@Anti-Matter Well, you’re playing that way so I can understand why you’d time travel. I personally think that if you time travel while playing the regular way (I don’t really know how to word that part. I’m not saying you’re playing the wrong way, just not the way most people play.)

@ThanosReXXX Yeah it's a bit expensive for a birthday gift but usually for his birthday I get a gift and take him to his favorite restaurant and maybe a movie. Thought this year he said he didn't want to go out due to COVID and he would rather have a Switch instead.

I will celebrate the achievement by beautify my island, relocate the houses if necessary, keep my 10 villagers stay forever in my island.

@Anti-Matter I once kicked out Rosie when she asked.

I will never forgive myself.

Just kidding, I have her amiibo card so I can invite her back.

@WoomyNNYes No I am not getting a game. He wants to get the Capcom Beaten up Collection or whatever it's called and the Mega Man Legacy games.

@Tasuki This is how I give my brother his christmas presents, now. A few years ago, I discovered squeezing black tissue paper into tight balls looks like coal.

I don't really like Wheel of Fortune Wii version as i tend to get Bankrupt oftenly so i called the Wii version as Wheel of Bankrupt.
How was the PS4/ Switch / Xbox One version that came along with Jeopardy ?
Was that version have better wheel spinning (Not pointing to Bankrupt oftenly) ?

@Anti-Matter Actually, I only played it about 4-5 times. I'm not thrilled with the Switch version. Xbox looks and works the same. I think the interface is clunky, I don't love it. And, I don' like the avatars. Unfortunately, I was spoiled with Jakks Pacific plug-n-play Wheel of Fortune from 10+ years ago, which was super simple, and easy to play - it was the best experience, and everything else feels inferior.

You mean the mods aren't dwarves? O_O (I've read some Tolkien recently)

@Heavyarms55 10-4 on not fitting in the mold! It's a feeling I don't have very much these days, but I used to often have the metaphorical sensation of not quite fitting in my own skin, wanting to escape out of my own head at times. I sometimes wonder what it would have been like to have been born in a more populated area in a different family as I feel like a unicorn in many situations. I wouldn't change some of my experiences living on a farm in the woods several miles from civilization, and I love much of my close and extended family, but there's always that "What if this had happened instead?" element. Maybe in a parallel universe.

I do agree that societal pressure fuels many perceptions of normalcy. Said perceptions do seem to shift over time; I believe that gaming is more mainstream these days, for example, though there are certainly expectations placed onto what certain demographics will (or "should") like or dislike. Many of these pressures and ideas of conformity are negative IMO and only add on to the issues that society has and doesn't really help to address them.

I've grown apart from most of those friends due to time/distance, but I still keep in frequent contact with one from that time period as she's still fairly close by. We don't see each other often, unfortunately; pandemic aside, our schedules don't align a lot of the time due to different work hours and life in general. We just got together for an evening last week after...I think we figured out it had been almost a year. O_o Another friend that I became pretty close to in college is still around too. As for another from my high school days that I keep in contact with...I haven't seen her in years. She moved with some of her family to Oklahoma several years ago, moved from there to Texas, then joined the Navy a couple years back after bouncing between jobs quite a bit. She's one of the few reasons why I still bother with FB on occasion as that's the only contact I have with her.

I have a fair few friends and acquaintances these days, some who share some of my interests even, but I wouldn't feel comfortable confiding in them as I do some of the longtime close friends.

@ThanosReXXX I...either missed that last discussion with Bimmy, or else I only skimmed the thread and missed the finer points. I'm assuming Bimmy will return when he wishes, and I do hope all is well.

I actually used to be quite proficient at text walls elsewhere. I'm still very capable of them; it's mostly a time thing. Plus, they're easier and less time-consuming to belt out when I'm on a laptop or PC (like now) vs. my usual method of browsing the site: my phone. You haven't seen me in top form from my heavy text RPG days on internet forums.... Definitely one of the pastimes that made some of my school years bearable.

Yep, the whole fitting in thing (or lack thereof) has inhabited a significant chunk of my life. I'm a lot better than I used to be thanks to self-help, talk therapy, a better job, and some life changes. I still have the occasional blah day, but it's telling when I used to dread getting out of bed almost daily, an issue now almost unheard of. I still have room for improvement in many areas. One step at a time.

I've struggled socially for much of my life too, which is a complete one-eighty from a young kid who wanted to be on all the family film recordings lol. Thanks to some natural shyness and some significant issues in my youth, talking to complete strangers and even making eye contact became quite difficult. I've found a lot of this is related to situational comfort, confidence, and self-esteem. I still highly dislike large crowds, but approaching people if I need/want something and making eye contact is less of an issue. I'm pretty decent at one-on-one conversations these days. Small talk does exhaust me, though I am better at keeping up said conversations. I also still have some difficulty reading people, and...Well, I do possess some empathy, arguably more than I used to when I intentionally would close myself off, but I can be pretty oblivious to some social cues and contexts sometimes.

@Tyranexx I totally understand having newer friends that you don't yet feel comfortable confiding in.

I have no idea what the future will hold and, while it doesn't look good, I'm doing my best not to dwell on the negatives. Especially things I cannot control. It only seems to work when it feels like it, but I'm trying.

@ThanosReXXX Good advice, as usual from you. But now you have me picturing Thanos in khakis and a business shirt teaching a budget self help course and I can't decide if that would be the most terrifying thing ever - or the funniest thing ever.

Dance Dance Revolution is still alive in it's 22nd anniversary.
Konami can still making new DDR for Arcade during Covid19 pandemic so no excuse to not give Nintendo Switch some DDR games.
