@Tyranexx She's doing alright, thanks. Saw her PCP today, they did some blood work and cognition tests. Got referred to a different neurologist after last week's stellar performance, so that's good. She starts PT tomorrow. Oh, and she isn't allowed to drive because her reaction time is apparently abysmal. So she didn't like that. She's open to playing some co-op beat em up games to help that, so Altered Beast will rise from the gwave.

@HobbitGamer Sounds like you and her are getting results, which is good. I can see how not being able to drive would be frustrating. Better help those reflexes with some Altered Beast! So she's a beat-em-up fan?

@ThanosReXXX Hah, thanks for the mention. I've barely been around here lately. Too busy. You'd think otherwise, and busy is kinda good.... Much better than not busy these days.... But I'm running on pure adrenaline alone at this point. Between real work (that's actually still a thing for we lucky few) managing food, and a dozen other crises that become catastrophes due to all the weirdness, a few hours of sleep then back to running at warp speed seems to be all there is for 2 months. I played a little Spyro 2 a few weeks ago, an Easter treat to myself, but that's the full extent of games I've touched on months. Animal crossing will be opened over the weekend perhaps...... While we plunge into January weather again. Everything seems upside down, even the weather is confused.
Trains don't seem terribly appealing at the moment either.... Though they announced cruises will return in August. I mean, if you have to pay lots of money to acquire a sickness, the means of acquiring syphilus sounds like a lot more bang for your buck than a lousy carnival cruise. You can even score a BOGO there! .
@Tyranexx Yeah you're spot on with those things you heard about. They really did release the game too early. But it is a mobile game after all and even though I like it a lot now after years of updates, no mobile game is a good as most true video games on console or PC.

@Tyranexx Well, then I hope I'll still be alive or of sane mind, by the time you get to buying that Wii, seeing as I was supposed to help you soft-mod it...
@ogo79 It's dangerous to go alone. Here, take this: @NEStalgia You're welcome. I was just wondering, since normally, you were a regular on here, and of late of course pretty vocal in the Corona virus thread, so I decided to throw you a message to find out what was up...
I've only bought and played a couple of small/cheap games, because I simply haven't got the budget right now, but I'll get to Animal Crossing next month: currently, I have no work, because I didn't manage to get any new assignments before all this crap started (#life as an independent contractor sucks in these times), and these current restrictions mean that a LOT of companies have not only locked down themselves, but also their business affairs with third parties like myself, so I'm living on my reserves right now, but at the end of the month, I still have a long awaited bonus coming, albeit a relatively moderate one.
But erm.... BOGO?

@HobbitGamer Ah, okay. Guess I'm REALLY starting to get old now, not knowing all the "hip and happening" abbreviations anymore...
Always hated those anyway. I'm more of a "bloody damn well say what you mean and don't speak in riddles or buzz words" kinda person. One wouldn't expect that, me being in sales & marketing and all, but there you go.
I'm actually a relatively normal person regardless.
Well, except of course for my sacrilegious love for pineapple on pizza...
@ThanosReXXX She's never played the genre before. But when you get down to it, it's pretty much the same as SMB. Only you're punching and kicking Koopas instead of jumping on and crushing their internal organs.

@HobbitGamer So, it's not really beat em ups, then.
But still: your mother likes and PLAYS video games?
My parents never understood it. Then again: that's probably due to them being from the 1940's, so that was just an entirely different generation. All they ever though of it, was it being a waste of time. Fun for some, maybe, but still a waste of time. And during my time living at home, I only ever got one video game related gift from them, which was a handheld LCD Pac-Man game.
Everything else I've ever owned or now still own, has been bought and paid for with my own hard-earned money.

@Eel And that in and of itself ties in nicely with Animal Crossing, which is basically an open world Tamagotchi game. I used to have one, long ago, don't even know which one anymore, but it was during the initial Tamagotchi hype. Anyway, I wasn't very good at taking care of it, so it died several times over, and ultimately, I gave it away, deciding that it just wasn't for me.
I am going to get Animal Crossing, as I should, according to my own rules of buying titles that MUST be owned, due to them being console-specific, but I don't really know how long I'll be playing it. When the whole lock-down curtain will lift, there just won't be enough time to play, but I guess I'll ultimately find out how well I'll get on with it...

(Both originals and the minis are from the 20th anniversary re-releases)
1 original gen 1 (on display)
1 original gen 2 (on display)
2 mini (on display)
2 Connection V4.5 (in storage)
1 Music Star (in storage)
1 On (currently waiting for battery replacement)
1 Pac-Man Nano (active)
As for animal crossing, don’t worry too much, it’s meant to be played at your own pace, the game doesn’t need constant attention.
@Eel Have they changed that, then? I remember on the GameCube, that if you hadn't "visited" for a while, the island and its inhabitants wouldn't be any the better for it, so it most definitely was a game to at least be played a couple of days per week back then.

@Eel Well, that's good to know. That apparently removed/toned-down mandatory play time was in large part responsible for me abandoning the GameCube version at some point. I did get the Wii version as well, but ultimately never even played it.
