a response is warranted and if I feel like I can provide more feedback on the subject. I think I've mentioned this before, but if a response of mine would amount to "Yep", then I very rarely bother.
People like using the "Nintendo has no games" argument, but I feel like they've been a little more on top of releases this year. There's something I want at least every month up until the end of the year, and then there's my backlogged pile of games to think of! The Switch, IMO, is still going very strong, so I don't get why people think Nintendo would hamstring themselves now with a beefy Switch upgrade. I also don't have a 4K television; I've considered getting one, but I don't believe now is a good time for it with other expenses looming. Plus, my 1080p television is still in excellent shape and doesn't need replaced as of this writing. Getting the OLED Switch is a hard sell for me right now. Don't get me wrong, it would be nice to have, but I don't deem it necessary. I don't always need the latest and greatest as soon as it drops.
As for Ys VIII, I'm really enjoying it so far! I'm only a few hours in, but it's already proving to be a fun experience. The ARPG combat clicks pretty easily overall, and you can remap button commands if you wish. The music is, on the whole, decent, and the narrative/writing is compelling enough (if not slightly slinging the occasional anime trope my way) that it's still holding my interest hostage. There are better games visually - the water textures are definitely weird, for one - but this in no way kills my enjoyment. There's definitely still some sights to be appreciated. I'd currently call it a slightly watered down version of XC:DE, but that's meant as a compliment since the latter sets the bar so high.
Some distinctive advantage of riding the Master Cycle Zero over ye olde horse, you say? I'm seriously tempted enough to try that bike out at the Dueling Peaks now, if it's possible...Hmm....
I do enjoy t-shirts, so going to a place full of interesting designs is probably the closest I get to "enjoying" clothes shopping. And I only have so much patience for that too lol. I'd never heard of Uni-Qlo until the chain's occasional mention on this site. Apparently there are a few branches here in the States as well, but none within reasonable driving distance. I like gaming shirts, but I certainly prefer the ones that have had some genuine thought and uniqueness poured into them.
I studied German for about three years, enough to get my feet wet with the language and to be able to stumble my way through reading and constructing some intermediate sentences on my own. The problem is, that was over a decade ago now, and...if you don't use it, you lose it. I still try to use a few words and phrases on my own and can still read some of it, admittedly a few expletives as well (blaming some of that on an exchange student lol), but I'm by no means fluent and have a heck of a time following conversations between two native speakers. (See my reply to Thanos up there) Honestly, I was surprised how well I understood a German trailer for one of the Yo-Kai Watch games a few months ago. I enjoy different accents, but I can't say I'm the best at them. I can somewhat pull off a Cockney accent, but somehow it eventually blends into more of an Australian lilt....I'd say the best I can do is American Southern, and that's only due to exposure and practice lol.
I didn't know peanut sauce was so widely used in some Asian cuisines until I learned about food allergies as a kid. I don't know what I'd do if I was allergic to peanuts! Or most nuts, really. Peanut butter is amazing on pancakes! Pancakes are such a versatile food, they can be light and fluffy or heavy, thick, and very filling. Different batters, mixed in ingredients, toppers, real maple syrup....I don't have them often, but they're a treat when I do eat them! I enjoy waffles as well, even if the texture is a bit different.
Man, first all that talk of Brazilian meat, now ice cream! I think you're just trying to make me start eating late at night again....
Currently playing: Pokemon Scarlet DLC, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury (Switch)
@bimmy-lee Outside of some of the stories I've heard about the many overcast days - I do think the weather affects my mood sometimes - I think I'd enjoy the normal climate of the Northwest too. I've always wanted to visit Washington and Oregon for the natural areas alone! Not to mention seeing those beautiful, triangle-shaped peaks that may or may not belch lava, smoke, and ash on a whim. I'd certainly try out swimming in the ocean up there too...at least long enough to say I've done it. Which might last about ten seconds. XD To be fair, those cooler currents are beneficial to the west coast as that makes it way less likely for it to be assaulted by tropical cyclones.

Thumb grips are a world changer, my bud is letting me borrow some, and you know what, thinking of getting some for myself, I mean the fps ones work great with LM3 man. But I don't play lots of fps games on the switch but I love how they feel, are they still worth getting?
