@Tyranexx Only played Ys VIII to date, which I consider to be one of the best JRPGs this gen. That particular entry combines fun, lightning fast action combat with level design and progression structures reminiscent of The Legend of Zelda. There are also fun side-quests, light base-building elements, social aspects with optional cutscenes that allow you to get to know the characters better, etc.
I think Origins is much more rudimentary and more of a straight action-rpg, though.
@Ralizah Speaking of base building type games, I was just wondering what else there might be like that on Switch. I really enjoy games where that's a big part of, if not the main part of the experience. Things like Cities Skylines, Civilization (the series), Stardew Valley, Animal Crossing NH, and I even played a good bit of Fallout Shelter and hated myself for starting to pay microtransactions (which is why I quit that one)
I'm gonna pop over to the suggestion thread too of course.

@Heavyarms55 : I'm merely judging by superficialities here, but Project Highrise looks very similar to Fallout Shelter (it's a tower-building simulator).
I have only ever played it in sandbox mode though as the standard mode looks far too daunting, and I play games to destress and curse less.
I had a huge blackout last night. It was so weird driving around. Half the stores had power, half didn’t. One road was split in half, one side having power, the other not. The storm was crazy too!
Heigh Ho Heigh Ho. It’s off to work (from home) I go.
@Ralizah Yeah Origins is....I guess kind of a spinoff or more or less? People love it but to me it's more its own thing than "Ys". Memories of Celcetta OTOH is excellent. I doubt it can compare to VIII and I've only played the early parts of it, but I think that one is another classic in the making (and is part of the Adol main story line.)
Well, going back from VIII to MoC, which is IV, is bound to be a bit strange, @NEStalgia .... I played it on Vita & can confirm it was great there Got it in Steam sales to replay sometime, as well! Ys Origin is a prequel, so it probably seems like a spin-off but it's worth a look for fans, at least
YES !!
I have kicked out All girl villagers from island. 😁😁😁
Now i have All Boy villagers with breakdown like this:
1 Lazy (Sherb)
2 Smug (Raymond, Marshal)
3 Jocks (Sterling, Jay, Tybalt)
4 Cranky (Apollo, Curt, Wolfgang, Rooney)
Now, my job is pay off All debt, get more money and get rid the overpopulated flowers.
Since i did too many Time Travels, now my flowers has been invaded my island.
Any quick way to get rid overpopulated flowers ?
@Eel
Gosh...
Kinda tedious. 😩
I have hundreds of overpopulated flowers, not to mention the Mums flowers on the cliff that i saw has been oversaturated in colors.
Btw, is Star rating for unlocking Lily of Valley flower ?
@BruceCM MoC is IV, but it's a total remaster of IV so it feels modern. Origins is a prequel but since the environment and world is so ancient and different feeling, and the gameplay is more straight-forward hack and slash, it feels like it's related, but a different series, IMO .
@Heavyarms55 I've had few pizzas that I would say were truly bad. The worst was these sausage pizza rectangles my high school served my Freshman year. They were...edible, but definitely tasted like cardboard. I was glad when they switched to normal cheese pizza slices, complete with stuffed crust. The new and improved pizza was MUCH better. I also avoid most frozen pizza bought in the store for multiple reasons.
I feel like I should mention most of our school lunches were actually pretty decent, though there was the occasional main food choice that I wasn't too fond of.
So Jet's sent you a franchisee link? That IS pretty funny! XD I know some people get a kick out of running their own restaurant, but I don't think it's for me either.
I should see if there are any precut fries around here without any additives. Not sure I'll have much luck, but I suppose it's worth a shot. A coworker today also told me about how they cut and bake their own fries in a way different from what I was trying, so I might give that a swing once I ask for the exact oven temp/times.
I also don't dislike cars, but I likewise dislike that they're almost mandatory outside many major cities. It's borderline impossible if there isn't anyone to reliably give you a ride when you need it. A co-worker's brother used to not have one and had to be taxied everywhere until he finally obtained his own license. He barely got by via rides and working within the town he used to live in. Kind of a long story as to why he didn't get one in HS like almost everyone else, but getting a license isn't a graduation requirement.
@NEStalgia, @Ralizah I've heard a lot of good things about Ys VIII, and a little trip down Reddit lane has shown me that a lot of web denizens do seem to hold that one in high regard. I've considered it previously but have been on the fence. It'll take a little more consideration, but I might grab the game now. Thanks for the feedback!
@NEStalgia I don't think I've seen takeout only Pizza Huts other than maybe one in passing at a food court one time. The chain is becoming less common around here. There used to be four in the general area, now down to (I think) two. One was torn down and replaced by a medical office (because the town it's in definitely needs another. /s), another closes years ago and was replaced by a delicious mom & pop restaurant before that building burned down (A new building for the M&P went up after that), the one closest to me is still operating, and the last is (I think) also still going; I haven't been to that last one in years as it's a town I don't go to often.
Edit: Dang, autocorrect and autocomplete on my phone are both very aggressive these days. Fixed a few words.
@Anti-Matter you see how your regular laptop has the top part made of two plastic shells covering the hinges and screen?
Well, it seems the left hinge is failing, so instead of closing completely, it stays slightly open, but the right hinge closes properly. So that twisting bends the plastic and it separates.
