@PrincessAzunyan My point was in relation to 70's movies, not in relation to super hero movies or comics adaptations, so I think you misunderstood me.

I had a pretty successful Community Day in Pokemon Go. Thankfully I had my fill right before some nasty weather rolled through. Besides a few shiny Seedot, I also managed to land a shiny Electrike of all things. Been looking for one of those for some time!

The only negative is that I forgot to bring some sunscreen....I tried to keep to the shade when I could, but I'm 98% sure I have a sunburn forming.

@ThanosReXXX Yep, gotta account for distance. By my calculations, we'd have to end up somewhere in Tennessee to meet in the middle lol. Probably even a bit farther east.

I did install Firefox on my phone yesterday and gave that a spin. Seems pretty slick! I switched over all my bookmarks too. I ended up doing this manually, but it wasn't bad once I got into the flow of things lol. Some sites like this one chew through my battery faster than some, so we'll see if some of that has to do with Chrome itself.

I'll take your word for it on Aquaman. I'll give it a chance at any rate. I'm a sucker for many hero movies lol.

@NintendoByNature Duly noted! I'm sure I've unfortunately wasted time on worse movies. I don't recommend That's My Boy or Burn After Reading.

I'm also one of the unfortunate souls who watched The Last Airbender in theaters.

@HobbitGamer It was one of the first videos we ever rented. We picked up our Sanyo Betamax VCR, and before we drove home my mum and dad joined Hollywood Video Club in Bethnal Green in London. They rented two films: The Exorcist and Phantasm. RIP the Tall Man.

@Tyranexx I nabbed a few shiny Seedots just with a lure while sitting in my apartment watching anime. lol
Sunburns always suck. I'm one of the type who doesn't tan unless he burns first - so I just put up with being pale. :/ I always wish I had gotten my father's darker Mediterranean/Italian skin tone instead of my mother's pasty white northern German skin. Instead, like my father, I'm practically a gorilla with my annoying fur... ugh. #TMI

Back to Pokemon Go, I wonder when the game will finally be connected to Pokemon Home. They said that was planned but have done nothing since. If they changed their mind, I wish they'd at least say so. I'd love to bring some of my extra shiny Pokemon into SW/SH.

At first I was I worried I would only find one, but then found like three in quick succession and then ended up with 7 shiny seedots.

I don't know what to do with the leftovers, other than wait for Home to accept transfers from Go

So, shinies are super common in Pokemon Go? Kinda ruins what's special about them.

@Eel I hang on to all my extra shinys. You never know when you might have a friend who missed a community day or something. Some I have skipped because I didn't much like the shiny or have the time, but I am still annoyed that I missed my shiny Mudkip.

Now if only online trading were a thing...

@roy130390 No, they are extremely rare. It's just that occasionally they hold events with increased chances for a single species to be shiny for 3-6 hours. But even then the odds are still 1 in several hundred. Outside of events, even people who play daily will go days or weeks or longer without any.

May has been an excellent month for shinies to me. I’ve found like 20 or so, even a legendary. It’s been quite nice.

I would probably save them for friends if my local friends played the game.

Edit: I counted, exactly 20. +2 I caught while phone-sitting fory brother, so I'd say 22.

@Heavyarms55 I nabbed a couple with a lure; for part of the afternoon I rode along with my family to do cemetery visits, so I dropped a lure and am certain at least two of my shiny Seedot (wound up with 8 total) came from that. I walked on my own later on, which is when I got sunburnt lol. I played the game on and off for about three hours. I evolved the two best ones up to Shiftry, am keeping a couple around for trades, and admittedly junked the really bad ones. I just don't have the space for a ton of repeats, shiny or no. XD

I'm one who also burns long before they tan, unfortunately. I just put up with the pale skin, and I'm a dirty blond/borderline brunette. I'm more prone to sunburns these days as I spend a little more time outdoors than I used to. I can usually avoid a ton of sun exposure by going out in the late afternoon/early evenings, but 3-4 PM apparently isn't late enough for me.

