I have mixed reactions to spray paint graffiti. In some cases, clearly a lot of work went into it and it should almost be considered art IMO. Then there are exhibits where it was a quick scribble of something where you wonder why someone even put in the effort (or lack thereof). You don't see too much of the fancier graffiti around here other than on the occasional bridge and on passing freight cars. Most of them are the juvenile scribbles of random initials, lines, moronic symbols, and the obligatory recreations of certain body parts.

In any case, it's still hard for me to forgive this kind of thing on private buildings and so on, even if they are abandoned.

@ThanosReXXX Thanks for linking those Kensington songs! I'm giving them a listen as I type. I'll likely look up the group on Spotify while I'm working this week as well. There are a few groups I need to check up on, actually....I haven't scouted newer songs or "discovered" new groups too recently. It's something I normally try to do every now and again.

On B&C: I'll certainly give the combo a try at some point. I normally don't keep alcohol or many mixables in the house - heck, the only beverage I normally buy is milk lol - but I've been considering keeping them around for special occasions or isolated celebrations of accomplishments. I'm tempted to get that glass too, if only for the neat-looking bat on the bottom.

On traffic: I'm better about blocking it out nowadays unless my windows are open. Even then, the amount it bothers me depends on what I'm doing. The worst is when it has also rained, like last night; I had to shut the window next to my recliner so that I could hear the dialogue in Batman: The Telltale Series as the swish of passing traffic was drowning out the noise. I really had the volume up, too.

I have at least some idea of how your normal noise level functions. I've spent a night in a hotel in downtown Chicago before. The place was a nice yet old hotel, and the walls definitely didn't block out a ton of noise IMO. Not only were we almost right next to Michigan Avenue (a very, very busy traffic drag), but I'm pretty sure there was also a hospital or a fire department nearby. You could also hear trams on a nearby branch of the "L" (short for "elevated") sometimes. I managed to get some sleep, but to be surrounded by that noise all the time....Well, I'd adjust, but it definitely would be a change lol.

@WoomyNNYes I was referring to the tall skinny black tags, they call them wickeds in Philly. I have a couple of crew members in Philadelphia who do graffiti who are affiliates with people I know in Brooklyn. I don't know anything about the other stencils to be honest.

@Tyranexx I know what you're saying, for every decent bit of work that gets done there's tons of garbage graffiti that gets done sadly....

@WoomyNNYes I'm based in London so that's why I'm not too familiar with who does what in Philly, but I recognise the style a mile away.

@WiltonRoots Yep. If one is gonna create some graffiti - heck, I've even heard of individuals and companies paying talented people to do it to their own property - at least put in some effort. XD There's an old metal bridge near where I grew up that spans a small river that's just full of the effortless stuff. It looks like someone threw up on it.

@WoomyNNYes "Anyone that wants to play Find Waldo... "

Well, unless one is absolutely blind or myopic, that wasn't really all that hard to spot: I instantly noticed "Waldo" looking/lurking/swinging around the corner on the front most column near your head...

@Tyranexx You're welcome. I figured I'd save you the trouble of having to wade through unfamiliar songs, and just give you my own "Best of Kensington" playlist. And if you REALLY want to know how good they are, be sure to look up any of those songs with the added sentence "Live from (or at) Ziggo Dome", which is one of the biggest concert halls near the city here, and in which they've already done two different concert runs.

I'd also be interested to hear your verdict again on all the songs in that playlist. But no rush, so I'll see it whenever you've got the time.

Completely agreed on graffiti, by the way. In that respect, I'd say that Amsterdam is basically "Little New York", because the streets, subways and railway stations are littered with tags and full-blown art pieces. Some of them are pretty good, but most are exactly like what you described.

@Eel True, there is backtracking, but if you've followed the directions of the game as presented, then you should now have either 1 or 2 shortcuts, one of which leads to "tax island", which is a location that you'll frequently need to re-visit.

@ThanosReXXX Haha.. I was was looking at the graffiti, looking to see what I else I could see, and then I noticed it. Funny thing is, if you look at my line of sight in the photo, I'm staring right at it 🤪. Also, good work ThanosRexxx! A for the day!

Most realistic game ever?

@WoomyNNYes Thanks.
On a side note: in all honesty, if I had to picture myself staring at a "Waldo", then I would most definitely come up with something COMPLETELY different than it being a funny thing, though...

@klingki Haha, yeah. But it IS an educational game about teaching children to earn, save and responsibly spend money, so that is of course one aspect of it. I personally feel that they've implemented it quite well.

One of the first examples that you'll encounter in the game, is that you'll need to spend tax money to repair a bridge.

@ThanosReXXX I've listened to the first three so far and will likely listen to the rest during my work week. My favorite so far seems to be Riddles. Though a true verdict from me often requires more than one listen. I will try to remember to update you on the proceedings.

I wonder if there's a system out there that catalogues certain really good tags and graffiti pieces in certain given areas? I'd certainly give it a browse.

@NintendoByNature Now that IS a place I've heard of, but I've never been to. Thanks for making me hungry!

Okay, so I was checking the homework we dumped on the students for quarantine. The 3rd year kids are learning how to use the cardinal directions in English. One of my students described South Korea as being in the northeast of Asia. Personally I would describe it as just east but I let it slide because the grammar was right and looking at the map I can kind of see it.

But what do you think, would you say just east or northeast?
