I just found out my Switch cartridge collection is worth $2688.15 AUD. I don't know why, I don't know how, but I have a massive collection in cartridges ALONE.
Own up to Joy-Con Drift, Nintendo. We all know it's your fault
@tyranexx@heaveyarms55 Yeah, cutting sugary drinks is such an easy thing to target, to manage weight, or help lose it. If I drink soda anymore, it's rare. It's the mini cans, or less. I just need a couple tastes and I'm ok. I noticed skipping breakfast leads to being really hungry at night. Eating something within the first hour of the morning leads to me being less hungry at night, after dinner. It's like if you don't eat in the morning, at the end of the day, a hunger mechanism says, ok, we gotta catch up for what we missed earlier. Thats how it is with me, anyway.
@Ninfan I was already asleep, seeing as it was 1.25am over here, but thanks...
@Tyranexx Thank you, although the over the hill part? You do know that 50 is the new 30, right?
And as the card that I received from my sister today said:
"You're not 50, you're 18 with 32 years of experience"...
As for myself, I'm just gonna label myself a demi-centennial. Sounds more in line with my avatar anyway.
Speaking of which: milestone birthdays, combined with no parties and stay at home restrictions, make for plenty of material for yet another Thanos comic...
@thanosrexxx it's officially the 2nd over here and I'm awake and typing After a long night of a zoom meeting with my buddies and a couple drinks. So officially, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
@Zuljaras Of course you are, that goes without saying. Why would I want to get rid of creative people?
It's the useless ones that need to go, you know, the ones that don't give a damn about rules and applying social distancing, or who seem to think it doesn't apply once inside the supermarket and subsequently lean over you, grossly invading your personal space (which is already annoying in a normal situation) to grab something from a shelf, instead of having the decency to wait a couple of seconds until you're done...
@ThanosReXXX Happy birthday mate, I hope that you have a great day! It may not be as easy because of the current situation, but you still can and I'm sure you will
Hey people, wanna have some fun on this boring Saturday? Go here, before it's gone...
@NEStalgia So, how's about joining the chit-chat gang again some time? I've hardly seen you around here lately, and in between all the lock-down rules and the E3 and any and all game-related shows now being cancelled, I'm getting so bored, that I'd actually be willing to talk about real trains instead of hype trains...
It's unnaturally warm in my neck of the woods for this time of year today (high of 83 degrees Fahrenheit), but that'll change with some storms blowing through this evening. I'm hoping to get out and catch a bit of sun (and play Pokemon Go) before that happens.
@Eel I made it to section 4 of the Special Research yesterday, between my short evening walk and getting out during my lunch. Thankfully they aren't too difficult, but I'm bleeped if there will be any trading involved. I still can't believe they haven't added remote trading to the game yet....
@Heavyarms55 I definitely noticed when I cut soda in high school; I was drinking 1-2 a day and lost about five pounds without doing much else. I technically don't prohibit myself from drinking it anymore, but I've found I don't crave it anymore either. That's not to say I won't indulge in a good Dr. Pepper or Root Beer float when the time comes, however....
My main problem is that I just don't move around enough. I try to exercise about 2 1/2-3 hours a week at least. I'm also not gifted with the best metabolism.
@WoomyNNYes I stick with three meals a day and make sure to eat breakfast; otherwise, I'm starving and eventually contract a headache. I also have a late morning snack, in part due to the fact that I'm in the habit of taking lunch pretty late. XD It's a leftover habit from college due to a weird schedule at one point. It's also more convenient to take lunch later vs. the usual 12-1. I don't have as many problems running errands and also feel like I do my best work late morning/early afternoon.
@ThanosReXXX My family uses the "Over The Hill" brand for some light joking. XD I like your sister's card! I've seen similar things but definitely appreciate such humor.
And, of course, I love the comic. Though Spidey and Dr. Banner aren't looking so hot in that second panel.
@Tyranexx I wasn't really offended. Just trying to act like your regular 50-year old.
Glad you liked the comic. Mission accomplished...
My sister did more than send a card, though: she also sent me this surprise box with a pop-out balloon.
So, instead of a house full of people, that's now keeping me company, while I'm sipping my Bacardi & Coke, and enjoying my snack plate...
'The console wars are like boobs: Sony and Microsoft fight over which ones look the nicest and Nintendo's are the most fun to play with.'
What is up with all the stupid posts lately especially duplicate posts and such? I think NL needs a system where new accounts have to read the rules before being granted an account. I am sure that will cut down on alot of work for the more.
