So I just got word my buddy's bachelor party that I was going to is officially canceled and his wedding in may might be too. Really stinks but i understand.
@ThanosReXXX oh yea. Today's the big day for me. Hoping my new flooring and wallpaper arrived in the mail.
@NintendoByNature I feel your buddy's pain: May is my month, and I'm turning half a century, but there'll be no celebrations going on, much less a big party...

@Zuljaras You're very welcome. Glad to be of help.
I also made a minor edit, and put the text in italic, so it's even more easy to spot the differences.

Whew, got sidetracked for a couple days, cleaning, priming, sanding, painting, and caulking a small storage room in the basement. I still have a few colors to put on the walls, but it’s mostly done. I’m going to fill it with stuff so I have space to fix up the living room down there, but there’s a chance it will become my (small) retro game room when the basement work is complete, so I’m fixing it up properly with a cool paint job. I’m going with a classic NA NES and SNES palate with white, black, and a very light grey as my neutrals, with red and a purple (very close to the lighter shade buttons on the SNES controllers) as my accents. I’ll probably put a little orange in there too for good measure. Hope everyone is well. Animal Crossing is life.
@bimmy-lee At this point, SO many people are playing and discussing Animal Crossing, home styling and hobbying away, that it's almost hard to differentiate between them and the people ACTUALLY doing something in their REAL homes...

@ThanosReXXX - Haha, that’s brilliant! I’m mirroring my real life work in AC. I broke a lot of shovels digging my basement. I read what you wrote about people not “getting” AC, and I was squarely in that boat until this game. I’ve never been too manly to play cute games, but the series was just never on my radar as anything more than a kiddie time filler. Man was I wrong. When I got my Switch, I promised myself to expand my gaming horizons, and I’ve been rewarded for doing so with games like Kingdom Battle, LM3, AC, and some unusual indies. I still haven’t pulled the trigger on Pokémon, but that could come in the future.
@bimmy-lee Hm, seems that I missed the part where not just @NintendoByNature but also you were newly converted to the AC cause...
Either way, good to see that you've taken the effort to expand your gaming horizons, and glad that you're enjoying the game. Personally, I've never been shy about trying new stuff, whether that's in games or in real life. As my mother used to say: you can't say you don't like something, unless you've actually tasted it. I'm not really in the camp of "well, I read about it and/or seen videos about it, and that's more than enough for me to decide that I don't like it".
A review or a video is good for a (partial) first impression, but neither of them can convey the "feel" of a game or its mechanics. That is the part of a game that either clicks or doesn't click with you during a hands-on experience, and that is the ONLY way to truly find out if it's for you or not, far as I'm concerned.
And to answer the first question that may now possibly pop up in your mind: yes, I actually have played some of those dance mat games, and they REALLY aren't for me. But at least I tried first, before dismissing them altogether...
@ThanosReXXX what day is It? If anything I will have a drink and toast to you that day. Won't be much of a part though, unfortunately. Plus, ill probably start drinking when you're already towards the tail end of drinking.
I've gradually been trying to expand my own gaming horizons with other franchises; I used to be pretty limited with what I was into, at least as a kid. Last year I tried the Kirby series for the first time (Kirby Super Star and Kirby's Adventure) and was pleasantly surprised with how much I enjoyed them.
I'd like to try Animal Crossing: New Horizons eventually, especially with all the hype it's received lately, but I'll be waiting for a little while yet.
@NotTelevision I last saved just before starting on Face Shrine (dungeon #6) yesterday evening. My Switch received all the run time this weekend, between Link's Awakening and the Bravely Default II demo. I've made some pretty good progress in everything, including heart pieces and secret seashells. I like creating dungeons for Dampè, but I don't know if I'll bother with any freeform ones. XD
This is my quick sketch based on my situation right now.
My hometown Surabaya has been infected by Covid-19. 😱
I felt scary and angry at the same time, but somehow i got an idea to create my biggest villain from Covid-19 pandemic.
There she is , Covidia Queen as Empress of Pneumonia with her million of minions.
I think i will add her with other Major viruses to strengthen her army.
And myself as nerdy guy with my Mighty Medicine team: Captain Aseptico, Capsulo and Tableto.
What do you think ?
I will complete the drawing within 1 week.
@NintendoByNature On the second. And that happens to be on a Saturday this year, so you may have a point there.
Although, all kidding aside, I never binge-drink anymore, so I'll never have more than 3 or 4 of my favorite drink, which is Bacardi & Coke. I do drink beer though, especially when the temperatures start to reach certain highs, and when I do, then that's the only time that I'll probably easily double that amount of drinks, because I don't notice the effect of beer so much. But we're about 6 to 8 hours apart, so I suppose you can approximately work out how late it'll be here, by the time you start drinking...
@Tyranexx Animal Crossing? And you haven't even started Breath of the Wild yet...
Seems like you and me are one of the few late adopters of Animal Crossing, but personally, I'm okay with that, seeing as I've still got a MASSIVE backlog, so it's not like I've got nothing to play during this involuntary stay at home period. I'll add Animal Crossing some time in May, though. Probably... likely, definitely...

I removed the underscore from my username to make it easier to type. Usually we hit reply, but every once in a while when a user isn't on the current page, you type a username. This may help someone, or no one
@ThanosReXXX I didn't know that. That's pretty cool. I'm glad the cabinet doesn't have a steering wheel. I never liked the steering wheels on the Mario Kart arcade games, because drifting is so different with the steering wheel, versus a controller.
@Anti-Matter I really like that drawing. Can't wait to see what it looks like when you're finished!
@ThanosReXXX That's precisely why I'm in no hurry to get AC right now: backlog. I have enough games to keep me busy for over a year. My hope is to clear out more games than I buy before Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition hits store shelves (tentatively) in late May. I'm excited enough for that game to want to play it day one! It was a definite highlight for me in the latest Direct. I'm almost glad that Bravely Default II is looking more like a fall/early winter release.
Now if only the Switch eShop wouldn't have so many tempting sales....I managed to barely hold off on picking up another Final Fantasy, but that 50% off for Hyper Light Drifter.... 😬
I’ve now joined the telework corps. My boss actually came to visit us at the annex and let my partner and I know. We already had laptops issued to us, and I’ve set up a nice area in the dining room. I’ll be going in on Thursday mornings to make sure the billing cycle runs smoothly, since my office has a direct drop to the servers. Even that may only be this week. So I packed up the few physical things I need, grabbed some food from the store, and came home.

I just got hammered with 4 FR which no doubt was from the animal crossing thread. Ralizah was the only one who told me they sent me a request. Not sure who the other ones are.
