@NintendoByNature Well, glad you're enjoying it. I would have hated the thought that we all tried to convince you how enjoyable Animal Crossing can be, only to find out that it isn't your kind of thing at all. Can't speak for the others, obviously, but I really don't like making bad recommendations.
@NotTelevision Here, let me help you with that:
For future reference: you need to use the "Direct Link" that's generated from the uploaded picture, and then use the "img" command to post it here in a manner that we can all instantly see it, like I just did.
@ThanosReXXX Thanks! To my knowledge, everyone is doing well. Those two are both miracles in their own ways. Needless to say we're all pretty thrilled! The little guy was pretty much at his due date, while the little girl is here a couple weeks early.
Yes, they'll definitely be spoiled. The baby girl is the first kid, so both her parents and extended family are thrilled; she's been a long time in coming. The little boy is kid #2. He has a sister a few years older than he is, and it appears as though she dotes on him already. Though I wonder how things will be once she realizes she has to share mom and dad with someone....
@NintendoByNature That's actually also what I like about a community of gamers in general: we all have our own favorites and/or hidden gems to share, so there's always a good chance that you get to play something new that you never even looked at or had considered before, let alone known about, in the case of hidden gems.
There's actually quite a lot of people that don't like (or "get") Animal Crossing, simply because they can't really wrap their head around the purpose of it. In their minds, a voice is probably shouting "but WHAT is the goal?" or "what the HELL am I supposed to do to win this game?" and it echoes along in their skull, because there's no fitting answer, or at least not one that pleases or comforts them.
And as such, they simply disregard the game altogether, because they don't see the use of playing it, nor do they see the entertainment value of it. But the fact that the games are still so popular, just goes to show you that a game really doesn't NEED to have a specific purpose or goal, to still be a rather enjoyable experience. If anything, I'd say that having an enjoyable time actually IS the purpose of this game, and it succeeds in doing so rather well. Almost ever player that I know in real life and on here can relate to having lost multiple hours in the game, basically doing nothing much, which is definite proof of the game's attraction (and retention) value.
@ThanosReXXX
I think some peoples never understood the appeal of Animal Crossing or any kind of Life Sim games because they measured with wrong objection. They measured the game with Competitive standard which the game must have Win or Lose situation while Animal Crossing itself is NOT a Competitive game. Just like wanting a juicy beefsteak from a vegan restaurant.
Peoples who oftenly play Competitive type games will have very hard time to like NON competitive games since they want a clear goal / Win or Lose situation. The goal of AC is manage your daily activities freely, without being pressured by some circumstances. The mistake from some players when playing Animal Crossing is they expect the game must have ending after all the goal have been done but Animal Crossing itself is an Open Ending game which mean there is NO ending nor Game Over nor The End. Some gamers with tendency like that oftenly sold their games after they beat the game. They have finished the game and done, no more continue the optional things or replay again.
Edit:
Also, some mistakes from the players are they compared Animal Crossing with other games they expect where the games itself have NO corelation with Animal Crossing. For example, compared Animal Crossing with Minecraft. If there is NO building with blocks, Not interesting. Or compared Animal Crossing with something absurd like shooter games, if cannot do violences with the animals = Not interesting.
@ThanosReXXX I'm usually one of those gamers that needs a purpose. I like an end goal, especially when playing games. But for whatever reason I wanted to take a shot, probably because all of the stuff going around these days. It really hit the spot too. I'm really getting alot done too. Museum is nearly up and running, I need like 20 iron (whatever's) to complete the store. Crafted lots and lots of goodies and my Lord. I caught a whopper oar fish a little bit ago. Put an easy 3 hours in this afternoon and didn't think twice.
I gotta say, even while world news continues to scare me more and more each day...
I had a pretty good weekend personally. Made lots of progress in Animal Crossing. Including like half a million bells selling hanging terrariums because they were my hot item and only took weeds and iron to make. Also my friend hooked me up with the remaining fruit I needed, so now I've got my orchard laid out. It was nice trying out multi-player with my friend (and someone from this site who showed up randomly) but some of the limitations placed on you during multiplayer kind of annoyed me. Since there are no mini games to play with someone (that I know of) multi player just seems like a way to trade items and sell your native fruit for more money - which is great - but kinda limited.