@TheJGG Yeah, they do seem to be doing a good job with that, although I feel that Microsoft has been hitting it out of the park, with the BC & Next-Gen Upgrades for Series X/S, and I don't even own a Series X (or S), or even a PS5 for that matter.
That's a really good question. My guess is that CD Projekt Red went public recently. It does look like they went public, but that happened all the back in 2009/2010, so that doesn't seem to be the issue. My other guess is that they were getting a lot of pressure from shareholders to release the game by the holiday season. I don't get why it was so buggy, considering it was delayed by around 8 months, IIRC.
That's a really, really good question. With No Man's Sky, they probably have everyone on the Hello Games team working to fix No Man's Sky, probably even other people who weren't initially working on the game itself. I know that No Man's Sky was pretty bad at launch, and I don't know how long it took for it to get "fixed", but I feel like Cyberpunk 2077 is in a worst state, than No Man's Sky was at launch (please let me know if this is incorrect), so I'm not sure if Cyberpunk 2077 will recover, even if it gets into a "top-notch" state (or just a playable state even), within the next year.
That sounds like a good plan for being the CEO of Nintendo. I feel like Grezzo has become a port/game assistance company for the Switch, so maybe they'll continue that. I told my friend this after this year's February Direct, but I feel like we're starting to enter (another) new phase with Nintendo, like we did at the Switch's launch.
I say this because...
1. Mii's seem to be making a comeback. (Miitopia, and Mario Golf: Super Rush)
2. Nintendo seems to be starting, emphasis on the starting, to bring its older games to Switch, such as 3D All-Stars, Skyward Sword HD, Miitopia, etc.
3. They seem to be reviving dormant series, such as Famicom Detective Club, and Advance Wars.
I believe we are now fully in the Shuntaro Furukawa era, and the Tatsumi Kimishima era seems to be behind us if that makes sense at all. What I mean by this is that, I feel that Nintendo is doing that fans what, but may not be a huge financial success, like reviving old series.
To answer your question about the documentary: I havenβt seen it, Iβve never been a huge fan of documentaries, especially documentaries that have topics that are as controversial as that. (Which is interesting because I like to know how things work, but if itβs something like that, where it's really serious/controversial topics, I tend to stay away from them, if that makes sense).
I learned about the intricacies of the Xbox backward compatibility scheme from our own Thanos, and I find it quite nice. Tailored experiences fine tuned to each game. PS5's route is alright, though it may be bias since I've had one for six months. I've been able to upgrade a few games I got on PS4 to PS5 for free since I got it and it's been quite nice. Final Fantasy VII Remake, No Man's Sky so far, and Sony seem to like this whole "Director's Cut" thing, because Death Stranding, Ghost of Tsushima and The Witcher 3 are all getting PS5 editions which I'll be getting. If you plan to get one of the consoles which would you get?
Usually March is a good release season, same with June, July, and December. It could have been delayed to March 2021, and they could have spent all that time making hotfixes, and having them done by the time it launches. That way at least while the content issues still exist the performance ones are solves. Nintendo had no problems delaying Breath of the Wild by three years so it's safe to assume people must have looked to that as an example of a good, polished game delayed but eventually good. If a PS5 edition of Cyberpunk comes out I may play it, but I'm still waiting for patches, fixes and extra content to roll out. I'd prefer a... coherent experience.
No Man's Sky is the opposite, and is the example for studios around the world, to turn a game around. I got the game in late 2016 and it was quite boring, but after playing it in late 2020 on the PS5, it felt so much more accessible, polished, clean and detailed. I'm proud of the studio for doing such a good job and never giving up. I firmly believe that No Man's Sky wins out against Cyberpunk because it at least ran well instead of crashing. Whether Cyberpunk can redeem itself like NMS will be seen soon.
You're absolutely right. All your points are very astute, so I fully hope that Furukawa makes the shrewd choices he's hinted he's capable of. Kinda makes sense that it would take a few years for the effects of Kimishima (for better and for worse) to wash over fully. I think the Switch has a lot of time left, if I was optimistic I'd say as much as five years. It feels clear that Nintendo aren't directly trying to take on Sony and Microsoft, because they're attacking the handheld market at the same time.
