@bimmy-lee Aha, I see. Well, that's definitely an interesting "origin" story, if anything.
But erm... double-checking everything on Google? Anxious (or suspicious) much?

@NintendoByNature - B&G is a top five food for me, and I could eat it every day for breakfast for the rest of my life. I would give up all other breakfast food if it meant unlimited B&G. My wife makes a homemade batch on Christmas morning, and it’s my favorite breakfast of the year. It’s so magical. I think I have a photo on IG from a few years ago of my kids on Christmas morning with gravy smeared all over their faces.

@HobbitGamer - Ooh, an alley swap. That adds a whole layer of adventure to your breakfast. Do you work the exchange while slowly creeping by in your car without actually stopping so you don’t draw attention? Your impression of Blathers was amazing. If I didn’t see the postcard came from HobbitHole, I would have assumed it came from him directly.

@ThanosReXXX - Haha, well, I guess I don’t double check everything, but I would now for a decision like that. I can probably change it, but it’s been so long that it’s grown on me. I didn’t even realize I misspelled it until years later when I acquired some NES era NP magazines. When I was a kid, I read my issues of that magazine so many times in a month that they nearly disintegrated. My subscription was my birthday gift for years. It was an incredible feeling when they showed up, all perfect and glossy. I loved seeing my name on the address label, haha!

@NintendoByNature Oh gosh, definitely. And with a nice glass of milk.... Goodbye Oreo cookies!

@NotTelevision Received your friend request and added you. Your username was thankfully obvious, but I also noticed you discussing that in previous pages.

@ThanosReXXX I'm not worried about breaking the bank; I'm just concerned that it'll sit around for ages before I finally get to it. XD I went a bit nuts with picking up manga last year since I'm trying to get into it again....

Who the heck eats gravy that early in the morning? Yuck...
And with biscuits? Aren't those supposed to be eaten with tea or coffee? Or are we talking about things like sea biscuit here?

Personally, I'm all used to the Western-European sweet breakfast, meaning breads/sliced bread and things like rolls or croissants with marmalade, jelly, peanut butter, Nutella, honey, syrup, chocolate sprinkles, and any other kind of sweet sandwich spreads. One of the few exceptions in Western Europe may be the British, what with their bacon, beans and fatty sausage breakfast. I shudder to think of having to force down something so greasy and heavy on a sober stomach while still being barely awake.

The heartiest thing we eat over here, is a plain omelette/scrambled eggs or a boiled egg, and with Easter coming up, boiled eggs will definitely be on the menu, but they will be combined with powder-sugared raisin bread filled with almond spice and with a good layer of full-cream butter (dairy butter) on top of each slice, and then there'll also be a variety of sweet spreads to put on a diverse selection of small breads and croissants fresh from the oven.

And to be able to flush that all down, we'll have some freshly squeezed orange juice, and there'll be tea and coffee, of course, as with any regular breakfast...

@bimmy-lee That sounds like a nice story indeed. And I can definitely relate to that sentiment of receiving a monthly game magazine. I was subscribed to several Amiga magazines at first, and later on, I became a member of N64 Magazine and Cube Magazine, which had a free video and Action Replay disc each month.

After that, I simply bought loose magazines in stores for a range of consoles, because there were SO many of them, and not all of them were always equally interesting. I still have stacks of Xbox 360 magazines, all with demo or trailer discs, and quite a few Edge and original Nintendo magazines.

@Tyranexx Ah, okay. Fair enough. At least now I know whether you bought it or not.

On a side note: I'll send you a request as well. You'll instantly know it's me, because the name's the same, save for one missing X, thanks to Nintendo's archaic 10 letter name limit...

@hobbitgamer a drive thru biscuiting sounds right up my alley lol @ThanosReXXX you clearly haven't had American biscuits and gravy 😉
@bimmy-lee dude......ill need that recipe. I've never attempted it. An ex gf's grandmother used to always make it for me homemade since she knew i loved it. It was the hardest part of the breakup lol
@Tyranexx as ive gotten older i cant drink much milk anymore. It hurts my stomach. So my whole family makes fun of me when i say "cant wait for a fresh batch of cookies and a tall glass of cold water" hahah

@NintendoByNature Well, I'll try almost anything once, but I'm not really partial to hearty foods when I just got out of bed or when it's early in the morning, no matter how good it tastes...

@ThanosReXXX that's understandable..i barely eat breakfast or big breakfast when I do. But when I actually want to sit down and have a good meal, it needs to be a monster breakfast. They're buttery flaky biscuits with a sausage cream gravy poored on top. It's truly something you need to take the rest of the day off for, or be close to the bathroom 😉

@NintendoByNature I'm not quite sure if that sounds really enticing...

As many will know, I've mostly worked from home nowadays, as an independent contractor, but when I still worked in an office, breakfast was mostly two slices of full grain bread, with any of the aforementioned sweet spreads on top, and a mug of tea. Something that I could finish in under 15 minutes, so that I didn't need to spend too much time eating, and so I didn't have to get up too early. And it was also meant as something to sustain me until the first coffee break, which at the office where I used to work, was usually around 10am, and then I'd have another sandwich or two, from a lunch box that I'd prepare at home each day.