If they ever do allow long-distance trading (I'm honestly surprised they don't as the main series games have long-distance trading), I do have an extra shiny Marshtomp you can have.

@Eel Good lord man! That's a hell of a haul! How often do you play? And what shiny legendary? I have two, Latias and Groudon. Both from when we got a random legendary after 7 days of research tasks. And that event has utterly spoiled me, because the 7 day reward has been crap by comparison ever since.

@Tyranexx Sounds like you've got pretty light skin too. And if they do add trading, I will gladly hit you up! They have online battling so I don't see why no trading. If they really want to keep people from abusing it, they can just make it cost more stardust. They already do that for rarer Pokemon or ones the other player hasn't caught themselves yet.

Terrakion is actually the first shiny legendary I catch (in go).

My shiny luck wasn't that great lately until earlier this week. Besides my haul today, I caught a shiny event Pikachu (first sparkly Pikachu ever) on Friday.

For wild encounters, my luck normally stinks. I usually have better shiny luck with research breakthroughs, certain events like C-Day, and research task rewards.

@Heavyarms55 I've also been confused as to why online battling is allowed, but not trading. As you mentioned, they could impose limits like higher stardust costs or so many remote trades per day. It's a pain for me to meet up with people to trade sometimes, in fact it's borderline impossible for a couple of my current lucky friends due to health or distance.

I can see it coming eventually, but not anytime soon.

@Tyranexx I feel like, if there was ever a time to add online trading, during this pandemic with all the stay at home orders we have/had would have been it. I guess they really don't want people trading regional exclusives overseas and ruining the "specialness" or something... I haven't had too many random shinys outside of events either. A few, but not many. Ponyta, Eevee (not from c-day but random), Kabuto, Bulbasaur (again, random), psyduck, swablu, Drifloon, Sentret, Feebas, Anorith, Aipon, castform, and wingull. Not really that many, considering how long I have played the game.

@Eel Oh wow, I didn't even know Terrakion was obtainable shiny already! Very cool! And wow! That's a really amazing haul! Aside from Seedots the only shiny I picked up recently was a Psyduck. Which I kinda regret evolving. Psyduck, like Ponyta, has a much nicer shiny before it evolves.

@Heavyarms55 Agreed, this pandemic would've been the best time to add remote trading. Your guess is as good as mine as to why they haven't yet. While I kind of see the point of regional exclusives - to promote trading - I really hope they run more events soon where they briefly swap the regionals to make them slightly easier to obtain. I've finally filled my entire Kanto dex thanks to an event they ran a few months ago where regionals could appear in eggs.

Nice list of shinies there. You have a few that I've been looking for. XD I've heard shiny Bulbasaur looks a lot like a normal one.

@Heavyarms55 oh yeah it goes from unique Psyduck to overcooked Golduck. Coincidentally, my brother has a shiny ponyta that he refuses to evolve.

I'm usually not this lucky, I'd say before this month I had only ever found like less than ten full odds shinies. So I know it'll only go downhill from here 😅

Wingull is my favorite shiny by the way!

About the Pokedex, my only kanto-mon missing is Seaking of all things. I've only ever seen about two goldeens.

@Tyranexx Yeah, Shiny Venusaur looks great and quite different, but I totally could imagine people not paying attention and missing bulbasaur. It's one of those ones that's hardly different - much like Zapdos. My friend has a shiny Zapdos and it has to be one of the most disappointing shinys around. I mean, yeah, it's shiny, technically.

@Vinny I mean, it's not like the Switch is finished with no more releases coming. It could be simply that there isn't a volume 2, yet.

@Heavyarms55 The one I'm talking about came out in 2008, the joke is that they never bothered to make a vol 2 despite there being a vol 1.

@Vinny Ah. In that case, it's actually entirely your fault. They specifically want to aggravate you and chose not to make a volume two for that sole reason.

Now to be fair, most of the company was baffled by this choice, but anime logic.