I really enjoyed my weekly anime too. The Director's cut of Re:Zero is basically finished up and was an astounding re-edit of the first season. The 50 minute episodes are so so so much better than the usual 24 minutes that most anime are these days. Somali and the Forest Spirit also finished and my goodness was the best new show this season! Anime like that just don't come around often! I wont lie, I cried at least three times throughout the show! Which is a record for me and the vast majority of fiction usually doesn't make me emotional like that.
Then last night, I just had a feeling, I thought "I should do some Pokemon raids tonight, I got a good feeling about it!" and I must be a Jedi because I was right! I nabbed not one but two shiny Pokemon in less than 2 hours! A shiny Chandelure - which I'm giving to my friend because I actually bred one already, and a shiny G-max Machamp! Oh and the other day I hit Master Ball tier in doubles with my new sun team.
All and all, a wonderful distraction. Now back to work and hoping Japan sees sense and extends the cancelled classes. I get that my coworkers want to get back on track but though the overall numbers in Japan remain low, the rate of infection has still been slowly but steadily increasing...

@Heavyarms55 Hey, sounds like a good media haul for the weekend! I did a lot of physical work and chore things, but I’m about to try and sneak in a few hours of AC. Gotta remember to open my gates...

@HobbitGamer One of the benefits of living in a small studio apartment is that there are not many chores. I did laundry, washed the dishes and took out the trash, but that's really all I needed to do.
Though I do have a pile of cardboard boxes from Amazon deliveries that I need to cut up and shovel into the dumpster still...

Geez.... 😒
Recently there were some trolls were attacking me just because i have different opinions.
Not negative comments but still they dislike my opinion.
The trolls i have found were recently joined a few hours ago / a few days ago with nasty attitudes.
Also, there was an user namecalling me for defending garbage games (shovelwares). Actually the games were not really crappy, but he backstabbed me by namecalling and assosiated me with shovelwares.
I have addressed those issues to moderator but it seems still no feedbacks yet. 😕
@Anti-Matter Trolls on the internet? Next you'll be telling me there are fish in the ocean! Come on Anti, everyone knows trolls are a myth! Just like everyone knows there are no fish in the ocean. @ThanosReXXX ate all of them last week!

@ThanosReXXX Thanks for that. I rarely want to post images, but the couple of times I tried it didn’t work. I’ll try to post the direct link next time. Do you know if the picture has to be at a certain size to appear, or any size is fine?
@Tyranexx Hehe. There’s more Nintendo characters on the way later when I expand the humble abode. How has Toy Link been? Last I heard you were in maybe the 3rd or 4th dungeon.
@NintendoByNature Yeah it pretty fun to play around with the art tool in the game.
Guys I had little spare time and I decided to do a little testing on my intro in Castletoria.
The font of the text is NOT final and really need to make a custom font with sprites.
For now I have the strong base as the code and art are done!
If you hold a button the text will draw faster. I had this in my head for a long time but finally managed to do it. I also do not know if I have spelling mistakes or somethings that sound weird. If a native English speaker could help with that I would be very grateful!!!
This blue eye perceives all things conjoined. The past, the future, and the present. Everything flows and all is connected. This eye is not merely seen reality. It is touching the truth. Open the eye of truth... There is nothing to fear.
@Anti-Matter Yup, all true. But some gamers just like games with a purpose and a competitive environment or goal, so much like all of our individual preferences in games, it may not be a game that pleases everyone, and that's okay. We don't all have to like or play the same things.
@NintendoByNature Haha, look at you, chugging along. Gotta love a new convert...
@Heavyarms55 Hey man, just wanted to say hang in there, and don't let the bad news get to you that much that it starts to overwhelm you. As a person that has struggled with really dark depressions in the past, I can tell you that no good can come of it, and it may very well lead to some ill-advised tunnel vision. We'll all get out of this, so keep the faith.
But glad you got some entertainment out of your games. That's always a good diversion from all the negative, real world stuff going on.
On a side note: I actually did had some fish last Saturday, but it was only 350 grams, so that's hardly an ocean full...
@NotTelevision You're welcome. And no, any size picture is fine. There's probably some kind of protocol on the site going on in the background, that resizes pictures to fit in a pre-configured frame, so bigger pictures get shrunk down automatically. And if ever you need help, you know where to find me.
@Zuljaras I'd be more than willing to help with that, but I think that would be easier to do, if you'd just post the entire text in a comment. In the video, it's going too fast and to stop and pause each time to check a section of text, is rather cumbersome.
'The console wars are like boobs: Sony and Microsoft fight over which ones look the nicest and Nintendo's are the most fun to play with.'
@ThanosReXXX Thanks in advance! Some of the sentences are 100% not correct. I will include you in the credits!
"The battle between good and evil is eternal. This conflict as old as time itself.
Many orders were created to protect the innocent.
The Order of Justice was the main protection of England.
Its warriors are skilled in both combat and magic.
When evil arise, those warriors are ready to crush it.
Until one day a mysterious Castle appeared near the ocean.
How? Nobody knows. Unholy monsters emerged from within and started attacking everything in sight.
The Order of Justice sent many of its mightiest champions, but none returned.
Erhard, one of the apprentices was eager to help.
When he was young he witnessed his family being slaughtered by demons.
The Order took him. They saw that he has a gift for magic and the art of war.
He was determined, and his results were exceptional.
Protecting the innocent is his ultimate goal and punishing the creatures of the night is his calling.
He wanted to go with the next wave of brave warriors to
besiege the Castle. His wish was granted, and he departed to the infernal fortress.
With each step toward the Castle the gear was getting heavier. The magic leaving the people.
The place was cursed, and they knew it, but their determination was strong.
Just before entering the Castle they were ambushed. Hellish monsters swarmed them.
Almost all fighters perished in the jaws of evil. Erhard found himself cornered at the very Castle gate.
Just before he could join his comrades in the afterlife the gate opened on its own and he entered.
Erhard was alone in the Castle Courtyard.
He could still hear the creams of his friends dying.
His chances of survival were never so low, but still he marched on.
@Zuljaras Well, you'll be glad to know that there's actually only some minor errors in there.
Here are the corrections, in order:
(I've put the corrections in bold and italic, so you can spot them easily)
"The battle between good and evil is eternal. This conflict is as old as time itself."
"The Order of Justice was England's main protection."
(or you could say "served as England's main protective force", whichever you prefer)
"When evil arises, those warriors are ready to crush it"
"The Order took him in, because they saw that he has a gift for magic and the art of war."
"He wanted to go with the next wave of brave warriors to besiege the Castle.
His wish was granted, and so, they departed to the infernal fortress.
With each step toward the Castle their gear was getting heavier, the magic leaving the people.
The place was cursed, and they knew it, but their determination was strong."
"Just before he would join his comrades in the afterlife, the gate opened on its own and he entered"(edit: actually, it's better to say "Just before he was about to join...")
"He could still hear the screams of his friends dying.
His chances of survival were never lower, but still he marched on."
(alternatively, you could also say "Although his chances of survival were extremely low" or "Even though his chances of survival were slim to none")
"What does fate have in store for this brave young man?"
On a side note: also check your punctuation. Either use no periods or commas, seeing as in games and with artistic/stylistic texts and fonts in games, you hardly see that anyway, much like capitals, which some fonts don't even have. But if you DO decide to use periods and commas, then you have to do it right, obviously.
One example that stood out a bit, is this one: "Erhard, one of the apprentices was eager to help."
That needs an extra comma after "apprentices", because mentioning who Erhard is, is a side note in a sentence, so the entire part has to be separated from the main sentence, and enclosed in commas, making the sentence look like this: "Erhard, one of the apprentices, was eager to help."
A helpful thing to remember is that if you take away the part of the sentence in between the commas, the rest of it must still make sense (so that would leave you with "Erhard was eager to help"). You can't do that when the sentence has only one comma...
And as shown in some of my corrections, you sometimes use periods to break up sentences that could be made into one sentence with a comma instead, making the text flow more naturally.