@ThanosReXXX Football fans are good at one thing without question and that is cheering. You know how they say the most vocal group is the minority? Well I should have used that for this instance because (I bloody hope so anyway) I feel like the average football fan cheers when their team wins, is respectful when their team loses, and shakes the hand of the nearest opposite team fan at the end of the game regardless. I'd like to think I'd behave like that when at a live game but I'll make my way to Qatar next year and test it out. But if all people were respectful this wouldn't be a problem. And that's the most basic issue here, there's just no respect. For oneself, for the team you're cheering, for the opposition and your own fellow fans.
Dropping the fans on a desert island? We already have that, it's called Lord of the Flies. No need to waste precious human lives getting the same outcome!
I can't speak for the Dutch at all, because it's very hard to hear the finer details of cheers when watching F1. So I'll have to agree with you until I find evidence of the contrary, since your experience in this field greatly outweighs mine (although that doesn't mean much considering any number divided by zero is infinity!). It makes me angry and sad (or as Jim Parsons would say, sadmad) to see English fans doing this. There's many moments I'm a bit ashamed to be English and July 11th 2021 was one day.
I suppose the reason people got carries away with the "football coming home" thing was because people took hopeful optimism and turned it into something awful. Not just other Europeans who didn't bother trying to understand the song, but English fans as well, who also took the song out of context. But water under the bridge indeed, I'm glad to return to a normal life now where I don't need to take five Strepsils every morning. I'm quite excited for the Olympics. But seeing no fans will be very weird. While I would be a bit more for cancelling, it would reportedly cost over $40B to do so. We just need to go through it, and who knows... maybe we'll get some great sporting moments along the way!
I'd agree with both sides of the argument with Norris, and just the disambiguous term of people getting mugged. It's their fault for wearing this stuff to a public event but at the same time sponsorship is the cause for this. Next thing you know we'll get a giant Richard Mille logo plastered onto Lando's forehead in the press conference.
That reminded me of the Heineken star thing actually. In 2018 I was watching some F1 races (Austria, Canada) and saw the cars going through a giant Heineken Star. And behind the grandstands were... you guessed it, more stars. Creative but potentially invasive.

whats cool is that that clear skeletons eyes that are yellow and red, can be seen all around his clear head, its crazy! yer son tore open ice man. all transparent figures should be opened to do them the justice they deserve and let the light dance through them.
@ogo79 That still doesn't explain much. I said I was looking forward to seeing the collection that you've displayed on the shelf, and the reaction was "good things come in small packages". Unless it's a REALLY small shelf, which would mean it's absolutely crowded with skeleton figurines, I have no idea what the context of that is, so I'm sorry to say that I'm still at a bit of a loss, my friend.

thats what i like about you, yer outspoken like i can be.
dont bother translating for me because im fluent in every language in the world. maybe?
@ogo79 I agree, pineapples are for desert not as pizza topping. Might as well put a jar of mayonnaise as pizza topping if people start putting pineapples on it. Gross.
dont give these weirdos any ideas because trust me theyll do it
@ogo79 I see, perfectly reasonable, glad we had this talk XD
yer damn right!

I got quite a lot games this month.
These are 4 games i got last week. π
And these are the games i got this afternoon. π
And i have collected six USA Gamecube games on this month. π
My thought from all the games i got this month:
1. Wii Fit U & Wii Fit = Fair interesting but some mini games were quite difficult to play by using Balance board. π£
2. Pocoyo Party = Game for toddler, too easy. I finished the game between straight 2 - 3 hours. π
3. My Universe: Fashion Boutique = So so, somewhat like Imagine Fashion games but with 60 fps. The game was very quiet, no voiceover, some smooth jazz music. π
4. Yokai Watch 2: Bony Spirits = Looks like Yokai Watch 1++ , the Crank a Kai system still same as the first game, i got Frostail (Rank S Yokai) from Special Coin yesterday. π
5. Surf's Up = Mediocre, one activity based. Control was okay but i still struggle to get higher scores. Still need more practice to do Free Style. π£
6. Rocket Power: Beach Bandit = Actually, it was not really a bad game. Graphic was really bad, like 480i version of PS1 games but framerate was quite good, somewhat between 30 - 60 fps. I was not really a fan of old Nickelodeon cartoons during early 2000's era but for Rocket Power, somehow it grow my little interest with them recently as the storyline was about teenhood extreme sports, somewhat interesting for my curiosity. π
Say, who is fan of old Nickelodeon cartoons ?
Did you play their games on old consoles ?
