@ThanosReXXX@bimmy-lee I cleard the first area of Island Saver. It's not bad. It's satisfying to play so far, kinda solid. But playing in handheld mode, the vibration when you jump feels harsh. Shame you cant turn it down. You can turn vibration off, though. I haven't tried it with a pro controller yet to see if it's harsh there. Gyro aiming would be nice.
Speaking of gyro aiming. For game like Island Saver, I'm kind of surprised adding gyro aiming doesn't seem to be a function devs cant copy & paste into a game. And, I'm gonna tag @Eel here, cause, haha Just because @eel doesn't tag people when he talks to them 🤪. That, and Eel, you're probably reading this anyway Hola eel, our querido amigo.( querido amigo = dear friend)
@Eel Yeah it's a game that teaches kids about money and fiances.
As for that Achievement Thread. Just got keep an eye on the guy. He likes to bait people and when they don't give him answer they like they insult people and resort to just being childish. I said my piece and let it go cause I was going nowhere with him but he kept trying to bait me. I don't think a ban necessary but perhaps a warning. As I he likes to create bait threads and trys to pass of his opinions as facts I am sure @ThanosReXXX will agree.

@Eel Yeah, I suppose you could also compare it to that. But it's not about gardening, it's basically about teaching children about earning and saving money, and how banks work. That's why it's free: it's an educational game, sponsored by the NatWest bank, and it doesn't have any kind of micro-transactions, if that's what you're talking about. I've played several hours already, and never came across anything.
@WoomyNNYes Yeah, I've noticed that unnecessary rumble bit as well. Completely agree with you there, but ultimately, it's just a tiny annoyance.
@Tasuki Yeah, he isn't the best at making clear he's posing an opinion, making it seem like he's talking facts, but like I said, he has calmed down now. Sucks that he kept annoying you, but other than that, he's now behaving relatively normal. And he's new, so I'm willing to give him some space to improve and get to know us.
On a side note: I never use the ignore button. Far as I'm concerned, it's defeatism in its purest form. I don't walk away if I did nothing wrong, so I shouldn't have to put restrictions on myself. But obviously, if people want to use it, then that's their choice.
P.S.
Island Savers is a game that teaches kids about money and fiancees? I know that the latter do cost a LOT of money sometimes, but better not bother the kids with all these kinds of grown-up problems just yet...

I finally set up a postimage.org (@thanosrexxx) Now I can post photos.
Here's an oldie. But one of my most prized photos. I don't know how I feel about keeping a photo of myself in such a public domain, so I might delete it in the near future.
@ThanosReXXX Stupid spell check lol. As for the ignore button, I don't like to use it either but if for whatever reason a mod isn't going to warn a user and the user is going to keep trying to antagonize me then I feel I have no choice. Honestly I feel that an ignore button is just so they don't have to ban users cause well let's be honest sites like Nintendo Life want the visits even if the users are troublesome.

