So another controversial news topic appeared in the news feed on NL, at least this time they disabled the comment section. But to me it's like what's the point. If you know a news article (on a gaming site) is going to be controversial and lead to a comment section full of trouble why post it? Doesn't make sense to me.

@Tasuki Well it is not controversial at all. But it is known that it will turn into crap show in the comments.
Many people will start making statement without any context and other people will argue with that.
Soon after that they will start "revolutions" and try to brand everyone "racist", "fascist" etc. That is what happened last time.
Also NL probably has to fill a quota on articles each day and after all this is connected to Nintendo directly.
People are very heroic on the internet and they have the "power" to try and be "influential".
@BruceCM It definitely does. I use fruit in a lot in oriental dishes. Either pineapple, various types of apples, peach or mango.
@Tasuki Honestly speaking, I didn't find that article controversial either. It's just a confirmation from Nintendo that, like Microsoft and Sony, they stand with the black community, which is the only right thing they could have said.
'The console wars are like boobs: Sony and Microsoft fight over which ones look the nicest and Nintendo's are the most fun to play with.'
In this case since it's an official company statement by Nintendo, it's certainly relevant. On the other hand between social media and my inbox, I find it a sad state of affairs, not in terms of "race relations" but in terms of the mental capacity of the American public at large that we need every major corporation falling over themselves to find the fastest, most broadcast method available to basically say "Just a reminder: We, at Big Corporation don't hate black people. And if you also don't hate black people then you should definitely shop with us."
In other news, Ew, apparently Sony announced last week that they really are doing a quasi-E3 timed unveiling......tomorrow at 1:00 PM PDT/4:00 Eastern? From 9:00PM prime time to....middle of the work day? It's 2020 and they're still copying Nintendo, I see....
I felt sleepy during playing Dragon Quest Builders 2 PS4. 😪
Dunno why, as i explore some island to unlock some contents after finishing storyline, i started to feel sleepy.
@NEStalgia Far as I know, that has now been put on hold for a while, due to the current goings on, so either nothing's going to happen next week, or next week IS the new date, because it was supposed to have been broadcasted already.

Yeah that probably it that they have a quota on how many articles they need per day and that's in the news right now. But still kudos to them closing off the comments before it became a ***** show.

@ThanosReXXX Ahh, funny I hadn't even heard the 5/4 presentation until about an hour ago....and that didn't list that it was postponed. Good job IGN, way to stay on top of things!
I was kind of stunned they were going to do it at all now, so they can slink back into their hole again now.
@Anti-Matter In a world filled with copy-pasted people hyped about Mario, Zelda, Uncharted, etc. you choose to stand alone and share your enthusiasm about the prospect of raising virtual babies.
Keep up the good fight, brother!

I highly doubt that baby game up there is any worse than that racing pooping baby sim (IIRC) that someone reviewed awhile back. But it may prove me wrong.
@Zuljaras Agreed. A lot of people online, particularly in emotionally charged times like these, tend to react or cherry-pick pieces of text they don't like in a comment and automatically make assumptions without hearing the full story from the initial party. Civility isn't impossible, but usually it devolves to name-calling, finger-pointing, and worse. This disregards obvious troll posts of those intentionally trying to worsen a situation, however.
@Heavyarms55 Sounds similar to the plastic my family would have to lay down in the house when hauling in/out the live Christmas tree every year. Live trees are nice in some respects, but they drop needles and bits of bark/wood like crazy. How much depends on the type of coniferous tree, though. It's a family tradition type thing my parents still do, but it's lost its magic now that the tree farm they go to already has the trees pre-cut. We'd go out to a tree farm, dad would bring a saw, and we'd all pick one for the season. He did the initial cutting, then the rest of the trimming was done before ratcheting it to the vehicle we'd brought.
I'm not fond of using weed killer, but there's no denial that it's definitely effective. I can't use it everywhere I want to, however; there are some sensitive plants that I still need to hand-weed around as I don't want them exposed to the stuff.
@NEStalgia Yep, it definitely seems like a very finicky field to be in. I think most meteorologists really do try, of course. I just don't think predictions should be made more than a few days in advance. Forecasts change by the hour, sometimes by the minute. What bothers me most, however, is how some places like the Weather Channel really start sensationalizing all of this stuff....I mean, it's the WEATHER.
@ThanosReXXX The only problem with my own chair is that the color doesn't really match the room it's in (walls are a light lavender), but I consider it a small sacrifice. It's red/black, a color combo I really like. The alternative was white/black, which would have worked better, but I dislike having lighter-colored furniture as I think it's more of a dust/stain magnet.
On the tunneling mini-badgers from down below: Sounds like I might need to make a whole range of annoying noisemakers, then. That could actually be fun. I'll at least start off with taking the very bottom off of a glass bottle when I get a hold of one. Thanks for the suggestion!
@NotTelevision The irony is that I've been to Universal Studios in California, though that was in the late 2000s. I enjoyed that visit immensely as well; we got to see some pretty cool things and even went on the park's studio tour. I remember we had to be pretty quiet at one point as there were a couple of shows in the area in the middle of a shoot at the time. There were plenty of neat rides and decent shows, too.
The Harry Potter books are amazing. I slightly prefer them over the movies. As far as book adaptations go, the movies are very good, among the best I've seen.

@NEStalgia Ohhh so that's how it works. Okay then. Here I thought the 400s and other weird numbers disproved the doubling thing. I didn't consider they might just be faulty repacked versions of different more conventional sizes. I'm still on the fence about what card I want to upgrade to, I could get a 512 for like 90 bucks, but that would presumably be full again rather quickly. But if I wait a few weeks it looks like I can get a 1tb for "only" about 320, instead of the current 450 I see listed. It's very tempting because 1tb would be more than doubling my current card, instead of just adding about 25%. It's more money, but a lot more space too...
@Tyranexx Yeah I bet they would be. We never used live trees in my family. My father was extremely picky about keeping the house clean. I grew up thinking most people took their shoes off before coming inside the house and never realized why my parents always asked people to do the same when visiting until like high school. So we'd never have a live tree because of the potential mess it would make. It's also part of the reason why we had no pets allowed.
And yeah, if I had a garden, I wouldn't use weed killer in it for that sort of reason. It is poison after all and I wouldn't want to kill the planets I actually cared about.

I heard there is a game called Bug Fables that is like PM64/TTYD.
What do you guys think about it?
This blue eye perceives all things conjoined. The past, the future, and the present. Everything flows and all is connected. This eye is not merely seen reality. It is touching the truth. Open the eye of truth... There is nothing to fear.
@La-weejee And just as I thought: "well, how much worse and/or creepier can it get", we've reached a new low... (shakes head)
@NEStalgia Well, whatever they end up doing, I'm pretty sure we'll hear all about it soon enough...
@Tyranexx You're welcome. Be sure to let me know if it worked for you.
As for furniture: all my furniture is either black, or in nature-like/earthy tones. You've obviously seen my desk chair, so that's black, I have an L-shaped couch/lounger that is also black (and also faux-leather, like my desk chair), and then I have four of these:
Two in somewhat of a wine red tone, and two in moss green. And from the looks of it, this is definitely the new and improved model, with better seat and head rest, and the whole underside and back now has some kind of sturdy support layer. Mine just have the wooden frames on the sides and on the floor, the seat itself being an iron tubing frame, suspended/bolted between the wood, so you're basically "hanging" in between, if you sit on them.
Oh, and my walls are white, so they go with just about anything. The floor is laminate paneling, wood tone. You can actually see a bit of it in my desk chair photo...
