@BruceCM My humor is pretty dry and tongue-in-cheek at times; I'm one who would probably post a picture of me doing something like that...but within my own home. I'd never actually go out in public like that. Besides, I'm much more fond of the memes involving Corona beer. XD
@Heavyarms55 Agreed. I'm sure more than a few journalists start out with good intentions, but when you become part of the profit-driven machine...yep. I considered going into journalism at one point as I like writing, but I learned it wasn't really for me.
@ThanosReXXX That's...sad, to say the least. I get a lot of my news online, so I'm surprised I missed that to begin with. Though I've admittedly been paying less attention to the Covid circus lately as it's usually "Do this...no, THIS!...NoPe, YoU nEeD tO dO tHiS nOw!...." A lot of mixed messaging. I've already mentioned the mask confusion between the CDC and WHO in the appropriate thread. Different states are responding differently. I'm not totally against how my own is handling things, but the current "opening plan" they have laid out has about a month between each phase. IMO that span of time needs to be shortened a little. And don't get me started on some of the insane classifications on "essential" businesses....I'm not against jobs being retained in this crisis, but it has yet to be explained to me how a place that prints junk mail is considered "essential" while a children's clothing store is not.
I daresay all countries, counties, communities, etc. have their fair share of morons, however. XD
I don't use "boomer" as a derogatory term; I just try to use the labels for each respective generation, even though they're over-generalizations. Gen Xers, Millenials, Boomers, Gen Z, the Silent Generation....
I hope to get to the Marvel movies before TOO long. XD For one, that'll require a subscription service I don't currently have. I don't watch movies at home too often, funnily enough; most of my entertainment is split between my game consoles, books/manga, and interneting.

Yep, there's always some idiots around, @Tyranexx... The confusion is a mix of the government providing some of the rules but it's then our councils that interpret most of it Then, there's slight variation between different shops & then the whole lot is updated daily, too
While I'm thinking about it, and this is neither here nor there, but...did Anti get banned again?
@BruceCM I've recently heard about one particularly odd situation via an uncle lately. They just reopened access to some state-ran parks, forests, etc. at the beginning of May. My uncle enjoys getting out on a boat and fishing on occasion at a nearby lake. The park authority still has to have all the public restrooms locked up and closed. The only way anyone can go to the restroom is by using a single porta-potty. So they're shut off from a place with multiple spots to do their business that has sinks, soap, and water and have to use one single spot to relieve themselves between all present WITHOUT any way to wash their hands (unless one brings their own essentials, of course).
@Tyranexx I've been wondering where he's been myself and every time I remember to post asking where/how He is, I get busy and forget to when I'm back on posting messages.
@Tyranexx If I had to guess, he probably did. I checked Anti-Matter's profile and I saw that his avatar and profile description are gone. (You can still see his avatar if you check his comment log.)
@NintendoByNature, @MarioLover92 Same here; I hope he's doing okay. I hadn't thought to check his profile, but his avatar is currently the site's default, and there's a lack of a description. So yes, I'd say it's a possibility he was banned.

@ThanosReXXX That makes sense. Then how best would you suggest cleaning the rubber portions without damaging them?
@Tyranexx I don't think journalists in general have bend intentions. It's just the nature of the beast, when you work for a profit driven company you have an obligation to do what makes money. The fact that the vast majority of major news outlets are owned by entertainment media companies is a major factor as well.
We need more independent news companies and major media corporations like Fox, Disney, WarnerMedia, Google, Facebook and other major companies need to be broken up. When companies get too large, no individual intentions really matter anymore. What you have is a machine and the people working for it are just replaceable parts, disagree with the machine and you'll just be replaced with another cog.

@Tyranexx Oh yeah you could be right, he sure likes his DDR! After all, he did place the entire series as his #1 favorite game. Speaking of which, I remember this other dancing game at my arcade years ago (it wasn't DDR, I don't remember the name of it but there were diagonal arrow buttons plus a center one). I do recall playing it for a bit, but I wasn't very good at it lol.
It could be me, but I really think that Anti became more flexible and less intense, at least from what I rememmber from a couple years ago, so I'm surprised that he might have gotten himself banned now. Also, where's Meowpheel?
By the way, what is everyone playing mostly these days? I'm curious. I'm trying to divide my attention between Animal Crossing, Hollow Knight, Starlink and Digimon Cyber Sleuth. I'm saving Yooka Laylee and Smash Bros for later, at least for the most part since I did play them a bit, specially Smash since a friend likes to play online.
remember, post comments 6 feet apart.
dont be that guy

@ThanosReXXX I just saw your comment about "boomer" and "millennial" and I am really disappointed to see you have such an opinion. It baffles me how you can think that. Both terms are offensive, inaccurate generalizations. And both as as real as any other offensive, inaccurate, generalization.
Do you really think a group of people constantly labelled negatively for their age would not eventually return the favor? Name calling is an unproductive childish behavior, but as someone labelled a millennial as well, I can't say I was at all surprised to hear many of my peers start to throw the same sort of insult back in the face of the people who have degraded us, generally without actually knowing any of us, all our lives. They learned that behavior from being on the receiving end of it.

@Heavyarms55 I indeed don't think most journalists have bad intentions. Unfortunately, said corporations they work for are pulling the strings, so the headlines and stories are subtly fashioned to go off of a certain angle or pull the audience in, whether through clickbaity, "outrageous" headlines ("Look what X person did NOW!" ) or loaded language.
Also agreed that some corporations are too big for their own good. I like Disney franchises and the general founding ideas and principles of the company (for the most part) for example, but I don't like the corporate giant it has become, picking up franchises it honestly has no need to mess with and rehashing older films that don't need the "real life" treatment.
@MarioLover92 DDR machines aren't common where I am; you have to travel to the closest major city to find one. I've tried one once; I was terrible. XD Those games definitely take some skill!

@roy130390 I've been playing lots of jrpgs lately. Currently playing ff9 but also some animal crossing and smm2. I see you have good taste in games yourself.
@ThanosReXXX Damn. That reminds me that I worked for Gameloft as a QA Tester. It was fun as a starter job but the salary was the lowest in the world probably. And they never raised anything. At least it game me a start in the IT field