And then around lunch time, I'd have another two sandwiches, and a piece of fruit, or sometimes, we'd just go and buy some fresh breads with whatever on them, or we'd order in from a catering service, but not too often, because the bill for that always came in at the end of the month. And every once in a while, we'd just go to the local McDrive, for a burger and fries, but that too, not too often.

@ThanosReXXX It depends on which side of the Atlantic you’re on. In the US, biscuits are a kind of quick bread similar to a scone but in the UK biscuits are what people in the US would call “cookies” (I think that has Dutch origin). Crisp, cracker, and chip also have similar problem.

@bimmy-lee Cool. I felt like an old man trying to figure out how a DVD remote worked, for a while at least. I opened up the gates and some homeless stragglers got by me and stole the morning paper.

@Tyranexx Yeah that’s Mii alright. Pleased to meet you Landroid 🤝.

@NintendoByNature Haha. I was late in my response in clearing up the biscuit issue.

Can’t find a single place that sells American style biscuits in China. It’s weird because they used to have these posters in the KFC that showed buckets of biscuits and Mac n’ cheese on the wall, but it wasn’t on the menu here 🤨. Gave me false hope.

ThanosReXXX

@NotTelevision Yeah, that's also true over here. But for us, it's actually BECAUSE of the English, what with their "tea and biscuits" and all. Those are mostly sugared or made of any other kind of sweet-flavored ingredients. General rule in most of Europe though, is that biscuits are never soft or fresh breads, so they're either thin and hard, or they're thick but airy and crispy, like rusk or sea biscuit.

But I do know about plain and/or hearty biscuits. In fact, the Dutch name for sea biscuit is quite similar: zee beschuit. And rusk is also called "beschuit".

For references' sake, this is Dutch "beschuit", in case you've no idea what rusk is:
Untitled
The international version of that often looks more like these:

Another difference is that the Dutch version is usually more airy and soft, whereas the international version is more sturdy, often also referred to as "twice-baked bread". To make things a bit more confusing and/or comical where translations are concerned, we call all of those examples "toast" over here, so they're not considered the same as "beschuit" to the Dutch...

@Heavyarms55 @Anti-Matter But do you guys play with any of the your Switch friends? The other reason I never send friend requests is, with the game titles I play, and inability to communicate, and life schedules not meeting up, it was extremely rare I ever played with anyone, and the only benefit I have with having Switch friends is being able to see what other people are playing.

I guess with Animal Crossing, you don't have to coordinate to visit friend's islands? You just go to their island when you want?

@ThAnOsReXxX ThanosFleXXX, is Cup o' Dirt your username? I saw a "Pong Lenis" in Rocket League yesterday, and wondered if that was you 🤔🤔🤔

@ThanosReXXX Ohh yeah that’s confusing. It’s hard to know what you are getting in the international snack food aisle, if you’ve never tasted it before.

The airy and soft version sounds good. I’ve had the the ones in the toast form that you showed there, and you’re right. Very dense and stiff, similar to packaged Italian biscotti. You feel like you’ll chip a tooth crunching into one.

@WoomyNNYes Hell, no. That was just my response to your Brian Regan video. I guess I kind of wrongfully assumed you'd get the reference...

@ThanosReXXX Oh man, I guess I didn't know that bit. Funny. I saw Brian Regan live in 2009. I really liked a couple of his older shows. Actually I'm just glad my ignorance of the Cup o' Dirt bit left me the opportunity to mention the "Pong Lenis" username on NL

So this is turning into a confusing office day. The state office is going back to an old method to pay our providers that’s based on a payout average from Q1/2 medical claims, from today through the end of June. That means instead of an itemized invoice payment, I’ll basically be getting a check and have to use my own guess to figure out where the funds should be allocated across our 8 county catchment area. I don’t do well with abstract sometimes, and it’s take. My supervisor and my colleague each half an hour to try and explain it. I eventually needed a 4 year old explanation complete with drawings, and I’m still not sure I’m 100% convinced. Hobbit brain no feel good.

@HobbitGamer I defintely have benefited from visuals to understand advanced math, or math in general. I think that's why struggled with algebra(maybe it's just boring), but calculus made more sense.... cause graphs & shapes. Edit: I don't think everyones brain architecture is wired to just "get it" with math. I guess you could say that about a lot of things, or why some people excel at certain things. Analysis of Einstein's brain(post mortum) found both halves of his brain were much more connected than the average brain.

@NotTelevision Here's another fun fact: long before gender reveal parties were a thing (ever since the mid 1800's), the Dutch celebrated their newly born with "beschuit met muisjes", which is biscuits with sugar-coated, and appropriately colored aniseed kernels. The Dutch name means "biscuits and mice", because the coated aniseed kernels look like tiny little mice with a tail. And they still stick to that tradition, in most households. Looks like this:
