@WoomyNNYes
I don't really like Wheel of Fortune Wii version as i tend to get Bankrupt oftenly so i called the Wii version as Wheel of Bankrupt.
How was the PS4/ Switch / Xbox One version that came along with Jeopardy ?
Was that version have better wheel spinning (Not pointing to Bankrupt oftenly) ?

@Anti-Matter Actually, I only played it about 4-5 times. I'm not thrilled with the Switch version. Xbox looks and works the same. I think the interface is clunky, I don't love it. And, I don' like the avatars. Unfortunately, I was spoiled with Jakks Pacific plug-n-play Wheel of Fortune from 10+ years ago, which was super simple, and easy to play - it was the best experience, and everything else feels inferior.

@Heavyarms55 I'll let you in on a little secret: none of us humans are exclusively rational and/or logical beings. If we would be, then we'd probably either be genetically engineered, or Vulcans...

Oh, and I may have worded it incorrectly, if I said "don't think about those things", because the brain, and by extension the universe, does not understand the word "no", or any derivative of it. That is why if I tell you to not think of pink elephants with purple polka dots right now, that is EXACTLY what you WILL be thinking of, while you're reading this. It's just how the brain works. That is why we need to be creative with the things we want and/or need to achieve. Within the confines of reasonability, of course: I don't mean things like "I want/need to become a millionaire", but I'm going to safely assume that you'll get the point.

The trick is to not "tell" yourself to not do or think certain things, but instead focus on the things that you DO want to do or think, or achieve, for that matter. It's the focus on possibilities, on the positive. If you do that, the negatives will become background noise, which will ultimately slowly fade away into nothingness. The opposite path could only lead to you becoming more and more miserable about missed chances, having to force yourself to do things and be in places that you don't want to be, and that's not going to help you. Obvious info, I know, but still. Perhaps it's good to remind yourself of that.

One other thing: never, and I do mean NEVER let fear rule you. I'm not trying to patronize you, or downplay your worries, but fear is simply not a good advisor, unless you're in imminent danger, in which case it does actually serve us. Like in "let's get out of the way of that oncoming truck, so I'll live to see another day" kind of scenarios...

In management training (yes, I actually followed that course. It was mandatory for one of the companies I worked for, in order for me to be able to become team leader/manager) I learned a rather relevant, and in my opinion very good way of dealing with fear. I won't bore you with the long version, but I can share the gist of it, and it will help, if you keep reminding yourself of this. It's going to be a bit nerdy and floaty, but I think you'll be able to stomach it, so please bear with me.

So, here goes: if you look at the word FEAR as an acronym, then it stands for "False Evidence Appearing Real". Meaning simply that fear is often irrational, and can become bigger/more overbearing, the more we focus on it or keep avoiding facing it. The trainer illustrated this by drawing a small stick figure on the white board with an arrow next to it, pointing at the figure, and a BIG circle next to it, with the word "fear" inside. It was an illustration of fear becoming bigger if you move/turn/run away from it.

He then erased the arrow point on the left, put it on the right side of the arrow, and made a small circle. Get the point? Facing whatever you don't like or fear might very well make it seem rather insignificant or FAR less scary than what you may have initially conjured up inside of your mind, and allowing it to simmer, or remain for too long in your mind, will only nurture it, essentially making it bigger than it actually is.

Well, that's it for the Mad Titan's wise and floaty words of the day. Hope they actually serve the purpose for which I typed them down here. And if not, just this once, you're allowed to laugh at me, for displaying my inner nerd...

@BabyYoshi12 Not hard, just hardER than normal, because we're missing tone of voice and facial expressions, but we live and learn, and we get to know people in other ways. Ways that we might not initially have learned of, if we had met face to face at a games convention or whatever, so in other ways, it's actually far easier to communicate like this. Less barriers for one, because no one REALLY knows each other, so we can't put a face to the name and therefore there's less hesitation/trepidation/doubt when jotting something down on a forum...

@NEStalgia Hey, train nerd, don't even think about it, or I'll have you for lunch...

This quote won the internet. That's signature worthy.

THAT is signature worthy? Oh, dear Lord...

"And thus, the decline of the human race had stepped up yet another notch... "

@Anti-Matter It's rinse and repeat, not repeat and rinse...

@Tasuki Well, it certainly is a very nice gift, so I really hope he appreciates it accordingly.

@WoomyNNYes That's most certainly the weirdest tissue paper I've ever seen. Doesn't look very absorbent, and it being black also kind of defeats its purpose...

They do however look like good fire starters for a barbecue.

@Heavyarms55 10-4 on not fitting in the mold! It's a feeling I don't have very much these days, but I used to often have the metaphorical sensation of not quite fitting in my own skin, wanting to escape out of my own head at times. I sometimes wonder what it would have been like to have been born in a more populated area in a different family as I feel like a unicorn in many situations. I wouldn't change some of my experiences living on a farm in the woods several miles from civilization, and I love much of my close and extended family, but there's always that "What if this had happened instead?" element. Maybe in a parallel universe.

I do agree that societal pressure fuels many perceptions of normalcy. Said perceptions do seem to shift over time; I believe that gaming is more mainstream these days, for example, though there are certainly expectations placed onto what certain demographics will (or "should") like or dislike. Many of these pressures and ideas of conformity are negative IMO and only add on to the issues that society has and doesn't really help to address them.

I've grown apart from most of those friends due to time/distance, but I still keep in frequent contact with one from that time period as she's still fairly close by. We don't see each other often, unfortunately; pandemic aside, our schedules don't align a lot of the time due to different work hours and life in general. We just got together for an evening last week after...I think we figured out it had been almost a year. O_o Another friend that I became pretty close to in college is still around too. As for another from my high school days that I keep in contact with...I haven't seen her in years. She moved with some of her family to Oklahoma several years ago, moved from there to Texas, then joined the Navy a couple years back after bouncing between jobs quite a bit. She's one of the few reasons why I still bother with FB on occasion as that's the only contact I have with her.

I have a fair few friends and acquaintances these days, some who share some of my interests even, but I wouldn't feel comfortable confiding in them as I do some of the longtime close friends.

@ThanosReXXX I...either missed that last discussion with Bimmy, or else I only skimmed the thread and missed the finer points. I'm assuming Bimmy will return when he wishes, and I do hope all is well.

I actually used to be quite proficient at text walls elsewhere. I'm still very capable of them; it's mostly a time thing. Plus, they're easier and less time-consuming to belt out when I'm on a laptop or PC (like now) vs. my usual method of browsing the site: my phone. You haven't seen me in top form from my heavy text RPG days on internet forums.... Definitely one of the pastimes that made some of my school years bearable.

Yep, the whole fitting in thing (or lack thereof) has inhabited a significant chunk of my life. I'm a lot better than I used to be thanks to self-help, talk therapy, a better job, and some life changes. I still have the occasional blah day, but it's telling when I used to dread getting out of bed almost daily, an issue now almost unheard of. I still have room for improvement in many areas. One step at a time.

I've struggled socially for much of my life too, which is a complete one-eighty from a young kid who wanted to be on all the family film recordings lol. Thanks to some natural shyness and some significant issues in my youth, talking to complete strangers and even making eye contact became quite difficult. I've found a lot of this is related to situational comfort, confidence, and self-esteem. I still highly dislike large crowds, but approaching people if I need/want something and making eye contact is less of an issue. I'm pretty decent at one-on-one conversations these days. Small talk does exhaust me, though I am better at keeping up said conversations. I also still have some difficulty reading people, and...Well, I do possess some empathy, arguably more than I used to when I intentionally would close myself off, but I can be pretty oblivious to some social cues and contexts sometimes.

@Tyranexx I totally understand having newer friends that you don't yet feel comfortable confiding in.

I have no idea what the future will hold and, while it doesn't look good, I'm doing my best not to dwell on the negatives. Especially things I cannot control. It only seems to work when it feels like it, but I'm trying.

@ThanosReXXX Good advice, as usual from you. But now you have me picturing Thanos in khakis and a business shirt teaching a budget self help course and I can't decide if that would be the most terrifying thing ever - or the funniest thing ever.

Konami can still making new DDR for Arcade during Covid19 pandemic so no excuse to not give Nintendo Switch some DDR games.

@Tyranexx Yeah, I actually do know about your text walls.
I was only teasing, since I hadn't seen one in quite a while.

@Heavyarms55 Probably the funniest, because you'll NEVER see me in anything even remotely similar to khakis.
I am indeed a casual chic guy, but for me, that means a decent pair of jeans and a buttoned shirt or a sweater/vest, depending on the time of year. And I'll wear a three piece suit, on occasion. In my previous job,
I had to do that more often, to represent the company and to receive guests/clients. No tie, though...

P.S.

You were right about the lack of a man bun, but there's definitely no comb-over either. Receding hairline, yes, but no bald spots, save for the knife scar at the back of my head...

Phew...
I have played ACNH for straight 7 hours just for villagers hunting.
My initial plan was completely not working, so i used my plan C by setting up the house kits until 10 houses, wait whoever occupied the house and kick the unwanted villagers 1 by 1. 😩