@bimmy-lee The funny thing is, I'm not even bored by what I'm reading; I guess I just become too relaxed. I haven't started spontaneously falling asleep while gaming yet at least. If I do start feeling tired, I will stop playing however. Ten-year-old, Tyranexx, who played their GBC by nightlight (Thank Arceus the GBA SP came along), would also be appalled.
@ThanosReXXX I saw that thread on achievements and almost posted in it, but then I read some of the posts and realized it wasn't even worth my time. XD I try not to engage with what I think is already a lost cause. I don't like losing brain cells.
On Charmed: that is what's confusing to me. Why they have to market the new series as feminist when the original clearly was about strong women as well. One of the articles you linked highlighted that quite well IMO. The Halliwell sisters never came off as damsels in distress to me, and I haven't even seen a lot of the series. I like strong females in media. That's why Princess Zelda is one of my favorites as, in most titles (ignoring the first two), she aids Link in some way and is an all-around awesome person.
I can appreciate some background noise, though it isn't something I always do. Typically I have music or a YT vid of some sort running while I eat supper or am busy in the kitchen with food or washing dishes. Then there's white noise; I used to not need it, but I started running a fan overnight when I moved to my current place of residence to drown out the early morning traffic noise. I live along a busy road that heads straight into the nearest town, so the 5:30 traffic used to really affect my sleep. I'm definitely not a morning person.
@Tasuki Yeah, I already assumed it was a spell check error. But being able to make fun with it was entertaining...
You know, in all honesty, I was tempted, torn between using the ignore button, or waiting for the mods to warn him, but that didn't happen, so I simply adapted and tried a different approach, which initially gave me some flak, but eventually, I got through to him, and now I can actually have a normal conversation with him.
Truth be told, that's also a trick I've learned professionally: I'm a sales & marketing professional, and learning to read people and adapt to them is a skill I've always have but because of my work, have been able to expand upon, so because I kind of know that it'll work in the end, I tend to be able to have a little more patience than the average person, and as such, I haven't found the need for the ignore button yet.
Having said that, though, I don't really understand how or why he was triggered by you so much, because I've read and re-read that entire exchange of comments, and you really said nothing weird, so that'll probably always remain somewhat of a mystery.
@Tyranexx Well, if you don't like losing brain cells, then you had better swear off any and all alcoholic beverages.
Which he said while sipping on a Bacardi & Coke...
But you made the best choice staying out of that thread, because ultimately, it went nowhere.
As for Charmed 2.0: as mentioned before, I think that the makers are kind of between a rock and a hard place. I do condemn them for trying too hard to cater to just about every group and way of thinking. All in all, it's just too much, but that was already established...
We can definitely shake hands on not being morning persons: I come alive at night, even though my utterly social self is basically always on, so for example: if you'd call me out of bed, you'd more than likely never notice, unless you REALLY know me, because obviously, there's a subtle difference between "barely awake me" and "full-on me".
But yeah, if it was up to me, days wouldn't start before 11am...
As for what you mentioned about "using" noise, that's basically also what I meant. I happen to use TV, you use several media or even a fan, but it comes down to the same thing: not having/wanting silence in a home where it's just you.

Some time ago, we were discussing music, Dutch shows revolving around music and so on, and that somehow popped into my head again today, and due to the times and restrictions that we're under, one song in particular stays in my head, and maybe partly because of the slightly inebriated state I'm in, I'm feeling kind of melancholy, and I wish to share.
It's a song from one of the best Dutch bands around, if not THE best Dutch band at the moment. They're called Kensington, and their type of music is something of a mix between rock, grunge and pop.
This song was written by the singer & front man of the band, after the brother of one of his best friends died in a car crash, but due to the lyrics and the sentiment of it, I feel that it's somehow also quite fitting for the pandemic and these restrictions that we're currently under.
As the singer himself said:
"A song about loss. A dear friend lost his younger brother in a tragic accident. Never have I experienced something more moving, it felt like uncharted territory. A couple days after the accident this song poured out of an old acoustic guitar. This is the song I’m most proud of."
So, here goes:
Here's the lyrics, in case you can't clearly hear all of them:
Lyrics:
No one knows just what to say It’s like we’re in uncharted territory No one knows the proper way It’s like the ground has fallen from under me
And all sensible words All sensible hearts Oh, where do they go And why do they leave us now
And if I could go back again, I’ll go back again If the worst is happening how does anything work Now let me please go back again, I’ll go back again
No one knows what part to play It’s like we’re in uncharted territory No one knows another way It’s like all grace in life has parted from me
And all sensible words All sensible souls Oh, where do they go And why do they leave us now
And if I could go back again, I’ll go back again If the worst is happening how does anything work Now let me please go back again, I’ll go back again
And all sensible words All sensible hearts Keep calling for course A heading or buoy Could the end be a start? All sensible souls Oh, where do they go And why do they leave us now
And if I could go back again, I’ll go back again If the worst is happening how does anything work Now let me please go back again, I’ll go back again
And if I could go back again, I’ll go back again If the worst is happening how does anything work Now let me please go back again, I’ll go back again
No one knows just what to say It’s like we’re in uncharted territory...
I hope you like it, but if not, that's also okay. Either way, I'd still be curious about your verdict.
@ThanosReXXX I read the lyrics first. Didn't seem my thing. Then I tried the vid and it worked much better than I could imagine from just reading it. Thanks for sharing, I enjoyed it.
Meanwhile, I've been feeling like celebrating the announcements of Paper Mario and Colours! coming to Switch, and this was the first thing that came to mind. Excuse the ropey quality, I don't think I can export the video from my 3DS. And yes, it is too late at night to bother with shadows and shading 😴
@gcunit You're welcome. For me personally, it's the title alone that already hit me, because with this current situation, we actually ARE in uncharted territory, and as the song also says, no one knows the proper way indeed, so even though the song wasn't written for this purpose or situation at all, it still seems very fitting to me.
EDIT:
And that's a darn good Kirby drawing, so good on you.
